Episode 26: Mouse

Lt. Surge: You kids are pretty good, but another double knockout and you lose! Raichu, go!

Last is Rai against his evolution. He runs around the Raichu, trying to disorient it, but it just runs in front of him and hits him with a Quick Attack. Rai tried to do the same but is outsped by it. it seem like its superior in every way possible.

Lt. Surge: What do you expect? You're fighting a Pokemon that is stronger than you in in every way imaginable! Its like a little kid fighting a grown man!

Rai: Yeah, sure. But I know I'm better. I'll find out how.

Lt. Surge: I guess we'll see, Raichu, Quick Attack!

Surge uses Quick Attack over and over again, slapping around Rai, forcing him to eat the Sitrus Berry Leon gave him. He lands a few Slams and Thunder Shocks but it does little to no damage.

Lt. Surge: Alright kid, before I knock you out, let me give you a little bit of advice. Get yourself a Thunder Stone and come back. Then we'll have a far battle!

Rai: This battle is very far. Check this out.

He pulls the Thunder Stone from his pocket to show to Surge, but then throws it away to Una.

Rai: I know I'm stronger, and I'll win this gym badge. Right now.

Rai starts running around again but he gets fast and faster using Double Team to create more and more afterimages. Soon there are almost 100 of Rai. The Raichu would get rid of 1 and 2 more would appear, unable to find the real Rai.

Rai: It seemed like you evolved your Pikachu before it could learn anymore moves after Quick Attack. Now, like I said, I win.

He uses one more Slam on the Raichu, a critical hit, knocking it out.

Lt. Surge: Good job proving me wrong! You figured out the one weakness you could exploit.

Rai: Yeah, you weren't using any attacks stronger than Quick Attack so I figured you didn't have any.

Lt. True, that's the one problem with evolving Pokemon with stones early. You earned this badge!

He hands him the badge and before they leave, Surge give Rai one last piece of advice.

Lt. Surge: I recommend evolving when you reach a battle that's truly impossible to win without it. It should be a last resort.

Rai: Thanks, I'll remember that.

They leave, another step closer to the Indigo League, and more knowledge on how to get even closer to their goal. They proceed to route 11, as the journey continues.

Episode End.
