Meeting the Town's Mayor

The next day came and Licht left the inn after eating breakfast. He really seemed to enjoy modern cooking, due to only eating grilled meat without spice in his early years alive. He walked into a shop where they were selling clothes, walking up to the shop attendant. The shop attendant gives the usual stunned look that everyone gives, but Licht seems not to notice or maybe he just doesn't care. She then snaps out of her daze, smiles, and then asks "Good day sir, how may I help you?"

"I would like to look at your most fashionable pieces," Licht said expressionlessly.

"Right this way, sir" The attendant walks towards a passage and calls for him.

They walk down the passage and he sees an array of clothes, from frilly to tight, to bright to dull. Licht picks a variety of yukata like robes, lots and lots of yukata-like robes. Licht seemed to have a thing for robes.

After he left the shop, he was left with twenty percent of the coins he looted from the mercenaries. He then continued to tour the town after dropping his clothes back in his room. As he continued to walk, he heard a roar so he looked in the direction of the sound.

It was a two-meter tall Lion with flames as its mane, its furs looked like the quills of a hedgehog yet soft like the feathers of a peacock. This was the Flaming Mane Lion. On the lion, there sat a middle-aged man that was burly looking, he had brown hair and black eyes, his face was not attractive but it was not ugly either. He had this look of humbleness that would make anyone that sees him want to be his friend.

As the man sat on his lion, people were speaking excitedly and looked at him friendly

"It's Mayor James"

"Mayor James looks so heroic on his Flaming mane lion"

"How did he even tame such a powerful beast of the 8th brown rank when he is a 7th brown rank caster"

"I heard he luckily found the injured lion after it had a battle with another creature and then helped it heal by giving it priceless healing herbs."

Mayor James then spotted Licht in the crowd and urged his lion to move toward him. He then smiled and got down from the lion after reaching Licht.

"I heard that there was a stranger in this town, but I didn't know he would be this powerful, I cannot see his halo level but I can feel his intimidating aura when I try to probe" Mayor James pondered silently, then he smiled and bowed towards Licht" Esteemed guest, I am James, the mayor of this small town. What can I do to help you?"

"Ohh, why so formal? You act like I'm some emissary from a faraway kingdom." Chuckled Licht while looking at the mayor.

The mayor chortled wryly" I probed your aura and it was really intimidating".

"I forgot about that, been a while so I forgot to rein in my aura. What about now?" Licht asked

James checked again and was then shocked because he could no longer sense the aura. Licht in front of him seemed like an ordinary man without access to ether." This man is definitely above the 9th brown rank, a person in the yellow rank in my small town, best be respectful to him"

"I can no longer sense your aura, Sir ???" Asked James

"Licht, the name's Licht" Replied Licht

"Sir Licht, there is an auction holding today in the Merchant's guild later today, I wonder if you would be interested?" James inquired

"I've got nothing doing, so why not? Get someone to bring me there when it's time" He accepted, yawned then walked away from Mayor James.

Mayor James took no offense in the arrogance of Licht, after all, he thought Licht was a yellow stage human.
