POV: Ren
This is such a screwed up world to be honest. I was born on such an era where I will have to fight for my own freedom. Isn't that too much. I was also an orphan. They said my parents died when they were fighting a mere Septile. I don't actually feel anything though. I don't even remember their faces.
That's what I used to think. I couldn't possibly live a normal and happy life in this world, but neither could I live by fighting against Pokemons. We would all be wiped out. That's basically the truth.
But I was still there standing infront of a military officer in my military dress being all nervous like it's a school or something. Why did I even join here. Well I guess I don't have a reason to not join as well.
"My name is Ren! I'm here to join the Pokemon hunters association." I introduced myself in that huge group of people.
"Why do you want to hunt Pokemons!" The soldier asked me.
"To regain my and the rest of humanity's freedom, sir." I said to him but of course they were just bunch of lies.
I never cared about anyone in my life. Why would I save humanity. All I need is my freedom. But I couldn't answer myself why I needed my freedom. What would I even do after I regain my freedom anyway? I didn't know anything about that but all I knew was that I hated being looked down upon, being ruled by someone. I hated losing my freedom for no real reason.
I came in here to answer myself to be honest. What I want to do and how I want to live? That's what I needed to know first. That's what my initial freedom is, conquering yourself and your own heart. I don't know much about the world so this was the only place to come to.
"Hey kid, pay attention to the classes." Someone yelled at me. It was the teacher who was teaching us about the basics of being a Pokemon hunter. Of course I wasn't listening to him. I feel like I should be listening to him but I was lost in my own world.
And just like that a day passed and I couldn't even get to know anyone. Some started to make friends whereas some were just like me, all alone. I kind of feel glad I wasn't the only one left out.
I was not a sociable kid. I only interacted with few people in my orphanage and that was all. I couldn't understand the basics of socialization. Heck I didn't even know how to respond to a "hello".
And again just like that the night passed. We were living in a dorm for military soldiers specially for recruits like us. No one was making much noise since it was their first day as well but there were some clowns maybe plotting some prank.
"Ok, so today we are going to start training." The teacher told us. But wasn't that a little too sudden. The class was also in an uproar. People barely knew each other and people like me didn't even know a single soul. And now we are just starting training all alone. Isn't teamwork necessary here?
We were taken to a training area with the teacher.
"This is the captain of the third squad." That teacher introduced us to a captain of some squad.
So from what I knew, this was a military camp number 3 and soldiers were divided into different squads to carry out different missions. There were 20 military camps scattered and each with many squads. So he is a captain of one of those squads, huh?
He was with a team as well. They handed us each with a gun and a sword. There was a place to hang swords in our military costumes as well. A gun! What the hell?
"How can a gun pierce through those hard scales of some Pokemons. Guns can't even kill a human unless the bullet hits a vital spot. And what's with the swords? Are we suppose to fight a flying Pokemon with a katana?" I thought I was just thinking but I let my mouth slip. My thoughts were just converted into language unknowingly. Everyone was looking at me now.
The captain was also looking at me. Come to think of it, he didn't even give us his name.
" Well you are right. Normal guns can't kill a Pokemon with hard scales but these guns have special bullets. It's specially made for Pokemons like that. And the bullet also has poison inside it. Whenever it pierces it's target the poison is released, killing the target instantly on the spot." The captain explains the details about the guns. He never told us about the swords though.
POV: NARRATOR
Right on top of the military base, a vortex was being made. The sky was just glowing from all the lightning. It was a sudden weather change. Something was floating around the vortex or it was maybe making the vortex. The sound of the thunder was as loud as never. Everyone on the camp could feel the danger surrounding them. But what was that? A Pokemon?
Well upon closer inspection, it does seemed like a Pokemon .... a RAYQUAZA!!
