Chapter 8

Jackson's POV

I finished getting dressed and got into my car, driving it outside while my guard opened the gates for me. This villa was where I came when I didn't want to be near my family. It was one of the many Villas that I personally owned. My father knew nothing about my properties.

He lived under the belief that all I do is squander his money. However, I have always suspected that my father would try to keep the inheritance from me.

As a precaution, I have been investing in businesses that I believe would gain me profit. While I fight for my right to take over the family company, that is only because it is a legacy I cannot abandon.

However I want to create a Legacy of my own.

While I drove out of the compound, I caught sight of Hannah, standing at the side, her fists balled to her sides as she looked at me with an angry expression. She was honestly adorable. I parked my car at the side as I rolled down my windows.

'Get in.' I let out, but I was met with a grunt as she looked at another side. ' You're not going to make me chase you are you?' I said feeling rather exhausted and frustrated. S

She walked towards me quickly and then without warning through a pair of keys into the car, hitting my thighs causing me to grunt in pain.

' What the f***?' I cursed as I stepped out of the car and walked towards her.

' That's what you get for thinking I can be bought with money.' She said and I could only stare at her confused.

' What the hell do you mean? Is this about the car, because any other girl would be happy to…'

' I'm not any other girl. I told you before and I'm going to tell you again, I'm not interested in your money. I'm only taking this deal because I want what's best for my child. but get this through your head that nothing is going to happen between us.' She rolled her eyes as she looked at me. I took a deep breath as I stepped forward invading her personal space.

' I don't think you understand that I'm not interested in you in that way. That night was not memorable, Hannah. It was like every other one night stand I've ever had. There was nothing special about you. Heck, I even forgot your name the minute I woke up that night. You need to stop thinking that I'm interested in you. You need to stop thinking that you are some special little thing I'm going to fall for. The only reason why I tolerate you is because you are carrying my child.'

'So now it's your child?' She shrugged.

' I had a moment of doubt. However, while that will be proved later on with a DNA test, you and I have to find a way to coexist peacefully in the meantime. you agreed to the deal and you have to put in the effort.'

'I AM!' She raised her voice, causing a scene. ' But I am not going to be swayed away by stupid gifts.'

' That is a 70,000 car!' I grunted, as I shook the keys in her face. ' You are going to become the girlfriend of a billionaire. You cannot embarrass me.' she remained silent for a moment. her eyes stuck to mine.

' Does your father know I'm not a rich spoilt brat?' She sounded every syllable with disgust and disdain. I hated how she judged me. I hated her arrogance and how she happened to believe she was better than everyone else.

I hated her.

' We need to set some rules.' she said and I shook my head vigorously.

'I agree. You need to understand your place and I…'

' My place?' she fumed, raising her tone again, as she stepped closer, our faces only inches apart. ' What is that supposed to mean? We are both in this together. stop acting like you're doing me a favor.

' Then you need to stop acting like I'm going to fall in love with you. Every little thing I do from here onwards is just business. This is a business transaction Hannah. You become my pretend girlfriend and I pay for your education and that of your siblings. nothing more than that. Whatever other ideas you have in your head, get rid of them.' I took her hand angrily and gave her the car keys before storming away.

I wasn't going to take back that car. The last thing I wanted was my pretend girlfriend riding the bus and making a fool out of my name. I had a reputation to uphold and I wasn't going to let her ruin it. As I got into my car and drove away, leaving her standing there stranded, I slowly realized that that was not the best thing to do. She was pregnant with my baby. I drove the car backwards and came back for her. She was still standing there across the road, seeming lost and crying. Seeing those tears on her cheeks almost broke my heart, I stared at her, unsure of what to do.

How was I going to tell her that this wasn't the last time i would make her cry? That the men in my family had a habit of breaking women's heart?
