Saying Goodbye

As they went in the direction of the port, everyone asked Midas and Daren several questions in the huge carriage/forge. They finally understood how the wyvern soul came to be.

Apparently, when Midas and Daren were facing a tower of corrupt casters, they came across a wyvern's lifeblood. When a wyvern is dying, it stores its entire soul in its lifeblood. That lifeblood would stay hidden for several centuries and metamorphosize into an egg-like orb that could grow to become a lower caste in the dragon blood tree, or it could become a dragonoid, earth dragon or even a Komodo dragon, which was not as powerful as a wyvern but at least it had a new life and maybe along its new life, it could evolve into a wyvern again, which was as extremely rare occurence.

These casters found the lifeblood before it could form its orb shape, and used it to power their defense formation. When Midas stumbled upon it, he could tell it was an extremely powerful soul but still, he felt he could handle it. He almost died, and if it wasn't for his strong willpower, he would have been taken over by the wyvern. The wyvern soul now tamed, was supposed to mix with Old man's Choi soul, now known as Pride. But as they were fusing, the wyvern soul fully absorbed Pride's soul now became the new Pride. One weird thing about the situation was that the wyvern's soul could not share any of it's energy to Midas, thereby still leaving him in the basic red rank while it was in the peak red rank. It was formerly a gold rank being, but most of it's strength had been exhausted in the caster's tower defense formation.

The other generals were now in basic red rank while the imps, bandits and other warriors were peak green rank, strengthening Midas's soul, but not enough to facilitate a breakthrough.

Midas also asked about Sloane, and she did not stop talking. She told Midas about their adventures, Fenrir's discovery and all. Midas kept a smile on his face as he listened to his adorable junior sister. Daren as usual, was at the top of the roof and laying on his lap was Fenrir in his pup form. He stroked the adorable pup while listening to the conversation below and also keeping an eye out for any sudden attacks.

Licht kept on wondering how Roarke had come in contact with a soul shard and even managed to build a weapon for it. The soul shard was from the last soulmancer, and if Roarke had continued feeding it souls, it would have increased so much in level that the sleeping soul within would have awoken and become a minor problem for Licht. That was why he destroyed it, instead of even giving it to Midas as he felt the soul might have corrupted Midas and taken over his body. He frowned as his instincts told him that there was a sinister power in play, and he felt that power was indicative of the shadow creatures. He did not have any evidence of this, so he just kept these thoughts to himself. He closed his eyes and felt for the fragments left. He also brought out the orb he got from the necromancer.

"It wouldn't be long now" He balled his fist then placed the dark red orb back in his soul space.

He heard Regallas talking to Midas about making a weapon for him since they had a forge now but Midas preferred the spontaneity of using soul weapons. Regallas was downcast as he felt there was nothing for him to forge.

Licht called for Regallas and as Regallas appeared before Licht, he spoke.

"Master??"

"Regallas, I think it's time to say goodbye"

Regallas was confused and worried as his heart skipped a beat. At first, he did not want to follow Licht as he felt it would have been too much of a hassle. He would have rather been in the forging room, making new equipment. Now he actually enjoyed growing and the bonds he made with these people, he did not want to lose it.

"Master, I know I was rude the first time but I don't want to leave. I want you to instruct me and watch me grow strong enough so you wouldn't need to lift a finger." Regallas said, as he knelt before Licht.

Licht was confused, and instantly realized he was misunderstood.

"I don't mean goodbye to us. I meant to your folks. You'd be leaving the continent soon and we do not know when you'd be back, so it's time to say a proper goodbye to them." Licht laughed at he knocked Regallas head lightly

"OHHH!! My bad. But master, we are several months away from Belzoheim. How are we going to say goodbye to them?" said Regallas as he calmed down.

"Meeting Daello was truly a gift. If I hadn't met him, we would have had to use my soul attribute energy to channel our souls to Belzoheim. But since Daello has the space attribute, I now have it again." He waved his hands and a spatial passage appeared. Walking through, Regallas realized they were in the banquet hall of Belzoheim's palace. He was excited and at awe at the feats of Licht. Another spatial passage opened and the twins fell through. They were surprised at first, but when they saw Regallas and Licht, they just chalked it up to one of those incredible things their grandmaster could do. Technically, Licht was also their teacher, as he explained things to them from time to time. (Author's note : Though Licht can manipulate the elements, he needs to be around it, coming in contact with a person or tool that has the ether attribute so he can emulate it)

After a couple minutes, the royal family assembled in the banquet hall. They bowed before Licht as they all took their seats. Regallas started talking and explained that he was leaving the continent.

At first, his parents vehemently protested, but when they realized that Regallas had the same strength as Priscilla after just a few months, they understood that they could not hold him back.

Licht gave Priscilla a technique that would help her breakthrough with her wood element attribute, pushing her into higher levels. The same technique was also given to John, Lois, Jeth and Tife.

Alina got a skill technique that allowed her to drain the life out of living things. It was a dark skill, but Licht told her it was a necessary skill for a ruler. Licht also gave the sky spirit that Tife had a contract with, a rare fruit that increased their connection, thereby helping her use the spirit's skills easier.

Priscilla hugged the twins, and comforted them when she heard they had finally gotten their revenge on the Sunmane and Moonhowl clan. After several hours, Licht opened a spatial portal and everyone said their final goodbyes. As they didn't know when they would see their son and brother again, the Lovecrafts were emotional but they still wished him the best. They were finally back in the carriage, and meanwhile, the carriage had finally reached the port.

"So what boat are we taking, Master?" Sloane asked as she saw that the boats in the port were all a bit too small for intercontinental travel. The people of Gregorain continent had never left the continent as there were several strong monsters in the ocean, while some of them did not even know another continent existed. People like Regallas had heard rumors of another continent but had never left, but now he was going to be one of the few people who stepped foot on the other continent.

"Using a boat would take a few months so why do that when I can just do this?" Licht said and then swung his hands. A spatial rift opened and on the other side of the rift, the sight looked awful.

Licht said "Everyone get in. I can't hold it for a long time."

They all rushed through, with Licht right behind them. Licht saw they were all looking at the surroundings and smiled. He saw the dark red sky, the soil that looked like it had been stained with blood, and the air that felt thick with corruption.

With the obnoxious smile on his face, he said "Welcome to the Daemon continent"

In a forest that a looked like a great battle had taken place, a few kilometers away, a woman stared in the distance, looked at the five people and beast in her presence and muttered a few words.
