Vermilion City

(Meanwhile with the Abra and Alakazam show.)

Alakazam was eating pancakes as Abra continued her pestering from yesterday, [Senior Brother!]

[Stop calling me that, I already told you it's weird.] Alakazam said.

[Imposible, I will call you senior brother and you can call me junior sister.] Abra said in her playful voice.

[Stop, just tell me what you want, or I'll throw you out of this window] Alakazam said about ready to use Psychic against the small fox-like Pokemon.

[How dare you bully your Junior sister like this? Are you courting death.] Abra said, but Alakazam just stared blankly, [This junior sister wants to know if you can help a Pokemon that the master has.]

Abra teleported and brought Bulbasaur with her, [Wha- why did you grab me I was talking to Venusaur!]

[Relax Junior brother, your elder sister will take care of you.] Abra said before looking at Alakazam, [You see it too senior brother don't you.]

[Yes I can tell the bud on his back is weak, almost like he hasn't gotten sunlight for a long time.] Alakazam analyzed and Bulbasuaar just looked confused.

[You see Junior brother, your mana core is damaged, it must have weakened during your time protecting that jade beauty you served.] Abra said.

[Wait two questions 1, Why do you keep talking like that? And 2 what do you mean my bud is damaged.] Bulbasaur asked.

[Well I want to know the answer to the first myself, but as for the second it means you are going to have trouble doing anything if you don't heal it, and if you exert yourself before then then you will cause your body even more damage.] Alakazam said.

[You see Junior brother, your mana core is damaged, How will you accomplish your potential and become the plum blossom saint to save the fallen Mount Hua Sect.] Abra said

Both Bulbasaur and Alakazam looked at Abra before ignoring her, [So how should I heal it?]

[Well the strangest part is that it seems to already be healing at an extremely fast rate, there seems to be some kind of outside energy that feels familiar, as long as you stay in the sun you will heal in potentially a month or two potentially less.] Alakazam said.

[Isn't that great junior brother, You will heal soon and become a true plum blossom saint, Isn't your senior sister great I will take your praise now.] Abra said, expecting something to come.

Bulbasaur and Alakazam looked at Abra then at each other then started walking away while talking to each other.

Meanwhile, Yellow was just watching the show since she understood them, it was better than most TV shows nowadays.

(A/N: BTW does anyone have a recommendation for a name the Pokemon can call their trainers despite Master, I used it here since Abra is meant to make fun of Wuxia and it was fitting, but I don't know about everyone else.).

(Back to the group after Breakfast.)

Everyone had eaten and Misty offered to clean the dishes this time, so Brock was speaking to Bill mainly to find the direction to Vermilion City, which he revealed to only be a few hours from the lighthouse, they could probably reach it before lunch.

After Misty came back, Brock suggested that they shouldn't overstay their welcome and get on their way. Misty was more than willing and Yellow finished watching the show.

"Thank You for letting us stay the night," Misty said, thankful she didn't have to spend another night camping out.

"I should be thanking you, it has been so long since I had good company with good food, I even got to learn some things," Bill said before turning to Ash.

"Ash good luck with Surge, I know you are already prepared but Surge is known as the wall that makes most trainers quit, in fact only 2 challengers ever beat him on the first try, I bet you can guess who."

Ash smiled, "Well I guess that will just make things all the sweeter when I win."

Bill also smiled, "Well you all are always welcome here, and Ash if your theories are true then I'll be sure to credit you."

"Thanks, We might just take you up on that offer, but you don't have to," Ash said, 'After all I already have a plan to make a lot of money.'

Bill nodded and everyone started walking away from the lighthouse.

"He was nice," Brock said.

"And we got to see that cool Pokemon, I wonder where it came from," Yellow said.

"And we are going to get to civilization soon and I will be able to take a bath," Misty said more excited than everyone else.

"Don't forget we are getting you guys more changes of clothes, Seriously you're starting to smell," Ash said and yawned a bit.

Misty looked like she wanted to yell at him but she knew he was right, "*Sigh* you have a point, but do you even think they have anything similar to what we have?"

"Honestly probably not, Vermilion is a port town, if you wanted something vaguely similar to your style I would wait for Saffron since it is the biggest city in Kanto, or for you and Yellow probably Celadon since it probably has better female clothes. But then again they might have just gotten a shipment from your town."

"Well anyway, how confident are you in beating Surge?" Brock asked.

"Well as I am now I probably have maybe a 10% chance of winning, but if I can prepare for a few days I can probably get a solid 60%"

They all looked surprised, "Why do you think you have such a low chance?" Yellow asked.

"Well, I can't buy held items until we get to the department store in Saffron, so until then I am at a disadvantage."

Lt. Surge was where Kanto would actually get hard, for someone with 2 gym badges he has an Electrode with a Focus Sash to make use of the fact that it is built like a piece of paper, a Magneton with a Eviolite, a Electabuzz with a Black Belt, and finally a Life orb Raichu. On top of that, his gym creates a permanent electric terrain, so the odds are stacked against him.

"It's fine though I will just prepare the best I can, but anyway enough about my thing What about you guys Do any of you all have any plans for Vermilion."

"Well, I was doing some research to see where this year's breeding competitions were, as far as I can see there isn't one announced yet until next month," Brock said.

"I was just going to go to the beach then maybe go fishing for some more Pokemon," Misty said.

Yellow was staying quiet, she still wasn't sure what she wanted to do, She knew her Pokemon wanted to evolve but she didn't like battling since she was afraid of her friends getting hurt if she did something wrong.

She was taken out of her thoughts by hearing Ash say, "Hey something on your mind?"

Looking to her side Ash was walking beside her and Brock and Misty were walking in front of them leading the way.

"N-no I'm fine, it's just I was thinking about how all of you guys have your own goals, and yet I still don't know what I am doing," Yellow said sadly while looking at her Pokeballs.

"It's fine to be unsure of what you're doing, I mean that's why you came with me in the first place. I'm sure you'll find whatever you want to do eventually, and hey we are in no rush." Ash said in a comforting tone.

Hearing what Ash said she seemed to cheer up, "Thanks,"

"Don't mention it," Ash said before turning to Brock and Misty, "You know we are going to have to tell them sooner rather than later."

"I know, but how are we going to tell them?" Yellow said, "Most kids in Viridian either made fun of me or avoided me when they found out."

"The simplest way would be to show them there are more than just us two, but we don't know anyone else who can do something similar." Ash said, "But there is no point in worrying about that now, if we can find a better way to tell them we will."

A few hours later the group finally reached Vermilion.

"Finally, it feels like forever since we left Cerulean," Misty said, "I want to go take a bubble bath."

"I have to hit the Laundromat," Brock said.

"I want to explore the city," Yellow said in excitement looking around at the town.

"Don't forget you need to get a change of clothes since for some reason you all thought it was a good idea to go on a journey that would take multiple months with one pair of clothes."

They all decided to walk around the city and look around the port where the S.S. Anne and S.S. Aqua were docked.

There was also a department building where they all went into to buy some changes of clothes, but Ash walked outside to an ice cream stand, mainly to see Surge's Gym, at the same time 3 challengers were leaving the gym all around 10 years old, a few bit older.

"I can't believe I lost again, the Lieutenant is no joke." one of the kids said.

"Yeah, I can't even get past his first Pokemon," the second kid said.

Out the gym doors was Surge, he was a very large and muscular man, "You three shouldn't be discouraged it is only natural you all lost to me, after all, I have had my Pokemon since back in the war, the secret is you must train with your pokemon, do that and you will end up being as strong as me in both battles and your body," Surge said as he flexed.

The kids looked starstruck seeing Surge talk to them and as they walked away the third kid spoke up, "Wow he is so cool, and did you hear him say we can become like him, I want to go train right now."

"Hey I have a jar of Surge's protein powder at home, let's go over there and start training." Kid 1 said. And so all three yelled in the air and ran off to do their own thing.

'So that is Surge, well I can't say I was expecting anything different, I was hoping I could at least figure out if he was evil here or just condescending. Well, I guess the easiest way is to look at the Pokemon center and see if any Pokemon are dying.'

After a bit of time, everyone came out with at least one new pair of clothes that looked similar enough to their original outfits.

"Are you all Ready?" Ash called out to them with Pikachu holding and eating an Ice Cream cone as well.

"Yep, so now let's Go to the Pokemon center and Take a nice long bath!" Misty said in excitement as they all followed her.

But along the way, Ash saw a certain girl that looked familiar to him. She was selling some held items to trainers, She had a familiar one-piece black dress with white gloves.

Ash immediately knew who this was, 'I guess some things never change,' he thought before he got a mischievous grin, 'Oh this is going to be fun.'
