Black Wolf and Algae Demon

Edited by: Xzider

Early in the morning, after waking up Jackson started to arrange for the mission.

When he was done preparing, he walked over to where he would fight the wolf.

'I can't face the wolf directly, that would be suicide. He's still much stronger than me, the better option would be to ambush it.'

When Jackson looked around, he saw a tree that would be fitting for him to hide.

Next, he positioned himself and was being patient.

'I can't hurry. I have to wait for the right moment.'

Jackson was mentally preparing for the upcoming battle.

"AAAUUUUL"

A howl caught Jackson's attention and it happened to be the wolf he was looking for. But there was a problem, it was not alone.

'Shit, he's in a group, this will increase the difficulty even more.'

Jackson could only handle one wolf at a specific time. A pack would be too much for him to manage alone.

He watched the wolves approach the lake.

They were very cautious. While inspecting the region, as they found no danger, they relaxed.

Then the wolves neared the river and began to drink from it.

'Looks like I'll have to give up or try to isolate one of them, but how?'

During Jackson's contemplation, one of the wolves was dragged into the river by something.

Because of this, all the wolves stopped drinking water and swiftly grouped up together to create a battle formation.

The wolves continued to observe and howl in rage, waiting for any movement to attack.

SPLASH

A humanoid creature made of seaweed emerged from the river.

"& ^% * # / @ $!%"

The creature spoke in a language Jackson had never heard.

'System, what is it saying?' Jackson asked the system.

[ Response to host: He is speaking in the language of demons. As for what he's talking about, the host doesn't have the necessary authority. The system can't answer this to you]

'Devils Tongue? Are there really demons?'

Jackson was puzzled by the new information he just received.

"AAAUUUL"

When the creature came out of the water, the wolves assaulted it with hatred for the partner that had been killed by the creature.

"! @ & $ * # ^ $"

The creature spoke in a strange language then threw algae from its body onto the wolves as if the algae were spears.

One of the algae killed a wolf instantly.

The remaining four wolves attacked it in a siege style.

The creature threw some of its algae onto the wolf's body, only this time they were much thicker and it used them as a whip.

One of the wolves was hit but managed to grab the kelp whip with its fangs.

The pack leader reacted quickly and cut it off with sharp claws.

"&&& ******"

The furious monster shouted at the leader of the wolves.

Jackson was on the prowl waiting for a chance to attack.

The creature launched a violent attack on the wolves.

Jackson knew that if things went the way it was. It would only be a matter of time before the wolves were killed.

'If this continues on, the wolves will die which would imply failing my mission. Not to mention that if the river monster sees me, I will surely die.'

After thinking for a moment, he made a decision.

'You better thank me for the help.' Jackson took an arrow, put it in his bow. He then pointed at the monster and fired.

The monster was concentrating on the remaining wolves, which were the pack leader and one subordinate.

But then it felt an acute pain in its chest. When the creature looked down, it saw a small hole near the center.

The creature spat a green liquid, it gazed back and found an arrow stuck in the ground.

It was enraged, the weaker wolf seized this opportunity and jumped on it.

But the seaweed monster reacted quickly and grabbed it by the neck.

"! &% $ @ &"

The creature spoke with contempt and anger.

Later, another arrow zipped through and hit the wolf's head as it pierced through and struck the monster's head, resulting in both dying at the same time.

The wolf leader did not understand what was happening.

It was fighting the creature and suddenly an arrow struck the creature.

Its companion took the chance and charged but was caught by the creature. It was infuriated and when the wolf was about to advance toward the monster, another arrow hit them causing their demise simultaneously.

When it glanced back, a blur was coming toward it, killing the wolf right away. It only saw a beam before its vision darkened.

[ Congratulations! Mission Completed ]
