Du Jingnan carried Qiao Chen to the bed and laid him down. He started helping Qiao Chen dress. Then he was prepared to call in a private doctor to let them know they were going to go into the clinic immediately, but Qiao Chen grabbed Du Jingnan's hand as he reached for the phone and said, "You don't have to call. I'm fine. "

"I want you to get checked out- just to make sure that everything is okay. I'll calm down after we do that." Du Jingnan tucked Qiao Chen's hand back under the blanket. Then he grabbed the phone and began dialing.

"You really don't have to call. I already know what's wrong with me." Qiao Chen said.

"You already know?" Du jingnan looked at Qiao Chen with doubts.

Qiao Chen looked at Du Jingnan with some guilt. He said, "I used to do stand in work before. There was a malfunction that caused me to drop from high up. I landed on my head. When I went to the doctor, they said that I formed a blood clot in my brain, and it's putting a lot of pressure in my head. I can go blind if it's left unchecked. It's also a difficult surgery because the clot is in my brain. They said there was a lot of risk because the brain is such a delicate organ. They recommended I find an experienced surgeon abroad to perform the operation with the best treatment they could manage, because the ones here weren't as good. However, that was very expensive, and I didn't have any money at the time. As a result, I haven't done the surgery."

"Why are you only telling me now?" Du Jingnan asked with a frown.

"Probably because I was so busy with the movie? I forgot about it." Qiao Chen said. He felt even more guilt. He was very focused on getting revenge on Xu Jieming and Liu Yi, so he had completely forgotten that he had a brain clot.

"Forgot? You really…" Du Jingnan said with exasperated anger. He was so upset that Shu Qichen had actually forgotten that he had such a dangerous health condition. He was speechless. Was there anyone who could even forget a health condition that could kill them? Du Jingnan became even more upset and didn't want to talk to Qiao Chen anymore. He turned his attention to his phone and quickly contacted the best brain surgeons in the world. Du Jingnan was prepared to fly Qiao Chen out of the country immediately to undergo the necessary surgery.

Qiao Chen sat on the bed and watched as Du Jingnan made phone call after phone call. Du Jingnan hadn't sat down once. He paced back and forth throughout the room while he made call after call. Qiao Chen felt even more guilt, but he also thought that is shouldn't really be his fault either. It wasn't like he was the one that made himself fall or lose all his money… Besides, it was all ready too late to arrange the surgery once the movie was finished, so he didn't pay too much attention to it anymore. Or it could have been that he was just too careless and accidentally forgot…

Du Jingnan brought Qiao Chen into a private jet that night. Qiao Chen underwent a variety of examinations the second they arrived at the hospital.

A Country's best brain specialist and doctors immediately had a consultation with Qiao Chen. Everything ran smoothly, and they were ready to operate on Qiao Chen a few days later.

Qiao Chen looked in the mirror. His bald head reflected the light back at him. He thought that he really looked an egg with eyebrows. He looked at his reflection some more. Qiao Chen stared hard at his head and thought about whether or not he should do something with his eyebrows. After some thought, he reasoned that he'd look even weirder if he had shaved off his eyebrows too. Everything he thought of to make himself look better ended up looking too ugly in his imagination. Qiao Chen continued to stare at the mirror unhappily.

Du Jingnan looked at Qiao Chen's unhappy face and hugged him comfortingly. "Your hair will grow back after the operation. Don't worry about it."

"Get me food that will promote hair growth after I finish the operation." Qiao Chen demanded.

"Okay." Du Jingnan agreed. Then he kissed Qiao Chen on the top of his smooth head. Qiao Chen was about to enter the operating room. Du Jingnan would agree with any request. He would arrange good foods that would promote physical recovery first. Things like growing hair would be secondary to Qiao Chen's overall wellbeing.

Before Qiao Chen was rolled into the operating room, Qiao Chen looked at Du Jingnan and asked, "Should I tell you the general plot about the script just in case?"

Du Jingnan had never been a superstitious person. However, he didn't really want to listen to Qiao Chen possibly jinxing something. He didn't want to annoy Qiao Chen either, so he tried to soothe him as he said, "I know you are a talented person, but I don't think we should worry about those things right now. You can just go to sleep without any worries. You don't have to be scared. You don't even have to be nervous either. I'll do it for you. We can review and analyze the scripts' or movies' plots all you want when the operation is over."

"I'm not scared or nervous… Why do I feel like you're even more nervous than I am?" Qiao Chen joked. He didn't feel an ounce of nerves. He looked at Du Jingnan's face, and it looked pretty bad. Who was the one that was undergoing an operation again?

"You're right. You aren't nervous. Go… I'll be waiting for you." Du Jingnan kissed Qiao Chen on the forehead once more. Then he watched as the nurse wheeled Qiao Chen's bed into the operating room.

Du Jingnan waited outside the operating room for the entirety of the operation. Several of the doctors had already assured him that the chances of a mistake occurring during the procedure were slim, but he still couldn't control the anxiety as it ate at him. After all, the head was the most important part of the body. It was also one of the most delicate parts of the body too. Even a tiny little slip up could cause major damage. He wouldn't be so nervous if it had been any other part that was more robust.

Du Jingnan constantly looked at the time as he waited for Qiao Chen's operation to end. This was the first time in his life that he felt like time moved so slowly. Several of his personal assistants and helpers stood in line by the wall, ready to help him at a moment's notice. They noticed that his face turned increasingly darker and darker as the minutes ticked. They were worried that he'd vent all his frustrations on them if they were notices, so they all did their best to reduce their sense of existence.

Before Qiao Chen fell asleep, he turned on the system's repair mode. He was afraid that the operation might affect the system negatively since it was located in his brain. It would be very bad if the system was damaged. Once he set that up, he was put under anesthesia and fell into a deep sleep.

Over ten hours had passed before Qiao Chen was finally rolled out of the operating room. Du Jingnan followed the gurney into the recovery ward. Then he sat down in a chair by the bed and watched the still sleeping Qiao Chen. The doctor came in a few minutes later and reported that the operation was successful. The blood clot was removed and they were able to avoid the fragile nerves in the surrounding area. There was no other damage to Qiao Chen's brain. He continued to tell Du Jingnan that they would observe Qiao Chen for a couple more days. If there were no other problems, then he'd be discharged and sent home for the recovery period.

The entire time Qiao Chen was still asleep, Du Jingnan continued to sit by the bed and watch him. Du Jingnan hoped that he would be the first thing Qiao Chen saw when he opened his eyes. He didn't want Qiao Chen to wake up to an empty room or to the face of a stranger.

The effects of the anesthetics slowly wore off. Qiao Chen felt that same dizziness and nausea he felt when he first transmigrated. His stomach churned, and he felt like vomiting.

Qiao Chen opened his eyes and saw the vague figure of Du Jingnan's face. He suddenly had an indescribable feeling deep within his heart. This was the man he loved for several lifetimes. He had always thought that love would fade. Time would whittle down people's emotions no matter how strong they were until it all disappeared. After all, nothing lasted forever. However, Qiao Chen had been entangled with his beloved for so many lives now, and his feelings for the man had not diminished. In fact, he had become more reliant on him emotionally and mentally. His heart had become addicted. Luckily the man he loved returned these feelings in every life time. Qiao Chen thought that he would very reluctant if the man didn't.

Du Jingnan looked at Qiao Chen as he opened his eyes. However, Qiao Chen seemed to have fallen in a trance. Du Jingnan didn't break him out of the trance. He just gently touched Qiao Chen's cheek.

Qiao Chen's dizziness soon went away, and his vision focused. Qiao Chen asked, "What time is it now?"

"It's already night. How do you feel? Are you uncomfortable anywhere?" Du Jingnan asked.

"I'm still a little dizzy. There's some nausea too. I feel like I'm pregnant." Qiao Chen replied in a quiet voice.

Du Jingnan's original worried mood lessened because of Qiao Chen's reply. "You've never had a baby before. How would you know what it's like to be pregnant? Shouldn't it be more like motion sickness?"

Qiao Chen didn't speak. He stared silently at Du Jingnan and thought, 'I have been pregnant before, and it was your kid too. It's exactly the same uncomfortable feeling…'

"The doctor said that the operation was successful. They'll observe you for a period of time. Once they confirm that there are no further problems, and then you will be discharged." Du Jingnan explained without a clue to Qiao Chen and his past experiences. Then Du Jingnan asked the helpers waiting outside to bring in the fresh soup they personally cooked for Qiao Chen to eat. He had the hospital arrange the most luxurious ward available for Qiao Chen. This ward included a living room, kitchen, and bathroom. Everything was fully furnished and stocked with all sorts of daily necessities.

"How long will it take for the observation period?" Qiao Chen asked.

"Two months." Du Jingnan unblinkingly lied through his teeth.

"Two months?" Qiao Chen raised his voice in surprise. "Who are you trying to trick? Does it take two months of observation if the operation is considered successful? I don't need to take special care for the incision. It doesn't take two months for the incision to heal either."

Qiao Chen's operation was considered a 100% success. It was also true that the doctor said that they only needed to observe Qiao Chen for a couple of days…. However, Du Jingnan still didn't feel at ease. He was planning on staying in this ward for another two months. He would have them observe carefully and make sure that there wouldn't be any more problems or issues that might crop up during the recovery period.

"It will take at least two months for you to grow your hair back to a suitable length. Since it'll take that long for you to grow it, then it'll be the same if we wait for it to grow here or a home." Du Jingnan coaxed.

Qiao Chen still remembered that he needed to quickly solve the problem of Xu Jieming and those snakes and monsters that worked with him. Unfortunately, it seemed like Du Jingnan didn't want to take him back home to China so quickly. It would take some time for his hair to grow too. It would also be difficult for him to go out and meet people with this bald-egg-head of his….

In the end, Qiao Chen agreed to lived in the hospital for the two months. He either watched movies while Du Jingnan hugged him or walked hand in hand with Du Jingnan as they strolled in the gardens every day. Aside from eating and sleeping, Du Jingnan put a pause on all other activities that might bother Qiao Chen. Du Jingnan even solved Qiao Chen's physiological needs very carefully.

Qiao Chen rested a lot during the day, so this meant he was particularly energetic at night. He didn't have it in him to sleep again after sleeping the day away. Idle hands were the devil's worshop, so it was easy for his hands to wander when he was warm and full and had nothing to do. He was laying in Du Jingnan's arms when he reached into Du Jingnan's pajamas. Qiao Chen began to rub Du Jingnan's abs. Then he looked up and alternated between kissing and nipping at Du Jingnan's chin. His provocative intentions were very obvious.

Du Jingnan roll on top of and gently pressed Qiao Chen under his body. Du Jingnan reached into Qiao Chen's pants as he kissed him passionately. He teased and sucked and felt the cool sensation from the minty toothpaste.

"An, un, hm~" Qiao Chen moaned and realeased into Du Jingnan's hands. He still didn't feel satisfied, so he stopped Du Jingnan just as he was about to hurry off and grab a wet wipe from the bedside. Qiao Chen lifted his legs and wrapped them around Du Jingnan's waist before he could go.

"I want more." Qiao Chen tilted his head up and complained. He climbed up and clung onto Du Jingnan's shoulders.

"Be good. You could get hurt if we go any further." Du Jingnan kissed Qiao Chen on the corner of his lips and said.

"What do you mean get hurt? I had surgery on my brain not my ass. Hurry up and get in me. I want it~" Qiao Chen replied. He saw that Du Jingnan wasn't moving, so he rubbed and wriggled seductively against Du Jingnan's body and moaned, "Hurry up, and ahn~ come in me."

Du Jingnan was pushed to his wit's end. He had no choice but to satisfy Qiao Chen.

A month later, at the hospital:

The two woke up early in the morning. A servant came in and brought some soup for Qiao Chen. Du Jingnan accepted the bowl and blew on the soup too cool it down. Then he asked, "How do you feel? Do you feel any discomfort today?"

"Do you have to ask me 70 or 80 times a day before you're okay? I'm too lazy to answer every single time." Qiao Chen rolled his eyes. It felt like Du Jingnan was on a loop. He constantly repeated those two questions to him everydsince the surgery finished.

Du Jingnan smiled. Then he patted Qiao Chen's head. Some hair had grown already. The doctor told him that there weren't any further problems after the observation period ended, so he his nerves had long settledd. Qiao Chen's face had grown smooth and round during his period of recuperation too, so Du Jingnan was very satisfied with Qiao Chen's recovery stage.

Qiao Chen gruffly smacked Du Jingnan's hand away and said with discontent, "You keep touching my head seven or eight hundred times a day too! If I can't grow any more hair because you keep rubbing or patting my head, then I'm blaming it all on you."

Du Jingnan constantly alternated between touching and kissing his head after Qiao Chen had to shave it off for the surgery. Du Jingnan tried to persuade him with a few convincing sentences: Saying that he was fine with the bald head. He said that he could shave his hair after going back home again. Then he would get him Haiqing monk styled clothes and make him wear it. That this would 'make him even more distinctive'.

Qiao Chen didn't even want to reply to Du Jingnan's nonsense with an eye roll. Then he inwardly swore that he would never play monk with him.

Qiao Chen lived in the luxury ward in the hospital for another half month. He didn't feel like he was at a hospital because it felt more like a hotel. However, people would get tired of staying at a hotel eventually. Qiao Chen didn't want to stay any longer and finally convinced Du Jingnan to agree on returning home half a month earlier than planned.

Once they finally returned to China, Qiao Chen and Du Jingnan stayed at home for the rest of the half of the month to recuperate. Qiao Chen's hair also finally grew out enough to the point where he felt like he could go out and meet people. Therefore, after more than two months after Liu Yi called to go out and meet, Qiao Chen returned the phone call. Qiao Chen pretended to hesitate for a bit before he agreed.
