Jax spent the next seven days learning as much as he could from his new teacher, Sabrina. By the end of the day on the first day he arrived, he was able to beat Floor 7 and officially enter Floor 8. As per Sabrina's promise, she had been teaching Jax for the same amount of time for as many floors as he had surpassed. Jax thought that the two would just keep continuing up the floors with her giving him tips and tricks but he was completely wrong.
The way Sabrina trained Jax was closer to torture than teaching. In the games and anime, Sabrina hated fighting but that was only because she found everyone who challenged her to be a waste of her time. With how much talent Jax had shown with his psionic powers; however, Sabrina was very, very interested in training him. As such, the two spent every day on the battlefield and did as she first suggested on day one, they battled! Not with pokemon but directly against each other using nothing but their psionic abilities!
After the week-long training, Jax was able to compress the Psion from inside himself at a faster rate and more accurately control the amount of Psion released. Although his psychic level didn't increase past level 7, they did take on a more qualitative change. Before, Jax had enough Psion inside himself to levitate objects way heavier than he was. In fact, he could have done it even at level 3 before his awakening inside Nidoking's cave. The only reason he wasn't able to was because he didn't know how to accurately control how much power to release. Even with an ocean's worth of mental energy, Jax was only able to release a stream's worth!
Saying goodbye to the Count and thanking him for his hospitality, Jax and Metsys flew off towards the bird carrier's drop off and pick up point. Although he could now levitate himself and others, flying all the way back to his house for six hours was still overkill. Hoping onto the back of a Pidgeot, the two set off towards Grandpa Rick's house to pick up his two pokemon before going back home.
When the Pidgeot dropped the two off at Grandpa Rick's house, Jax saw from the air that the three of them were in the back. Wanting to show his pokemons what he had learned while they were separated, Jax levitated Metsys and himself and flew over the over to go meet the trio. Dropping from the sky, the two of them gave two pokemon and an old man quite the fright!
"You bloody grandson! You almost gave your old granddad a heart attack! Imagine killing your own grandpa, tsk!" While the old man was grumbling, the trainer and his pokemon caught up with one another.
Looking at their stats, Jax was surprised to find that both of them learned all three moves they each wanted to learn. Not only that, because they spent the whole week training only those three moves exclusively, their mastery level had actually raised by one! Not only that, since a week had passed, the newborn Beldum's grade had finally settled in. When it first hatched, like all other pokemon, it had a question mark by its Diamond grade potential but after a week, it had now risen up to Dense Diamond grade! His second pokemon with Dense Diamond grade potential!
Looking at both of them, Jax wondered if he should use that Grade: EX coupon he received so long ago. Since neither pokemon seemed like they were struggling at the moment, Jax decided to save it for future use. The real issue now was to think of a name for his new partner! While most trainers in this world and in the previous one just kept their pokemon's name the same as their species, Jax felt like each of his pokemon should be given a unique name. After all, he wouldn't like to just be called Human but everyone else since that wasn't a name, just the name of his race!
"Mhm. I'm usually so bad with names though." Thinking about names from his past life, Jax remembered that at one point in his life, he was obsessed the Latin words. Taking inspiration from that, Jax had a eureka moment! Interitus! In Latin, it could be associated with destruction! Remembering his time against the Metagrosses, Jax felt like it was perfect!
"Beldum, from now on, I'll call you Teritus! It's a name derived from another one that means destruction! May you wreak havoc on all your enemies!"
Sounding happy with finally receiving its own name, Teritus flew around Jax before drilling right into him. Although painful, Jax just laughed it off and hugged the lump of metal. Looking at his stats, Jax didn't know any other pokemon at level 1 who was as powerful as his Beldum!
After catching up with his grandfather, Jax finally said his goodbyes and levitated Vioarr and Metsys. Teritus could already levitate by himself so Jax didn't have to worry about it. Flying in the direction of his house, Jax couldn't wait to go back home and see his mother. This was the longest time he's ever spent away from her and he really missed her. After a short flight, after seven days away from home, Jax was finally home! As he landed in front of his house, Jax was about to run in when he noticed the door was slight ajar. Finding it odd, Jax had a bad feeling and quickly entered inside. What he found was devastation as if someone or something had come through and ransacked the whole place!
"Mommy! Mommy, where are you!? Please answer me if you're here!" Jax's first response was to make sure his mother was okay. Running throughout the house, Jax checked every room, closet and hiding place he could think of. Flipping the house and destroying it even further than the state it was already in, Jax found no trace of his mother. Not even a single piece of hair could be found!
'Arcanine! He must know something!' Running out to the back garden where all of his mother's pokemon were, Jax held hope that maybe they would all be there and could give me a clue about what happened while he was away. Reaching the gate leading to the garden, Jax noticed that there was sign of battle everywhere! With scorched burn marks decorating the grass and traces of powder from Butterfree, Jax was devasted to find that none of his mother's pokemons were anywhere to be seen. Just as Jax was about to head back inside the house, the ground started moving like something underneath was making its way towards him!
Not knowing what was coming, Jax got into battle position and ordered Vioarr and Teritus to prepare. Just as they were about to attack, Jax noticed that it was a pokemon he was all too familiar with! It was one of his mother's pokemon who he played with in the past, Graveler!
