CHAPTER 20: SAMSON OAK

"So a pokemon school huh."

Alec was in his room on his bed thinking about his conversation with Professor Aurea just now.

From what he knew of animation, the pokemon school was one of the main places in the series, because of Ash and his gang, so Alec found it quite interesting to know who would be in the pokemon school in this weather.

Also, Alec didn't know what Professor Aurea had told Professor Oak's cousin, Samson Oak, to make him so interested in him that he asked him to attend the pokemon school for a while.

"Not to brag, but top pokemon researchers aside, my knowledge of pokemon is pretty high."

This left her somewhat perplexed about Professor Aurea's intentions, but she didn't come to any particular conclusion.

"Maybe he didn't want me to get lost exploring alone again, so he found a good excuse not to be distracted, after all, I'm only 6 years old."

Alec was still a few months away from his 7th birthday, but his appearance made him look about 10 years old, so technically, people who saw him should consider him an adult by league law.

So, Alec decided not to think about this anymore and went to sleep, although he had rested early, not all his tiredness disappeared, and to add to that all the mess he cleaned up later, Alec fell asleep as soon as he touched the bed.

The next morning, he was awakened by the rotomdex's alarm, whereupon he began his usual routine of washing up and preparing breakfast for himself and the professor.

But to Alec's surprise, the professor was already awake and having a leisurely breakfast in the living room.

The professor seeing the surprise on Alec's face, she smiled to herself as she indicated that she could sit down and eat.

It was then that she realized that what she had left for breakfast was a fairly popular carbonated berry drink along with some sandwiches obviously bought the day before and only reheated.

Alec was about to reproach her for this until he saw the smug smile on Professor Aurea's face, so, with a sigh, he decided not to say anything to her and eat breakfast quietly.

Seeing that Alec didn't seem to say anything to her, the smirk on the professor's face was even bigger, as if telling Alec: "See, I can fend for myself too, your help isn't necessary."

With this peculiar atmosphere, they both finished breakfast, and it was the moment when Professor Aurea decided to say:

"If you're ready, we'd better head to the pokemon school now, after all, we shouldn't let Professor Samson wait."

Hearing this, Alec nodded and went to his room to find his black backpack and place the dragon egg in it, as for the vulpix egg, from what he knew from the images that the ninetales transmitted to him, it had just given birth, so it would take a while for it to still open.

It was at this moment that Alec realized something, and it was that his pokemon would only be in the future when they were born, currently, the only one he had accompanying him was the Rotom in the Rotomdex, and he couldn't fight.

"What an awkward situation I find myself in."

Due to the demand he had on the pokemon he wanted to train, it was much easier for Alec to hatch a pokemon and increase its potential from that stage, and then when it was born to train it in one direction, but this made Alec not have a pokemon that protect him while traveling currently.

"Maybe I should call the farm and ask them to send me the little mareep, lazy as he is, he sure likes the weather here Alola."

When this thought popped into his mind, he couldn't get it out anymore, so he decided that he would stop by Alola's only pokemon center and make a call to the farm.

Imagining the little mareep next to him, Alec's mood improved, so, with a big smile, he left with Professor Aurea and the rotomdex towards the pokemon school.

The pokemon school was not far from Hau'oli city, which was the city where all the scientists from the delegations of the different regions stayed.

So, after a half hour of walking, obviously making one or another stop, they arrived at the pokemon school, a school that looked a lot like the one in the games, with a fairly modern look.

Inside it, there were children of different ages, some playing with small pokemon like bonsly or happiny, while other older ones were in charge of watching them.

They didn't seem interested in him or the professor when they saw them, they just greeted them before continuing with what they were doing.

In this way, both Professor Aurea and Alec, after some questions to the students, found their way to the principal's office and knocked on the door.

Soon, a rather grave voice came out of the room, saying:

"You can come in."

Thus, as soon as Alec entered, the spitting image of Professor Oak appeared before him, with the difference that his skin tone was darker.

Wearing a blue Hawaiian shirt and gray shorts, a man in his 40s got up from his seat and warmly approached with a smile.

"Professor Juniper, it's good to see you again, oh, and you must be Alec, right? Professor Juniper has told me a lot about you."

Greeting Professor Aurea warmly, Professor Samson Oak turned his gaze towards Alec before giving him a friendly greeting.

At this, Alec nodded and bowed in greeting to the professor, who despite not being as renowned as his cousin, Professor Oak, was still an outstanding researcher, and was also studying regional variations of the pokemon, I had even moved to study these pokemon better, this alone was already worthy of respect.

"Nice to meet you Professor Samson, I have read a lot about your research on how the environment influences pokemon, and I must say that I find them very interesting."

Hearing this, Professor Samson nodded and unconsciously began to ask Alec a few casual questions, to which he answered leisurely and even added his own ideas in the process.

This made Professor Samson quite surprised, but as a cunning old fox, he didn't show it on his face, nodding at Alec as if acknowledging his ideas and chatting casually.

Professor Aurea on the other hand, had a proud smile on her face, after all, though Alec might not be aware of it, she still noticed the twinkle in Professor Samson's eyes that occasionally appeared.

So after what seemed like casual chat, Professor Samson sighed in acknowledgment of Alec.

"Professor Juniper really was quite reserved in praising you, not only does your knowledge of pokemon leave many of the people I know behind, but you also respect them and treat them as partners, I'm sure my cousin would be quite happy to chat with you."

Hearing this, a tinge of embarrassment appeared on Alec's face, who just scratched his head helplessly saying:

"You praise me professor, besides, it is thanks to Professor Juniper's trust and support that I have been able to get here."

Hearing this, Professor Samson's smile deepened, on the other hand, Professor Aurea refrained from running to hug Alec, her words really moved her.

So, after a slight silence, Professor Samson gave Alec a meaningful look before saying:

"As you may know Alec, due to the conference organized by Professor Kukui, the various researchers including me will be somewhat busy during these days, and it was at that moment that I heard Professor Juniper mention her brilliant apprentice, so it occurred to me an idea."

When Alec heard this far, a foreboding rose through his heart, before he turned his gaze to Professor Aurea, who God only knew when he bought a bottle of berry juice and ignored Alec as he calmly drank the drink.

On the other hand, Professor Samson seemed not to notice this as he continued his conversation:

"Thus, I decided to call you to serve as a teacher at the school with the permission of Professor Juniper, and after talking with you today, it seems that I made the right decision."

Hearing this far, a wry smile appeared on Alec's face, who could only thank Professor Kukui for not mentioning in the lecture that he was the co-creator of the rotomdex, otherwise, wouldn't he further excite the old man in front of him? to the?

So, knowing that he had been sold by the teacher and that he really didn't have a good reason to refuse, Alec was about to agree when a thought came to his mind.

"Wait, schools don't have field trips? Maybe I can take advantage of this and see more wild places in Alola..."

Thinking this far, a mischievous smile appeared on Alec's face.
