Chapter 23

Is it heavily raining or is it insanely sunny?

Currently, it is both.

In the center, the cause for the absolute chaos, were Groudon, the legendary Pokemon of the earth known for the formation of land masses and neverending sun, and Kyogre, the legendary Pokemon that has complete control over the water known for bringing never-ending rain.

Coming face to face, the two rivals stared at each other, preparing to finally end their stalemate once and for all. The energy coming from the stone floating above, they began to absorb at a rapid pace.

Assimilating the energy into their bodies, Groudon and Kyogre began to transform.

As the light died down, Primal Groudon and Kyogre stood in front of all those who witnessed this moment. A loud roar, powered from the gut, bellowed with the ferocity of a deity had shook all to their core. Rain and Sun, two opposing weather, applied to the power of 2, and 2 legendaries attacking each other.

Precipice Blades erupted from the depths of the ocean, sharp edges aiming to pierce through Kyogre's body. Kyogre swam past them, dodging the attacks underwater before jumping above the surface. Narrowly avoiding getting more edges, Kyogre fired an Origin Pulse straight towards Groudon.

As the Origin Pulse neared closer, they evaporated! Groudon roared, charging up a Solarbeam as Kyogre dived into the water. Firing the Solarbeam, the attack was met with an Ice Beam from Kyogre! The two attacks canceled each other out, but the force from the attacks was felt by all those in the vicinity.

" Such power! Magnificent! " Wallace exclaimed, patting Milotic who protected him.

" And to think, we have the opportunity to fight them! " Steven grinned.

" The chopper won't be able to fly in this weather! We're on our own. " Atsumu said, returning Decidueye and bringing out Aegislash, Jellicent, and Chandelure.

"That's good. In this situation, anyone who can't stand their ground doesn't belong on this battlefield! " Steven replied, bringing out his Skarmory and Metagross.

" Agreed! " Wallace said, bringing out his Ludicolo and Tenticruel.

Steven mounted his Ksarmory and took off toward the sky while Wallace dived into the sea with Milotic. Using Swords Dance, Aegislash created one sword for Atsumu to stand on and controlled it, as they all flew towards the battle.

As Groudon prepared to launch his next strike, Steven interrupted him, inserting himself into the fight, mega Evolving Metagross before launching himself at Groudon with a Meteor Mash! Groudon raised its left arm, blocking Metagross but the weight of Metagross's charge pushed back Groudon several meters. Groudon dug its feet into the ground, stopping in its tracks as Metagross retreated.

Glowing red eyes locked onto Metagross, Groudon would not let this pest get away scot-free, launching a massive Lava Plume! As soon as the Lava Plume was launched, it was absorbed, and transformed into a swirling tornado of fire all headed towards the source, Chandelure!

Annoyed by the development, Groudon swung its arm into the ground, splitting it down the middle. Roaring, Groudon lifted Its hand violently, breaking up the ground. The force launched stones into the air from below as the ground broke apart until the end of the road.

Groudon's eyes looked from side to side, its senses on high alert for movement. Its eyes widened as it felt something from above but couldn't react in time as Metagross came from above and slammed onto Groudon's head with another Meteor Mash.

Groudon grunted, pushing against Metagross before swinging its head upwards. Wondering where Metagross went, Groudon relieved an answer when Metagross slammed into Groudon's exposed stomach!

Angry, Groudon regained control and grabbed Metagross while slowing down. Knowing Metagross would not be able to escape, Groudon fired a powerful Flamethrower into Metagross... but didn't feel anything in its hands.

Looking up, Groudon stared at Skarmory, Metagross, and Chadelure hovering around him. Steven grinned widely, never expecting Chandelure to have his version of teleport.

' I'll ask Atsumu how that works later. For now, let's have fun. ' Steven thought. ' You ready Metagross? '

' Always. ' Metagross replied.

Observing his adversaries, Groudon let out a growl, sending a chill down the three Pokemon in front of him.

' Strong... '

' ...Strong. ' Metagross thought.

" Huh? " Steven uttered, confused by how shaken up Metagross was when he spoke.

A roar from Groudon snapped Steven put his thoughts, his eyes widened as Skarmory fleed from the lava that was coming from below them!

' A volcano! ' Steven thought, his grin returning.

Steven held on tight as Skarmory's eyes darted around the area to find the best escape route in accordance with the eventual eruptions from the multiple volcanos that were formed around them. As he braced for evasive action, Steven watched as water was poured straight down the volcanoes. His eyes turned towards Atsumu and Aegislash staying near the battle, observing closely.

Aegislash intercepted the attack and used Phantom Force, pumping large amounts of seawater to stop the lava. Groudon stared at this feat, eyes glowing a dim red, staring at Aegislash respectfully.

Roaring, Groudon launched a Precipice Blades at Chandelure who was preoccupied with keeping a Calm Mind. His back was covered, and Metagross launched his own attack at the Precipice Blades. Applying its steel-type aura across the field, Metagross turned the ground into metal, liquid metal to be precise, and attacked with it, canceling out the Precipice Blades.

Pumping more energy, Metagross created more metal, transforming it into a large fist that slammed into Groudon! Groudon's feet no longer touched the ground as the fist kept Groudon in the air before it slammed Groudon into the ground!

Still standing, Groudon looked up to see a massive ball of fire headed his way. With the added benefit of absorbing Groudon's Lava Plume with his Flash Fire ability, along with using Calm Mind multiple times, plus the harsh sunlight, Chandelure fired back with a powerful Overheat!

The explosion caused upon impact was the exact same as an Inferno Overdrive! A colossal tower of pure fire existed for 20 seconds, the force from it shattering the earth in pieces. As the flames died down, Groudon was seen at the center slowly raising its head up and staring directly at Chandelure, fire burning anew at their new competition in terms of firepower.

Kyogre stared at the weaklings in annoyance for being interested in the fight with Groudon. The overgrown lizard was going to get what was coming.

Accelerating underneath the sea, Kyogre fired Origin Pulses at the human riding the Milotic. Milotic dodged the attacks with ease and grace, swimming over the attack, narrowly dodging. Milotic sped up, swimming straight towards the behemoth in front of her, Wallace grinned, his eyes gaining an excited glint as he stared at Kyogre.

' Ludicolo, Solar beam! ' Wallace mentally commanded.

Ludicolo standing on top of the surface of the sea, gathered sunlight, ducked his head under the water's surface, and fired a concentrated beam of grass-type energy.

' Tentacruel, Double Team, Mirror Coat! ' Wallace thought, a grin on his face.

Duplicates of Tentacruel appeared all around as Kyogre watched the solar beam ricochet off each Tentacruel, gaining speed and power with each hit. Like a ball in a pinball machine, the constant ricocheting created an attack that was faster than Kyogre's reaction speed and powerful enough to send Kyogre flying!

Attacked from below, Kyogre was pushed to the surface and blown into the air. Growling, Kyogre's red eyes focused on the Pokemon responsible, promising a painful experience.

A Thunder should do.

A lightning strike from the dark clouds above went straight towards Ludicolo. A purple-black circle appeared in front of the Thunder and sent the attack away, landing somewhere in the distance.

Jellicent appeared atop Kyogre, got in contact with Kyogre, and used Giga Drain. Kyogre felt Its energy being sapped away and roared in anger, a second Thunder descended! This one was also sent away at the last moment by a portal as Kyogre dived into the water and began swimming down at incredible speed, spinning around to shake off Jeliicent.

Jellicent hung on before she let go and teleported back to where Wallace and Milotic were. Kyogre roared in pure rage, water swirling around, and went straight towards the nuisances.

Unavoidable, the attack launched all of them above the sea's surface, a large column of water could be seen for miles as Kyogre's head came above the surface and the temperature dropped. In an instant, the large column of water was frozen along with the surrounding area due to the Sheer Cold.

' Weak... '

Kyogre smirked, adorning a grin, staring at the large frozen pillar before a familiar pink blob appeared in front of its face in an instant. Jellicent calmly looked at Kyogre as multiple energy balls surrounded them. Giving Kyogre a smile, Jellicent fired the energy balls at Kyogre!

Bombarded from all sides, Kyogre roared in pain from the attacks, before blasting all the energy balls away with an Ice Beam. Jellicent teleported out of the way as Kyogre looked around for her, only to see the large Solarbeam coming.

The Solarbeam carried Kyogre away, slamming straight through the Ice Pillar, shattering it into pieces. At the same time, Kyogre was launched quite a distance away from the battlefield, evident by the large splash in the distance.

Kyogre retained consciousness, anger coursed through its veins. The peons who dared interrupt and are proving to be extremely annoying will be destroyed. Kyogre growled and swam towards the fight once more.

Atsumu watched from afar with Aegislash by his side, his face lacking any ounce of thrill.

' Aegislash... if you could mega evolve... what would you look like? ' Atsumu thought.

' ...Huh? ' Aegislash uttered in confusion, his large glowing red eye staring at Atsumu. ' Where... no, why are you asking? '

'Curiosity... ' Atsumu answered.

' Atsumu... Tell me. ' Aegislsash said.

' ... Well, I think there might be a way for you to mega evolve, at least just once in your lifetime. ' Atsumu explained.

' And how would that be possible? ' Aegislash asked while using Shadow Force to redirect fire towards Chandelure.

' By absorbing energy from the stone. ' Atsumu answered.

' I see... but why? ' Aegislash asked as another explosion of flames occurred in the distance.

' I feel like doing something special... a special attack right now. ' Atsumu thought.

'... We are fighting legendaries. ' Aegislash reminded.

' I know... ' Atsumu said. ' Which is why I think... we can use a Z-move. '

' Huh... it has been quite a while since we used one. ' Aegislash reminded, redirecting a Solarbeam to hit Kyogre and knock them to the side.

' It has... and at least now... ' Atsumu pointed at Groudon and Kyogre. ' We have targets who can take one, probably. '

' Giving it our all, even if it's just for one attack... I'd like that. ' Aegislash said.

' Guess we'll be giving it a try. ' Atsumu thought, a smirk on his face.

" Holy Arceus, it is cold!! "

" ...oh, you're back. How'd it go? " Atsumu asked after turning around to see Zinnia and Alain with Claydol.

" Good! We may have something to summon Rayquaza! " Alain yelled, getting on the back of Charizard.

" Will it work? " Atsumu asked.

" We think so! " Zinnia said from atop her Salamence.

" Alright then, go for it. " Atsumu encouraged.

Zinnia nodded and looked towards Alain. Alain gave her thumbs up as Zinnia took a deep breath.

" Okay Salamence, get in front of the rock. " Zinnia said.

With a growl, Salamence flew in front of the floating stone. Clasping her hands together, exhaling a deep breath, Zinnia began to chant.

" With Jewel bright and borrowed might from the spirits of the departed... "

" Through sacred rite, in the great sight, my life as well I offer... "

Groudon and Kyogre stop in their tracks, a familiar feeling welling within them. Staring across the battlefield, they see a Salamence and someone riding atop, their hands clasped together. Images from the past overlap, their bodies move on reflex. Precipice Blades and Origin Pulse launched simultaneously at Zinnia. They travel the distance in an instant, cutting through the air in a frenzy. Zinnia stares ahead, the attacks about to reach...

Before a purple-black screen appeared in front of her.

The Precipice Blades went on through and slammed into Kyogre's underbelly, launching Kyogre high into the sky and a far distance back. The Origin Pulses all landed at point blank range into Groudon successively, avoiding the Desolate sunlight and didn't evaporate, thus pushing Groudon back thousands of kilometers.

" I summon thee... to aid this fight... and save us from disaster. "

Above in the Ozone layer, Rayquaza turned its head down towards Earth, down towards Hoenn.

" Realise them upon this world! For this, I do summon thee "

A Jewel shining bright, energy that was once had a long time ago, all needed to stop two immature children.

" Rayquaza. "

As Zinnia completed her chant, only the sound of heavy rain was heard. Groudon and Kyogre got up and shook off the damage as they stared at the sky. A hole in the dark clouds occurred, the sun visible to all in the vicinity, shining above Sootopolus city. The citizens watched in awe at the sight along with the combatants on the battlefield, all staring at the third legendary Pokemon of Hoenn making their appearance.

Rayquaza bursts onto the battlefield.

With a mighty roar, Rayquaza shook everyone down to their core. Glancing at Zinnia briefly, Rayquaza gave a slight nod toward her before turning toward Groudon and Kyogre. Making a face of annoyance, Rayquaza absorbed the energy from the stone as Groudon and Kyogre roared, both in annoyance at being interrupted.

They won't be denied this fight again.

Readying themselves, Primal Groudon and Kyogre prepared to fight Mega Rayquaza. Pressure began to rise, and only sounds of waves crashing and rain falling were heard, while three behemoths stared each other down.

With a twitch from Rayquaza's figure, Chandelure and Jellicent quickly teleported, grabbing Steven and Wallace, along with their Pokemon to safety, as Kyogre fired an Ice Beam at Rayquaza.

Rayquza dodged the attack, body twisted around the attack as it passed by. Kyogre's eyes widened as Rayquaza appeared directly in front with a Dragon Pulse charged up. A sonic boom occurred at the same moment Rayquaza blasted Kyogre thousands of miles, making Kyogre skip across the water before coming to a halt!

The air felt hot, Rayquaza turned around to look at Groudon. From the depths of the ocean, arose a giant ice volcano, and with a roar, it erupted!

Magma rushed to the surface in a frenzy, launched into the sky above, and came falling back down towards the ground! Bright red illuminated the battlefield, rain Magma coming down like a torrential downpour!

Rayquza growled, twisting and turning, avoiding the attack, and flew high into the sky. Getting out of range, Rayquaza gave Groudon a smirk, Dragon-type energy swelling, leaking around for all to feel and shiver.

Groudon growled as Rayquza roared, the energy dispersing quickly, heading upwards to wrap around asteroids in space and pull them down to Earth!

From behind the dark clouds, fireballs could be seen, until they pierced through, revealing Meteorites coming down!

Groudon used Protect, a light green-blue barrier appearing, as the Meteorites made contact!

Explosions occurred upon impact, large volumes of water were battered into the air, while parts of the earth were destroyed, crakes appearing on the ground and dispersing tectonic plates!

Tsunamis were created, heavy steam in the air from magma making contact with water, eruptions occurring left and right, and even meteors falling.

Atsumu felt it, his heart beginning to beat faster. Kyogre's cry in the distance, an Origin pulse cutting through the air, Rayquza dodged the attacks and flew away, yet the attacks followed behind.

Blue entering his eyes, Atsumu watched the sky become filled with blue lines. Rayquaza used Extreme Speed to dodge the Origin Pulses, getting high into the sky.

Turning around, Rayquza dived straight down toward the ocean. Kyogre screamed and a Thunder descended from the clouds above! However, Rayquza was faster with its Dragon Ascent!

As the Thunder slammed into the Earth, Rayquza sped off toward the duo! Groudon roared, the ground shifted underneath, rocketing Groudon forward. The heat emitted from Groudon's entire body, heading straight towards Rayquaza for a head-on head Clash, Dragon Ascent vs Heat Crash!

Slamming into Groudon, Rayquza pushed Groudon back. Groudon's feet dig into the Earth, holding on! Dust flew everywhere, hiding the two Legendaries before Rayquza flew out and headed straight for Kyogre.

Kyogre dived into the water, swimming out of Rayquaza's range, and created a multitude of Origin Pulses. Firing them, the Origin Pulses erupted from below, heading upwards! Rayquaza quickly blocked with Protect as the attacks created holes in the dark clouds, allowing sunlight to come through for a few moments, shining light upon this once-in-a-lifetime battle.

Groudon stood tall, eyes on its two adversaries from the ground. Kyogre resurfaced, eyes on its two adversaries from the comfort of the sea. Rayquaza flew above, eyes on its two adversaries as a strong gust of wind went by.

Atsumu's heartbeat had shot through the roof, his eyes shining brightly in wonder, his face unable to stop the massive grin from forming.

A battle between legendaries, a battle between gods, a three-way deadlock with an entire region hanging in the balance!

' If I didn't have Jellicent, Chandelure, and Aegislash disperse some of the attacks to minimize threats to Sootopolus, the entire city would have been wiped out as simply a by-product! ' Atsumu thought.

His heart kept pounding inside his chest, he couldn't stop smiling, this was a battle of insane proportions!

" How frickin' cool is that?! " Atsumu exclaimed, similar to a child seeing something awesome for the first time.

" I want in... " Atsumu chuckled. " It's not fair for only you to be able to have like this, I want to have fun too. "

" Hey guys... " Atsumu called out to his team, bringing out more Pokeballs. " Get ready... "

Releasing Marshadow, Decidueye and Froslass, Atsumu spoke in a tone that had his Pokemon have smiles on their faces, matched by the large grin on their trainer's face.

" We're crashing this banquet of monsters! "
