CHAPTER 12: ALOLA

"What a surprise it took me just a few hours to travel to Alola."

Until here, Alec had already read about the data and results of the research on the potential of the pokemon, but he still had a couple of pages left in the reports to read.

But contrary to what Alec expected, what remained of the report were some strange discoveries in the genetics of some pokemon.

Alec almost didn't finish reading this when he almost fell off the chair he was in, he almost wanted to shout nonsense at the top of his lungs, who was Professor Nirio Altyles? The son of heaven in the field of pokemon research? give it some more time and it might discover the mega evolution.

"Now I don't know how to feel about it, but maybe I should speed up my plans about mega stones, this world so far is quite similar to games and animation, but this professor never existed, and yet his discoveries can open up new fields research, I guess after my trip to Alola I should convince Aurea neesan to visit Kalos."

This is why Alec really wanted to visit Kalos, also, he wanted to check if the location of some mega stones hadn't changed yet.

"Although of course, I'm sure the Kalos League and their scientists must have already noticed some peculiarity about the mega stones and activator stones, although they don't know their function yet."

Just as Alec came to this conclusion, another thought crossed his mind, and that was the strange thing about the starters the Unova league handed out.

"Now that I get into it, it's pretty weird that most starters are rated green or yellow with the occasional blue..."

This led Alec to realize something, and that was that maybe the leaders of the different leagues already knew about pokemon and their different ranks, and that they were looking for a way to breed pokemon with only green ranks onwards.

"If what I imagine is true, then it's a good move by the league, only those who join will be able to get higher ranked pokemon, while those who don't have to rely on their luck to get a pokemon with good potential in nature."

This made Alec sigh, but he soon shook his head as he got his mood back.

"Forget it, it's none of my business what they're doing, but it's not all bad for me, as there will be a group of people researching how to improve the rating of specific pokemon, which will benefit me indirectly."

And even if this was all just Alec's rambling thoughts, it didn't matter, in Professor Nirio's research that he just found, there was a long list of ingredients and ways to improve the rating of some pokemon, and from there Alec could extrapolate data until you get what you want.

"Well, enough surprises for today, I'll leave this where I found it and go to sleep."

So, Alec took some photos of the experimental data in the envelope before putting it away in the same place he found it, for now, he decided to hide it again instead of destroying it.

The next morning, Alec was wearing a set of new clothes, with gray pants, a short-sleeved white polo shirt and a black cap on his head, on his back he had his usual black backpack, in which he decided to carry the dragon egg. to his trip to Alola, while carrying a travel bag in his right hand from him.

This is because, although there were several people who could raise it as soon as it was born, Alec always thought that the first impression of a pokemon was very special, and more so if it was a newborn, so if the baby dragon was born while he was away, it would be a great regret for him.

So, Alec left his room, before changing, he had already prepared breakfast, and Professor Aurea was already in the living room having breakfast.

Seeing this, Alec sat down on the couch across from her, leaving her luggage on the floor and his black backpack on her legs.

"Aurea neesan, will we travel by ship or plane to Alola?"

Hearing this, Professor Aurea finished eating her sandwich before answering Alec.

"Obviously we will travel by plane, if we go by ship, it would take more than 1 month to arrive."

Hearing this, Alec nodded before noticing that the professor seemed to have no luggage in sight, so he decided to ask:

"Aurea neesan is not carrying luggage?"

Hearing Alec's question, the professor just smiled before answering:

"Of course I bring it, it's just that I left it at the entrance to make it easier for the taxi that will take us to the airport to move it."

At this, Alec nodded understandingly, so it wasn't long before the taxi showed up and took them to the airport.

A small episode of this was the amount of suitcases that Professor Aurea decided to take, which made the poor taxi driver smile stiffly, which Alec did not mock at any time, he knew that he would go through the same thing once he arrived at the airport.

Thus, at 10 in the morning, Alec together with a group of 5 people traveled on a private plane to Alola, precisely to Melemele Island.

After 6 hours of flight, they finally arrived at Melemele Island, when going down, the first thing Alec noticed was the warm climate of the place, in addition to the more natural atmosphere that there was, he could even see many more flying pokemon than in Nuvema town.

"Worthy of a Hawaii-like region from my previous world."

Alec already knew that it was a fairly warm region, so he came prepared in fairly light and less dark clothing.

Not long after, they arrived at the airport lounge, where a group of people came out to greet them, led by a rather peculiarly dressed man, who made his way towards Alec's duo.

"Alola, welcome to Melemele Island, you must be Professor Juniper, right? I've heard a lot about you, it's nice to meet you in person."

The man in front of them was quite young, wearing gray shorts and no polo shirt on his upper body, which was covered by a white coat characteristic of pokemon researchers.

Alec had already recognized the person in front of him as the pokemon professor of this region, Professor Kukui.

At Professor Kukui's greeting, Professor Aurea smiled gently before replying:

"The pleasure is mine, Professor Kukui, I have also heard a lot about you, and I think the exchange of ideas proposed by you is a great idea."

Hearing this, Professor Kukui nodded towards the professor before saying:

"It is a great honor for me to be able to bring together a group of researchers from different regions this time in Alola, but for now, let me show you the place where you will be staying during your stay in Alola."

At this, Professor Aurea nodded before turning to Alec and indicating that he follow them, while the other companions of the professor helped to load the luggage.

Seeing the attention Professor Aurea gave Alec, Professor Kukui was surprised, before asking warmly:

"Is this little one a relative of yours?"

Hearing this, Professor Aurea smiled at Alec as she placed her hand on Alec's head.

"You could look at it that way, but actually, this little guy is my helper and apprentice, don't underestimate him because of his age, he is quite insightful and he has helped me a lot."

Hearing this, Professor Kukui was surprised, then smiled at Alec and said:

"So you're Alec, don't hesitate to ask me about any inconvenience or doubt you have."

At this, Alec bowed in greeting and thanked the professor for his kindness.

Thus, the group left the airport with Professor Kukui at the head.

It should be noted that, on this trip, Professor Aurea came as her representative from the Unova region, the other people who came with her were trainers who acted as bodyguards to guarantee her safety.

Thus, Alec followed at a distance the two professors who were chatting quietly, feeling a slight discomfort.

"I look like a third wheel, right?"

Thus, carrying his black backpack on his back, Alec endured the entire journey until they reached a fairly new apartment, where he told them which floor they would stay on.

"Well, you guys will be staying in the apartment located on the 3rd floor, the conference will be in 2 days, so you can go explore the island in the meantime."

After saying this, the professor said goodbye to both of them.

Both Alec and the professor decided to rest today and go for a walk tomorrow, so Alec chose a room and arranged his things.

"Well then, I'd better get some rest early, I have a day of exploration ahead of me tomorrow."
