Chapter 33

Preparing for the inevitably tough fight ahead of them, the two put step three into motion. Vioarr was critical for this step because he would have to do everything from this point on. Spraying a purple, bubbling liquid throughout the hive, not a single surface wasn't the same shade as he was. Vioarr had just used level 4 Venom Drench to cover the entire hive in acid and with his level 3 Toxic Spike, the floor was littered in tiny, sharp barbs. Now, the bees will enter their once-home-now-turned-battlefield hive and instantly be debuffed. All the while, Jax was hiding inside one of the cells telepathically communicating with Vioarr and letting him know what the outside situation was like.

"Well, Brother. We've done everything we can at this point. The only thing left to do is wait for the prey to come directly to their graves. If I don't make it out of this place with you, know that I wouldn't have wanted anyone else as my brother. I love yo-."

"Shut up, stupid! Don't go raising any flags! If you don't make it back with me, I won't have anywhere to leave my face when I go back home. Hmph! I also don't want to deal with your dad if only I ran away leaving you to fight for your life. You were there for me every step of the way from the day I first started my journey to become the best pokemon trainer and you'll be there to see me claim that title. That's final. Now, shut up and prepare. They're getting close." With that heart-warming conversation, the two quieted down, the only noise to be heard was the sound of BZZT! getting progressively closer.

BZZT! SPLASH!

BZZT! SPLASH!

As the Beedrills entered the hive one by one, they all landed on the poison-soaked walls. For the truly unfortunate ones, they landed down on the floor that was both covered in poisonous liquid and an even more poisonous barb. Confused, the Beedrills looked around and spotted a purple lizard staring at them with contempt.

"Stupid fools. There was poison leaking out of the hive and you still flew right in. Since you're so dumb, I don't even have it in me to be mad anymore. Now, I just want to get this over with." Finishing his words, Vioarr casted his newly learned TMs that Jax picked up yesterday, as well. Protect! Endure! Casting buffs onto himself, Vioarr made sure that none of the Beedrills could one-shot him should he messes up that bad.

Before entering the hive, Jax and Vioarr went over their game plan. Play it safe, play it smart: tactic Circle 1. It was a well-rounded tactic that didn't emphasize too much into attacking or defending. This was the Beedrills home turf and the duo weren't omnipotent. Any variable could drastically change the dynamics of the battle so the two decided that it would be better to be safe than sorry. After casting his two buff moves, Vioarr also casted his maxed-out Leer on all the Beedrills, twice. Now, all that was left was step four of their plan, bug extermination! An intense hour later, two purple blobs could be seen crawling out of the hive's entrance. BZZT! Pat!

"Looks like that one was more resilient than the others. Ugh, I can't get the taste of this Antidote out of my mouth! Let's hurry some so I can wash up and brush my teeth."

"Mhm, after today, I don't ever want to see or hear another bug. Do you have any idea what it was like to be surrounded by nothing but BZZT! in your ears the whole time. You know how sensitive my ears are!"

"Yeah, after today, I think it's time we move our hunting location. We've grown too strong for Thora Forest, so I was thinking about heading towards either Ryul Woods to the south or Yulti Mountains to the east."

"Mhm, sounds good to me, but are you really sure you don't regret not catching one of those Beedrills? Or maybe even one of the Weedles? I think they had pretty good grade potentials."

Giving Vioarr a sour look, Jax shook his head and replied, "I mean, sure some of them were pretty decent. A lot of the ones I checked out actually had Gold grade potential. If they were that high, the Queen must have been at least Platinum grade. If it was any other pokemon, I would have caught all of them. Even if I can't use them all, I could still use them for breeding purposes and sell off any of the weaker ones. But since they were your mother's killers, I have no regrets about leaving a single one alive."

Vioarr looked towards Jax and found that he was nothing but serious. With a knowing smile, Vioarr didn't reply and just walked side-by-side with Jax headed off towards Nidoking's cave. Trekking through the forest, the two decided to ignore any pokemon unless they started a fight with them first. After so much carnage today, the two didn't want to destroy any other families. First was the Paras and Parasects, then the Spearows and Fearows, followed by the Beldums and Metagross family the other day and now a whole hive of Beedrills and Weedles. It looks like Jax and Vioarr are destined to rip families apart. What goes around comes around, I guess.

Reaching the entrance of the cave, the two made a quick detour to a nearby pond where they could clean themselves off of the poison currently coating their bodies. Jax also made sure to thoroughly rinse out his mouth before either one jumped in so that he could finally get rid of the Antidote's after taste. Once the two were all sparkly again, they ran off towards the cave to tell Nidoking how their bug extermination today went. Listening to the two rambling off and even reenacting some of the scenes, Nidoking had a pleased smile adoring his mouth. Closing his eyes, he pictured his partner that had the scaliest, but softest hide and biggest bu-AHEM! Ignore that last part.

"You know what was weird though? We hunted down everything in that hive, but I don't think I ever saw a trace of their Queen. No way she didn't notice us with how loud we were."

"Yeah, I might have been super focused on killing whatever was in front of me but not a single bee at the end of my horn seemed like their Queen. Maybe she just didn't care about her children?"

"I already took care of her when they first invaded my cave. That was what held me back from rescuing my wife. Finding my cold wife on the forest floor, I then went back and ate the Queen."
