CHAPTER 11: CONSIDERATIONS AND A LETTER

Compared to a year, 1 week was a blink of an eye for Alec, so he had tried to learn as much as possible about the current situation in Alola.

"According to what Aurea neesan told me, we will be in Alola for 1 month, although this could vary, whether we stay longer or return earlier."

This was the case for most if not all of the elite 4, but some did not do this because they wanted to have more strong pokemon, but because they enjoyed training pokemon.

From his previous world, he knew that Lance ended up becoming the champion of Johto and not Kanto because of Lorelei and her ice-type pokemon.

Thus, to avoid inconvenience, he decided that he would not train another dragon pokemon, or at least it would not be his priority.

"That leaves us with the three starters of alola, toxapex, alola vulpix, lycanrock, salazzle, mimikyu…"

Although the list could go on, there was one pokemon in particular that he wanted to have.

"I really hope to find an alola vulpix, it would be perfect if it was still a pokemon egg so I can improve its potential, but well, any of the others would be useful too."

Although Alec knew that things didn't always go as expected, there was nothing wrong with dreaming a little, and who knows, maybe he could be in for a surprise on this trip to Alola.

"I should at least prioritize getting the pokemon egg of the pokemon I want, so I could use an incubation liquid, otherwise I'll focus on looking for green rated pokemon from now on."

Unlike hatching liquid for a dragon pokemon, which demanded scarcer and rarer resources, hatching liquid for other species would be considered cheap next to it.

As for his decision of the green rating onwards, it was because when the pokemon evolved, he could create a special medicine like the incubation liquid to improve his rating, like this, a green rating could reach the blue rating, and even if he had the lucky to find a blue, upgrade it to inigo.

It should be noted that this comfort could only be afforded to Alec, who, being Alder's adopted son and Professor Aurea's apprentice, had certain facilities, although still expensive, at least he had the channels to obtain the resources.

Thus, the night before the trip, Alec was looking for one or another book in the library when he took one quite old and worn, of which, to his surprise, under it was an open envelope which contained many reports and a letter.

At first, Alec was about to put it aside and continue searching, after all, it wasn't enough to be a genius to know that it should be something personal from Professor Juniper that snuck in with the other books and reports that Professor Aurea took, but signing the letter is what made Alec stop.

"Your old friend, Nirio Artyles."

Seeing Professor Nirio's name, Alec could no longer contain his curiosity, so he took the entire envelope with the reports and the letter and sat in a corner of the room.

"Old friend, after much hesitation, I have decided to go on a journey on my own, after seeing the results of my research on the latent potential of pokemon more and more doubts come to me, I even recently started to venture into the field of genetics, but my doubts and questions only increase instead of decreasing, how far can the potential of pokemon go, do legendary pokemon have their strength because they reached their peak in terms of genetics and potential?"

"Although these thoughts have been going through my head, lately, an even crazier thought that I really couldn't tell you about through this letter came to me, and it was because of this that I left my hesitation and decided to embark on the journey to understand more about this world and its pokemon."

After reading the letter, a sigh escaped from Alec, he knew that Professor Nirio died in an accident, so he could not meet with Professor Juniper again.

It was not without reason, Professor Nirio had discovered something that Alec had only managed to learn due to his strange power, and it is none other than the color classification that Alec created.

Although Professor Nirio obviously did not use colors, he described it more as a genetic barrier, in it the data he collected from countless pokemon appeared to create the classification of 7 levels corresponding to the 7 colors that Alec had theorized existed.

"Likewise, the so-called elite level 4 is because only pokemon with 4th order genes and some 3rd order ones can only reach that level of strength, due to their genetic insufficiency."

"As for the gym leader level pokemon, they are pokemon with 4th and 5th order genes, this is because their genes are more dispersed, causing their low level of strength."

"And for the other more abundant Pokemon, they are the result of their species attempting to establish an ecological niche in an area."

It was late at night that Alec left the documents on the table and sat quietly meditating, finally understanding why Professor Juniper never shared this with anyone, and hid it among piles of old books and ancient documents.

This is not a joke, think about it for a moment, if a trainer was told that their pokemon is the most common red rating and will never be able to defeat a gym leader, would they still want to train it?, also knowing that the blue rating and inigo are the pokemon that can reach championship power, would you still want to train pokemon with low ratings?

Alec knew he wasn't a saint, which is why ever since he discovered this, he knew he would be more biased about one pokemon with better potential than another, but he had firmly made a vow that this would be done on the basis that the pokemon was willing to follow him and fight by his side.
