Episode 36: Shellfish

They breeze through the following routes and reach Fuchsia City. They take a break at the local Pokemon Center to discuss the plan for Koga's gym.

Rai: Okay, so like I said, Koga is a poison type gym leader with 4 Pokemon.

Ivy: I'll sit this one out.

Leon: Wart, I need you to sit this out too.

Wart: What, why? I haven't been able to participate in a gym battle since Pewter City.

Leon: Eve called while we were waiting for you and Rai back in Celadon and she was telling us about another HM we'll definitely need on our adventure and its here in Fuchsia, HM Surf. You can find in the Safari Zone.

Wart: Fine, but the next gym I get to actually do something.

Rai: The next one is psychic type so you'll be good.

He leave to the Safari Zone, pays the fee, and has 30 minutes to find the Hidden Machine. He get's lost in the first area and waste all of his time. He pays the fee again and progresses a slight bit more into area 2 but is overwhelmed by the Pokemon and runs out of time again. Third attempt and he makes it to area 3 but gets distracted by a green Tauros and runs out of time for a 3rd time. He's gone through almost all the money the others gave him and he only has one more shot at this. Runs through area 1 and 2. Dodges all the Pokemon attacking him in area 3. He ducks into a house in area 4 to take a breather and finds it.

Wart: Finally, and with time to spare to do a little training.

He goes to grab the item when a Pokemon burst through the door. A Kangaskhan. Before he could even get a word out, the Kangaskhan charges at Wart and uses Mega Punch to send him through the roof of the house. He gets back up only to find himself surroundee by Kangaskhans. The Pokemon beat on the poor boy, unable to fight back due to the sheer number of them. After they're through with him, they through him into the waters, the leader Kangaskhan boasting about beating a kid with 3 other goons of its. As they walk away, a massive wave of water takes out the weaker Kangaskans with a single attack. Out emerges Wart, a Blastoise Pokeman, with his newly learned Surf.

Wart: I'm not losing to a Kangaskhan for a second time.

He charges up a blast of water with his newly gained cannons but runs out of time and is kicked out.

Wart: Man, at least I got this, can't wait to use such a powerful move in the next gym.
