Chapter 25: Stalking Ninja

With all his preparations complete, Julian mounted his trusty bike and embarked on the journey to Fuchsia City. The wind rushed past him as he pedaled onward, determined to reach his destination. Six hours of relentless riding brought him to the bustling city's outskirts, marking the beginning of a new chapter in his adventure.

Julian reflected, "I'm glad I set out early this morning. Arriving at this hour was a smart move; otherwise, I'd have reached here by evening. First things first, I should head to the Pokémon Center for a check-up and then restock my supplies."

Julian rode his bike towards the Pokémon Center and arrived to find it bustling with trainers and their Pokémon.

Julian thought to himself, Today seems to be a busy day at the center. It looks like I might not have the opportunity for my gym battle today. No worries, though. I remember the gym is located in the nearby forest, and I've heard about the traps along the way.

Approaching Nurse Joy, Julian requested, "Nurse Joy, I'd like you to conduct a health check on my Pokémon."

Nurse Joy nodded and turned to her Chansey. "Of course, Julian. Chansey, please take these Poké Balls inside, and I'll come to check on them later."

Chansey obediently collected the Poké Balls and headed inside the Pokémon Center.

Nurse Joy replied, "I'd appreciate it if you could return a bit later. We're currently swamped with patients."

Understanding the situation, Julian nodded and exited the Pokémon Center.

Julian thought to himself, I'll visit the market to restock my supplies. With my Pokémon eating more these days, it's essential to have enough food on hand.

As he strolled through the market, a peculiar sight caught his attention. A girl dressed in a ninja outfit, carrying a bag, effortlessly leaped from one building to another, vanishing into the nearby forest.

Julian mused, Wait a minute, I recognize her. She's Aya, Gym Leader Koga's sister. What a pleasant surprise to encounter her before even entering the forest.

With the intention of a brief rest, Julian returned to the Pokémon Center and rented a room. After a period of meditation to clear his mind, he made his way to Nurse Joy to retrieve his Pokémon. Walking out to the Pokémon Center's backyard, he called upon Ivysaur and Heatran.

Julian "So tomorrow, both of you will be battling. Ivysaur, you'll go first, followed by Heatran. You don't have to worry about your opponents; they're Poison-types and won't pose a threat to you."

Both Ivysaur and Heatran nodded in understanding. They immediately got to work, focusing on refining their defenses and speed, fully aware that their formidable attacks would easily handle the Poison-type adversaries.

As they trained diligently, Julian couldn't help but feel a surge of pride for his Pokémon. They had come a long way since he first embarked on his journey, and their growth and unwavering determination were a testament to their strong bond.

Julian "You're both doing great. Let's ensure we're fully prepared for those battles tomorrow."

With that, they continued their training, determined to be in peak condition for the challenges that lay ahead.

Julian had made his way to the forest early in the morning, determined to locate the hidden gym of Fuchsia City. The forest was shrouded in shadows, with the sounds of rustling leaves and the calls of wild Pokémon filling the air.

Julian thought to himself, "Ash may have a knack for stumbling upon things, but I prefer a more methodical approach."

He carefully examined the forest floor, searching for any signs of footprints or disturbances in the underbrush. Occasionally, he would spot a broken branch or a faint trail of crushed leaves, offering hints that he was on the right path.

Julian continued to follow these subtle clues, his determination growing with each step.

Julian thought, "I'm getting closer. Koga's gym can't be too far now."

Julian, determined and vigilant, pressed on through the forest towards the gym. Along the way, he encountered various traps and obstacles that were clearly designed to deter intruders. He expertly evaded pitfalls, narrowly dodged flying shurikens, and sidestepped Voltorb traps, each time demonstrating his exceptional reflexes and agility.

Aya, the gym leader's sister, followed Julian with her Venonat, closely observing his progress. She was intrigued by his skills and ability to navigate the treacherous path to the gym. She knew that if Julian could reach the gym, he would be a worthy challenger for her brother, Koga, the Poison-type Pokémon master.

As Julian continued to advance, he could feel that he was drawing closer to his destination. The clues and tracks he had followed had led him through this intricate maze of traps, and he was now on the brink of reaching Fuchsia City's hidden gym.

Aya trailed behind Julian, her astonishment growing as he deftly navigated a gauntlet of traps that seemed impossibly intricate. She couldn't help but marvel at his skill; even she would struggle without knowing the precise coordinates of each hidden hazard.

Julian's thoughts raced as he continued to evade the traps. 'These snares, though ominous in appearance, are carefully designed not to inflict serious harm,' he mused. 'But why scatter them so liberally? Do they assume every challenger is a ninja? And what's with her? Always lurking behind me like a relentless stalker.'

After successfully escaping numerous traps, Julian finally arrived at the gym. Its architecture resembled a traditional martial arts school, constructed entirely from wood. Upon entering, he found himself in a serene courtyard featuring a tranquil pond and shaded by tall trees. There was an eerie silence, and it was clear that the gym leader had no intention of revealing themselves.

As Julian approached the gate, his path was suddenly obstructed by Aya. Her dark green hair and purple ninja-style dress, adorned with a net-like structure over her arms, made her an enigmatic presence against the rustic backdrop.

Julian smirked. "Looks like the stalker who was following me the whole time finally decided to show up."

Aya, taken aback, stammered, "Are you talking about me?"

Julian raised an eyebrow. "Who else? Weren't you the one leaping silently from tree to tree, tailing me through the entire forest?"

Aya's shock was evident. "How did you find out?"

Julian chuckled. "Well, even if you didn't make a sound, I could still see your shadow, sometimes cast on the ground. Anyone would've noticed you, unless they were a fool."

Aya protested, "I wasn't stalking you. I was... spying on you."

Julian leaned in with a sly grin. "Spying is usually done when someone asks you to spy on someone. Were you asked by someone to keep an eye on me?"

Aya hesitated, unable to find a suitable answer. Her motives were more complex than a simple request, and Julian's playful teasing wasn't making it any easier for her to explain.

Julian smirked. "I take that as a no from your silence, which means you were stalking me from the moment I entered the forest."

Aya, her embarrassment evident, simply tossed the topic aside.

Aya countered, "I don't care what you think, but if you're here to challenge the gym, you have to defeat me first. Go, Venonat!"

Julian responded, "Okay, then. I don't have time to waste. Go, Pidgeotto!"

Aya declared confidently, "Using your Pidgeotto won't help you win this battle. Venonat, use Stun Spore!"

Julian's quick thinking came into play as he commanded, "Pidgeotto, take to the skies and use Air Cutter!"

Pidgeotto soared high above, well out of reach of the Stun Spore attack. From its lofty vantage point, Pidgeotto launched a barrage of sharp-edged Air Cutters that sliced through the air with precision. Venonat, bombarded by the onslaught, faltered and fainted on the spot.

Julian declared confidently, "See, now that you're defeated, I'll be challenging the gym leader."

He walked past Aya, who was still in a trance after her quick defeat. Julian reached the imposing gym door, slid it open, and entered a unique battlefield. The gym was reminiscent of a traditional martial arts school, constructed entirely from aged wood. The atmosphere was thick with the scent of ancient knowledge and determination.

Waiting on the battlefield was a middle-aged man with spiky black hair and an aura of seriousness. He introduced himself as Koga, the Gym Leader of the Fuchsia Gym.

Koga regarded Julian with a serious expression. "Looks like you've defeated my sister quite easily. It's been a long time since I've faced a strong opponent."

Julian squared his shoulders and introduced himself, "I am Julian, and I'm here to challenge you to a gym battle."
