Greninja frowned hearing Bayleef's words and thought 'Did something big happen in the past 5 years?'

Bayleef didn't care what Greninja was thinking and started summarizing everything from 5 years ago up to the present time.

Hearing Bayleef's story Greninja experienced a roller coaster of emotion, he felt sad, disappointed, betrayed, and anger. he really didn't expect that his Master would be treated like this by his very own pokemon and trusted partner.

He then glanced at the pokemon around him and said in a sad tone, "So you are the only ones left huh."

Bayleef nodded, "Apart from us there is also Sceptile and Alakazam who are currently sleeping and meditating."

Greninja sat down on the grass and kept quiet for a while, the other pokemon didn't disturb him and they resumed what they were doing earlier.

After thinking things over Greninja stood up and approached Bayleef, "Can I meet Master?" from what he saw earlier he deduced that she is the de facto leader of this group.

"Sure, follow me," Bayleef said as she entered the house followed by Greninja.

Ash was currently sleeping peacefully in his room, he didn't need to be cautious because he fully trusts his pokemon which is why he didn't sense Greninja's presence even though he was already outside the room.

Bayleef stopped in front of the door and didn't knock instead she sent a telepathic message, "Master, someone wants to see you."

"Hmm?" Ash who was woken up by Bayleef frowned, he knew that Bayleef wouldn't disturb his sleep if there weren't any important matters to be discussed.

He was about to reply when he suddenly felt a familiar presence outside of the door, he closed his eyes and a few moments later a small smile appeared on his face.

"You can come in," Ash said while staring at the door.

*Creaaaak*

The door slowly opened and a Greninja slowly entered the room, Bayleef chose to leave and left Greninja alone so that they can have their reunion without any disturbance.

Ash stood up and said while looking at Greninja, "Long time no see, Greninja."

Greninja stood straight and just stared at Ash for a whole minute, he then approached him and gave his trainer a tight hug.

"I'm home, Master," Greninja said using telepathy.

Ash nodded his head as he caressed patted Greninja's back and said, "You really got stronger this past few years, huh."

"It's all because of Zygarde, Master," Greninja replied, he then started explaining about how he can absorb some of the aura coming from the roots that help him strengthen his body and power.

The two of them started talking to each other well it was mostly Greninja talking about his experience and what he has done this past few years.

"Master, now that I am back I will surely win the championship trophy for you," Greninja said with confidence.

Ash smiled, grateful at Greninja's thoughts but he shook his head and explained, "I already promised those rascals out there their fighting schedules and I also don't want to renege on my promise."

Greninja upon hearing this lowered his head and disappointed.

Seeing the disappointed look on Greninja's face, Ash laughed and rubbed his head while saying, "Why are you acting all sad? don't you know that after winning the championship that I can challenge any champions that I want and it just so happens that Alan is here"

He then stared at Greninja who raised his head and asked, "So, how about it? want to redeem yourself?"

Greninja's eyes widened and he nodded his head aggressively making Ash laugh.

"It is settled then, you will take on Alan's team all by yourself I believe that you can do it."

Ash decided to use Greninja in his fight against Alan because he felt the enormous power sleeping within Greninja that was waiting to burst out.

"We're home!"

Delia announced as they entered the house carrying bags of groceries.

Serena who was beside Delia made her way towards the kitchen to put down the groceries when she suddenly saw Ash leaving his room along with a pokemon she was clearly familiar with.

"AH! Greninja?!" Serena exclaimed as she stared at Greninja standing behind Ash.

Greninja nodded his head greeting Serena who was his Master's companion when they were journeying Kalos Region.

Ash approached Serena and took the huge bags in her hands and went inside the kitchen to place them there.

"My baby boy only helps Serena but you wouldn't even help your mother carry these heavy bags." Delia who just arrived saw Ash helping Serena and said with a fake cry.

Greninja who was at the side took the bags on Delia's hands and also followed his Master in the kitchen.

"Why did you bought so many groceries, mom?" Ash asked ignoring his mother's little antics.

Delia pouted and replied, "You just passed the group stage so we should at least celebrate, I invited your other friends so that is why I bought enough food for all of us."

Ash sighed hearing this and said, "You also invited Iris? you know that she just lost right?"

"Hm? what's the problem with that? she still passed the group stage right? so there is no need to worry about her feeling down." Delia said as she passed by Ash and started preparing food with the help of Jessie.

Ash was really speechless with his mom these past few days, she became a lot more aggressive unlike her ladylike manners in the past.

Serena who was at the side giggled seeing Ash's reaction and followed entered the kitchen to help them out.

"Let's go out Greninja." Ash could only shake his head and led Greninja outside.

"Master!"

As they stepped out of the door Bayleef dashed towards him, she glanced at Greninja and greeted him with a smile.

Ash patted Bayleef's head which made her feel comfortable, she then followed beside Ash as they approached the backyard which became a training field.

Bayleef knew that her Master wanted to announce something so she already gathered the blockheads and they were now all lined up in front of Ash.

Scanning each of his pokemon Ash then looked at Greninja and announced, "Starting today Greninja will be part of the team."

He then paused for a moment then continued, "Seeing that Greninja just returned and this your first time meeting each other I will allow each one of you to spar against him so that there won't any dissatisfaction with him joining the team."

As Ash finished his speech, Charizard stepped forward and said, "Master, let me spar with Greninja first."

The other pokemon upon seeing Charizard step up all rolled their eyes, they stepped back and gave the two pokemon enough space to spar.

"Who do you think will win?" Samurott asked Alakazam who was beside him.

Alakazam observed Greninja and replied, "I don't know, I am surprised Greninja has an aura that is similar to ours."

Samurott nodded his head in agreement and proposed, "How about we bet? If I win then you should relinquish your participation in the top 16 battle and let me battle instead. then if lose then you can ask anything from me."

Alakazam glanced at Samurott and smacked his spoon on his forehead, "Why would I even bet with you? Master told me to meditate so I will go back now." he then teleported out of the area and went back to his training spot.

"What a scaredy-cat." Samurott snorted, he then approached Garchomp and proposed a bet only to be ignored by the latter.
