Pokemon: Gym Leader

"Champion Lance, it’s said that you challenged the Rota Gym yesterday, correct?" A reporter interviews the Champion Lance. "I refuse to answer," Lance replies tersely. "It's said that you battled the Rota Gym Leader with your full team and got completely swept. Is that true?" "I refuse to answer," Lance responds with a cold expression. "It's rumored that after your defeat, the Rota Gym Leader made you change your online name to 'Dodo' for half a month. Is that true?" "I refuse to answer," Lance, now called 'Dodo,' replies, clearly irritated. "What’s your opinion of the Rota Gym Leader?" "I thought having three Dragonites in my team made me invincible, but he had the nerve to set up a hail team on the spot and completely counter me with four Alolan Ninetales! What do I think? This is outrageous! Who let him become a Gym Leader?" ----- If you want to get an early access some chapters you can visit my patreon. Patreon: RockyRoad891

Chapter 140: Mother

In the guest lounge of the Battle Pyramid King.

"I heard that you're still searching for Regice, correct?" Dylan took a sip of the tea prepared by Brandon's assistant and asked Brandon.

It wasn't clear what conversation had transpired between Brandon and Carsey while they talked alone outside, but when Carsey returned, he looked shaken and deeply unsettled.

Hmm, probably had a good 'chat' with Brandon.

"That's right. And I've also found some clues regarding the location of Regice's seal," Brandon smiled faintly at the mention of Regice, clearly the most important matter to him at the moment.

Once he found Regice, he could capture the third of the legendary titans.

"Mr. Brandon, you're truly remarkable," Anabel remarked sincerely. Capturing a legendary Pokémon was certainly praiseworthy, especially considering how much time and effort Brandon had invested.

"But I've heard that the 'Legendary Giants' aren't just Regirock, Registeel, and Regice. I wonder if you're aware of that?" Dylan pondered for a moment before smiling at Brandon.

"Oh? Are you referring to Regigigas, Dylan?" Brandon thought for a moment, recalling the legendary Regigigas, which was said to have created the three titans. If there were other 'giants,' it must have been Regigigas.

"No, not Regigigas," Dylan shook his head. Regigigas didn't count as one of the 'Legendary Giants.'

"Then there are other giants?" Brandon was stunned for a moment, then suddenly became excited.

"Yes, I've taken an interest in the legends from various regions, so I know a little about them," Dylan replied humbly.

"According to an ancient text I once read, the 'Legendary Giants' are also known as 'Eternal Pokémon.' This term refers to Regirock, Regice, and Registeel collectively, but in the distant Galar region, there are two more giants!" Dylan smiled as he spoke.

Brandon stared intently at Dylan, eager to hear more. He had spent so much time searching for the 'giants' because of his love for the Legendary Giants.

"Regieleki and Regidrago are the names of these two giants. They were created by Regigigas but were sealed away by the ancient people of Galar, so their existence is not widely known," Dylan explained with a smile.

"Regieleki and Regidrago…" Brandon and the others, including Anabel and Carsey, were mulling over these unfamiliar names.

"Dylan, what type are these giants?" Brandon was clearly excited, deeply intrigued by the mention of these new giants.

"The Legendary Giants were crafted by Regigigas from crystallized rock, ice, magma, electricity, and dragon energy," Dylan smiled as he answered, though he still didn't quite understand why the Steel-type Registeel represented magma.

It was just as baffling as why Regieleki and Regidrago, despite their immensely powerful abilities, had a creator like Regigigas, which was hampered by its Slow Start ability.

But these things weren't Dylan's main concern.

"So they're Electric-type and Dragon-type?" Anabel asked curiously. Since they were made from electricity and dragon energy, it seemed clear they'd be Electric-type and Dragon-type, respectively.

"Dylan, do you know where they're sealed?" Brandon's blood was boiling with excitement. He had been wondering what to do after finding Regice—should he then search for Regigigas?

But now, he had a new target. He wanted to find Regieleki and Regidrago.

As for Galar being too far away? That was a laughable concern—love for these Pokémon could not be limited by distance!

"Well," Dylan hesitated for a moment.

"Dylan, rest assured, even if I find where Regieleki and Regidrago are sealed, I won't act impulsively. I believe you're the better candidate to capture them," Brandon assured him, understanding that his earlier question had been somewhat rude.

Legendary Pokémon were rare and valuable, but Brandon had no selfish desires for them. He was willing to risk his life for Pokémon.

Dylan, of course, trusted Brandon. Though he might appear stern and difficult to approach, Brandon was actually passionate, caring for his juniors, and deeply in love with Pokémon—a fantastic senior to look up to.

"It's not that—I just don't know their exact sealing location. But they're most likely sealed in the Crown Tundra of Galar," Dylan speculated. While he knew their location from the games, reality could differ, so who knew if anything had changed?

"If you want to search for them, you could try the area around the Split Plains in the Crown Tundra," Dylan suggested.

"Great! Once I find Regice, I'll head to Galar!" Brandon agreed enthusiastically, filled with determination.

"Dylan, when I find where they're sealed, I'll contact you so you can come capture them," Brandon promised, eager to witness the appearance of these two new giants.

"Thank you very much," Dylan replied warmly, expressing his gratitude. This had been his goal all along.

Regidrago and Regieleki were much stronger than the three original titans, and Dylan was genuinely interested in them.

"No need to thank me. This is your information, after all. It's the best outcome," Brandon smiled even more, his tone much softer now.

He had no doubt about Dylan's abilities, and if Dylan could capture Regieleki and Regidrago, perhaps he'd become the Champion of Kanto someday!

After chatting for a while longer, Dylan, Lillie, and Ilene finally bid farewell and left.

"Kanto is going to produce an extraordinary talent," Anabel remarked as she watched them leave.

"That's a good thing," Brandon shook his head.

"It just means it'll be tough for other trainers of his generation," he added with a hint of pity for those who would have to compete with Dylan.

Brandon didn't mind, though. His time had passed, but…

"Carsey, next time you arrange a battle for me, please make sure you know the challenger's strength," Brandon said sternly.

"If you send me another trainer like him, don't bother contacting me again!"

Brandon's tone was stiff. It was undeniable that he was indeed optimistic about Dylan, but today's battle...

How should one put it? Brandon admired his own cleverness. If he kept fighting, he feared he might genuinely suffer a cerebral hemorrhage.

The battle had been too overwhelming. He had never experienced such a suffocating match before, as if a stifling weight pressed on his chest, leaving him breathless.

"Alright, alright,"

Carsey wiped the cold sweat from his forehead with a handkerchief.

...

In the blink of an eye, another week had passed.

In the battle simulation world, Dylan had already reached the Aether Foundation storyline, where Lusamine, using the power of Nebby, had entered the Ultra Space along with Guzma.

Due to the forced energy release, Nebby evolved from Cosmog into Cosmoem.

At the Moone Altar, it was a deep and quiet night.

"Mother..."

Lillie, now with her hair tied into a high ponytail and her bag slung over her shoulder, carried a composed yet melancholic demeanor.

Lusamine's rejection had dealt her a huge blow, but...

Lillie turned her head and saw Dylan waving at her from another platform. Remembering how much he had helped her along the way, Lillie made up her mind.

She walked to her designated platform, opened her bag, revealing the evolved Cosmoem inside.

Lillie placed Cosmoem on the ground and took out the Sun Flute to play it.

On the opposite platform, Dylan also brought out the Moone Flute and began to play.

As the gentle evening breeze blew, the enchanting sounds of both flutes intertwined, creating a serene and beautiful melody.

In front of the altar, the massive pillar began to move, unleashing a brilliant surge of energy that shot down, directly hitting Cosmoem.

Blinding light erupted, accompanied by a violent gust of wind.

Dylan stood behind Lillie, looking up at the high platform. As the light faded, a pair of bat-like wings, shaped like a crescent moon, unfolded.

With a bat-like appearance, its body was dark purple, its wings adorned with golden moon crescents. Its head was small, with a deep blue section displaying ever-changing star constellations.

It was none other than Lunala, the 'Legendary Pokémon of the Cosmos.'

Lunala let out a raspy cry, flying a lap around the air before gracefully landing in front of Lillie.

"This scene…"

Watching Lillie and Lunala in such a heartwarming and harmonious atmosphere, Dylan couldn't help but feel a sense of déjà vu.

At that moment, a pale white Ultra Wormhole opened, and two figures fell out.

One of them was Lusamine.

"Mother!" Lillie cried out in alarm, rushing toward Lusamine.

However, Lusamine seemed severely injured. When she saw Lillie, she struggled to lift her hand and gently caressed her daughter's face.

"Lillie, run... that thing... is a monster..." Lusamine's voice was weak.

Dylan glanced at Guzma, who lay unconscious not far from Lusamine. The leader of Team Skull had passed out the moment he hit the ground.

Screech!

A piercing sound like claws scraping glass echoed as a giant black claw stretched out from the still-open Ultra Wormhole, gripping the edge.

Lillie gasped.

"Necrozma~!"

With a menacing growl, a massive black Pokémon emerged from the Ultra Wormhole, letting out a roaring cry to the sky.

Its aura radiated a tangible malevolence, and the pressure was overwhelming.

Its entire body appeared to be made of black crystals, with long, slender arms ending in three claws. Its head was large, with a glowing central section of colored matter.

Dylan's eyes lit up instantly—this was Necrozma!

"That's Necrozma. When it awakens, it's extremely violent and destroys everything around it in an instant."

Lusamine squeezed Lillie's hand. After uttering those words, she fell unconscious.

Lillie pressed her lips together, then resolutely stood up, staring at Necrozma in the sky. Lunala appeared behind her.

Dylan, standing behind her, yawned out of boredom. Although it was quite interesting, this cutscene was starting to feel too long.

Necrozma fixated on Lunala, its aura growing stronger.

"Nebby!"

Lillie's expression was resolute—this time, she would not be afraid!

Sensing Lillie's determination, Lunala flapped its wings and shot toward Necrozma in the sky.

For the glory of the moon god!!!

Then…

Necrozma pressed its massive claw onto Lunala's head, pinning it to the ground. Its body swiftly disassembled into black crystals and forcefully merged with Lunala. After a flash of light...

Necrozma's Dawn Wings form emerged!!

A terrifying and oppressive presence filled the air, and with Nebby now absorbed, Lillie stared at the transformed Necrozma in terror, her face pale as she stepped back in fear.

Despair was spreading.

But...

Dylan patted Lillie on the shoulder. Seeing the young face so similar to the real Lillie's, yet more innocent, he gave her a reassuring smile.

Lillie pursed her lips tightly.

Dylan raised his Pokéball, confidently pointing it at the airborne Necrozma in its Dawn Wings form.

Finally, it was time for him to shine!
