There was a poem I hear once, it went "I had a dream, which was not all a dream. | The bright sun was extinguish'd, and the stars Did wander darkling in the eternal space, | Rayless, and pathless, and the icy earth | Swung blind and blackening in the moonless air." This is the poem Darkness, by Lord Byron. So, a shout out to this amazing poet for the inspiration of this chapter.
The air was cold and dark as a being of unimaginable greatness drifted alone in the empty void. Being created from nothing but absolute power, enough to create a mind of its own, it wandered endlessly looking for another to share in its loneliness. Eons passed and still it continued to travel, surfing the great nothingness that had no color, taste, feeling, or empathy.
"Void" It started to refer to its surroundings, and then birthed the void. The place outside of all places, and outside of all existence. A place worse than hell itself.
"Lonely" It thought as it realised what what it was feeling. This great being of imaginable power was lonely, and so wadered seaslessly.
Then one day it felt a pull on its mana, not unlike its own pull. Following this tugging feeling the being traversed the expanse for untold eons until it finally found it. Another of its kind. Where it gave off an almost blue hue from its power, this one that it found had a pink hue to its power, and as the two met a phenomenon happened. Where the two massive beings touched a wall appeared, the first thing that they had ever seen. Wanting more they pushed harder and harder, until their mana was completely intertwined. With a strain of effort the new being shattered the wall, and a rift appeared that started to drain the Void of its power. As the being began to fade from existence, its power (mana) being the only thing to sustain it, it did one last act of defiance and created a body for itself. The body was 20 feet in length, and 5 feet tall.
This being would be known as the first of the draconic race, and the god of creation. As the wall that separated the Void from reality shattered, power poured into reality and created an endless amount of worlds.
The being, knowing it's time was short, pushed itself into reality and as it did so, mana sparked and fizzled, before shooting off in all directions. Pushing into its body, it flew through space until it found a suitable world to its liking where it settled down for slumber to eventually one day recover its power and rule everything in its new reality.
Little did this being pay attention to the sparks that flew through space, crashing into planets where species were born and life bloomed. Each spark, out of the trillions that were dispersed, created there own races. From goblins, orks, and rakshasa, to humans, elves, dwarves, and fae; all of these beings were created by this immortal being and all races knew to respect it as king.
Or that was the case for millennia before the sleeping king awoke from its slumber and wreaked havoc. Planet after planet was destroyed, and countless beings that would never be recorded in history were erased, converted into power and used to make this believed to be unstoppable.
Then one day it reached a planet inhabited by a host of different creatures. Where most planets only had one or two sparks, or "seeds of life" as it termed them, this one contained hundreds. Being one of the closest planets to the wall this planet was full of power and each being had the power of an immortal.
Due to their proximity the rift in the void however taint flowed through their meridians, making them age and wither on the vine. Deciding that he would try to slumber on this planet, he descended from the heavens.
Dragons by now were widely known by many planets, the offspring of this mighty being, and to this planet dragons were considered evil beings. Seeing this massive dragon and planet destroyer, who was by now at least 100 feet by 40 feet tall, The races banned together, and through the cross breeding of the kings and queens of several different races empires, the first heroes were born. These people were considered to be the strongest of the planet, and true immortals that could shape reality at will. In all there were 5 people.
Domain, who could rip holes in reality itself with his bare hands. He was an unknown traveler and trader who appeared in the world and was given the title of hero after killing a black dragon in one on one combat.
The Silver Fox, who got her title for being aloof and mysterious, going as she pleased. She was the child of a demon and a dragon. She was given the title of hero from birth after having been born into the SS tier and reaching triple S by the age of 7. Her true name was Elesia Silver.
Shade, whose nature was forever unknown and name was also unknown. He was also an immortal ranked being that vanished, the only recorded things about him being that he was like a father figure for Silver Fox, and that he had mastered that art of darkness.
Khorne, who became a commonly worshiped god for his ability to control anything biological. He had the power to instantly crystalise the blood of legions of soldiers at once and was known as a demon. What most people didn't know is that he was actually born a mix of the demon race and the humans, giving him already immense magical potential but also the potential to grow at a superior rate.
The fifth person was a man, whose abilities were lost to time. He had the ability to tear open dimensions, and transform his body into anything at will. He was the strongest of them all, except for the Silver Fox, and disappeared like the rest after the great battle that some believe took their lives.
As the great king of all beings slumbered, these brave souls snuck into the den to kill it. However, what they found horrified them. The dragon's nest was made of the bones of millions and trillions of creatures, and as they stepped into the cave, they began to twitch and rise as fallen due to the high density of mana ion the area. Due to this the battles lasted for over a year, and in the end Domain was believed to be killed.
Once they finally reached the king, he was easily dispatched due to being in hibernation, or so the stories say. In truth the fifth of the great heroes battled him in single combat after all his comrades were gravely hurt and slayed this immortal being that was wearing a cloak of flesh and blood.
Once the king was slayed, the 4 remaining heroes departed the realm, and later 3 of them came back as X tier gods. When they came back though they were forgotten and considered old gods, and began to fade in divine power due to being cut off from there followers in the other realm that the mysterious 5th member took them to. Khorne ended up becoming a god of but blood, forgotten to time what his true powers were. The Silver Fox was bound in an area that was created to keep her imprisoned, and Shade was left to try and find her, but got caught up as his faith was adopted by thieves and assassins wich required his guidance almost constantly.
The years passed and the 4 remaining god turned heroes drifted apart in there duties, leaving the old worl to be lost to time. But while they were caught in one thing or another, a seed slowly drifted through the oceans depths, slowly sinking to the ocean floor, where it could finally be given birth… and vengeance.
