Telmé could not believe this whole time Guldbrandsen had been manipulated by a bunch of fucking Incubi. They'd once been part of the Legion, but had not lasted more than a few generations before they proved to be too dangerous, defiant and uncontrollable. It had been the Princes of the Blood who, on orders of the queen and High Priest, had wiped them out. After all the known Incubi had been killed, the Shadowmarch had been sent to find any hidden or unknown, and those had been killed as well. The Legion had barely survived the loss, and what was seen as a betrayal, no matter how necessary it had been. While it was long enough ago to have been forgotten, Tunç had told him the history lingered in the way the Princes and the Shadowmarch were always slightly divided from the rest of the Legion.
