Mission first

"Let's not talk about him. We must change my fate here first." She said with determination. [Because of love, my trusted people die. Might as well change my fate here first, before that so- called true love.] She thought as she took a deep breath.

The next day

Lin Che wore her black veil and tied her hair in a ponytail. "What's the style of the hair of yours?" She flick Wu's forehead and answered. "Don't mock it. Ponytail is my favorite hairstyle.

She was about to open the door when Wu asked. "Where are you going?"

"Don't you feel hungry? I'm going to get something to eat." She said, pushing him off.

"No need to do that." Wu said and food appears in the table, made Lin Che to hang her jaw open. 'No wonder you are so round. You can summon food, while I can't.' She murmured, which made Wu to look at her. "Pardon me? I didn't catch that."

"Oh? Nothing! I just think, you are so almighty that you can summon food, while I can't" Lin Che chuckled awkwardly and took her seat. "You said you can't?" She pause and asked as she took her seat. "So I also can?"

"Of course not! You're still powerless compared to me!" Wu said proudly with confidence. "So that's why I always fail? Why don't you just take my position and change my fate here since you are so powerful than me?"

Wu froze, "No thanks! It's harder than you think... Besides! It's your fate, not mine." "You have a point." Lin Che said annoyingly and stuffed food in her mouth.

After awhile

She look at Wu and then wore her veil back. "The meal is great. But I thought you told me to change my fate here? How would I change my fate, when we're just lazing around?"

Wu then again stop her. "No wait! Master, you have to do your mission here. Your first mission is here. Since nobody saw your face, except your stepmother. It's easy for you, right?" He asked as he referred on Lin Che's previous life and job.

Lin Che smirked devilishly. "Easy as if eating a cake."

She said looking outside the window. [This seems fun... I cannot wait.] Lin Che thought excitedly.

As they waited, Lin Che's head started dropping but then she sat up straight.

[It's boring to wait... I'm sleepy!] She thought as she yawned, which Wu heard and using his power, the room started to get hot. Lin Che's sleepiness immediately disappeared , replacing it with frowned face.

She uses her hand as a fan and started complaining. "I don't understand this place. I thought cold palace means cold not hot!"

On the other hand, Wu himself wipe the tears on his eyes, controlling himself not to laugh loudly. [My god! I didn't know that on that gorgeous face of yours hidden something funny.] 'Why haven't I done this before?' Wu whispered to himself, chuckling like a complete idiot.

Lin Che's hand grab his head and with her closed eyes, she ordered. "I know it's you. Turn it off, now!"

Wu did turn it off as instructed and finally burst out laughing. "Oh my! I almost thought of you as a clown earlier. Its hilarious!" He said as he regain his composure and recovered from laughing.

Lin Che's face went dark and again, her right hand went shut him, by covering his mouth with two big buns. "Delicious right? Thank me later. Eat for now, you must've been very hungry."

Streets

A lot of people stared at the horses in line and lots of soldiers parading but their focus was all on the cold handsome face wearing a general outfit.

'Who is he? He is so handsome...'

'I didn't know but... he looks so familiar.'

'Right! He is the empress dowager's most favored brother. The prince of war, who left to fight in his early teens."

Royal Palace: Empress Dowager's Resident

The empress dowager, who was sipping her tea sadly, lifted up her head and soon her mood turned cheerfully.

"Cheng'er! You came!." She said excitedly at her younger brother, Xu Cheng, the regent. The regent and empress dowager are 30 years apart. It's a miracle for Xu Cheng to be born as their mother's already in her late 50's. Since then, the empress dowager pamper him dearly.

Xu Cheng smiled at the empress dowager and asked. 'Sister. It's been awhile. How have you been?"

At the same time, the crown prince, Xu Lei burst in excitedly.

"Uncle! It's been eternity. Did you miss me?" Xu Lei asked and immediately pounced on him like a 5-year-old child. The empress dowager chuckled at him and asked back. "No hug for your mother?"
