"Deal? Why should I?" Lin Che asked angrily. "Tell me, your highness. Why should I make a deal with you, while my best friend's in danger?!"

She froze and took a few deep breathes to calm herself.

"I'm sorry.... But making a deal, wasn't for me to reconsider. i need to restore Wu's power and bring his consciousness back.... Or else..."

Lin Che slumped her shoulder sadly, still holding Wu.

2 months ago: Fairy of Tale's Inn

Lin Che stopped on writing and look at Wu. Lin Che gave him a very cold stare and wipe her tears harshly.

Out of curiosity, she asked. "Wu... Is it possible... for you to lose your power?"

Lin Che expected him to answer it casually, but what she receive were his burning heated glare.

"Master... Are you...?"

His emotions change to being sad. "Are you cursing me...?"

"Of course not! It just came into my mind all of a sudden... So...?" Wu sighed and look at Lin Che's still improving writing.

"Practice more. Your writing still needs a little bit of improvements."

"That's not what I'm asking alright?"

Lin Che asked which Wu sighed in defeat. "Alright... Why'd you ask? Are you underestimating me that I could lose my power someday?"

Lin Che blinked before raising her left hand and hit him in the head fast.

"What's with your walnut size brain of yours thinking?! I'm just curios! What if one day something happens, at least I know."

Wu pouted his lips and flinched hearing her scolding.

"If... If I ever lose my power... Of course my life would be in danger. To save me, someone would at least help me restore my power... But... for mortals like master... that'll be just a day dream. It was too risky."

Lin Che patted Wu's head and smile happily. "Thanks for telling me. At least when that happens... I'll be prepared."

"So what if it's risky? Saving someone important to me, is what I should put first. We're buddies after all."

Wu asked curiously. "That... is a secret!"

Lin Che said winking and stick her tongue out in a playful way.

"Did he tell you how to restore his power back? Like some methods or clue?"

Xu Cheng asked by seeing Lin Che's pale white face and puffy eyes.

"And why aren't you removing your veil, when you're crying?" Lin Che gave him a very cold stare and wipe her tears harshly.

"As if you won't waste any second to reveal my identity the mere second I took it off."

Xu Cheng scoffed. "Quite confident are we? But do not fret. Your identity has nothing to do with me... ever! Even an ounce."

Lin Che turned her head on the other side and murmured.

'You better be.'

Xu Cheng cleared his throat and rolled his eyes in the inside. [Really...? I didn't know women can be a pain sometimes.]

"Did he?"

He asked again impatiently by now, which Lin Che heard and turn to look at him.

"He did tell me..." Lin Che pause still not get used to the word 'he' on Wu, looking at him blankly.

She sniffed before finally answering.

"But that was personal for a person I just met. A bit personal...?"

Xu Cheng frowned.

"Are you explaining or asking?"

Lin Che swallowed and blinked blankly. "Can't it be both?"

"No."

Xu Cheng answered emotionlessly. "How are we suppose to restore his power, when you can't cooperate?"

Lin Che look at Xu Cheng and decided. "First of all... My story's a bit complicated. But before that, help me first alright?"

"I said no."

Xu Cheng coldly refused and half-shouted, looking at her sternly.

"How am I suppose to help you when you won't tell me your story?"

'Here we go again.' Lin Che murmured and cleared her throat. "So..." She sat up straight and went dead serious.

"Let's just say my family and I were... puzzled, complicated, has so many obstacle and misunderstanding."

Xu Cheng raised an eyebrow, letting her know it confused him too.

Lin Che look at her left hand and clench it tightly, then look at Xu Cheng emotionlessly.

"I want revenge... To quench my long time desired feeling. I'm... I think... If I done it... Dying isn't even an option... Dying when my revenge is done, I'll be happy to not turn it down."

Lin Che shook it off and change the topic.

"Never mind that..."

"Typically to my aunt and cousin, who made my life a living hell... If I do that, there are chances... Wu might restore his power."

"You mean... by taking your revenge... Wu might live again and might be restored? Sound risky."

Lin Che nodded before sniffling again.

He asked mockingly and went to whisper himself. 'How shameless.'

"Can't it not be help from a stranger?"

Lin Che asked not looking at Xu Cheng but Wu. "Wu helped me from the very beginning even though we did not get along that well before."

She said in a very sadden tone but calm face.

"You sure seems... odds." Xu Cheng smirked jokingly for a second before turning serious. "I'll help you but in one condition."

Lin Che took a deep breathe and bit her bottom lips hard. "Alright. I'm..."

Outside

Lin Fang step out of the gate and saw Lin Cang there by herself. "Mom..."

She went to approach her and asked. "Where's General Lin?" Lin Cang pointed at the carriage left by General Lin.

"He said he has some errands to run. He already left. So let's also get going?"
