We've put our lives on hold

Dwayne sat at the waiting area in Sky's office, reading some documents when Anton walked in. He had removed his suit jacket and his tie. He was trying to understand the documents he was reading.

"Hey Jayden junior, you look good. I mean the office suits you." Anton said jokingly as he sat down opposite Dwayne.

Sneering, Dwayne looked up at Anton.

"Ok.....easy tiger. Too early? Alright i'm sorry. But you are his son and you know you have the right to use Ms Sky's desk. You can do anything you want with the company." Anton said with a serious look on his face.

"It just feels weird to be called that, I haven't even been able to accept it, you know with Ms Sky's accident. Besides, It's not just my company man, it's ours. Mr Jayden made you both my chaperone, and i can't do it without you two. As for Ms Sky's desk, I can't sit dear, it doesn't feel right. I'm ok in my office. If not for you, I'd still be there now." Dwayne spoke for the first time.

Anton watched Dwayne as he went back to working on the documents. He's been waiting for Dwayne to bombard him with questions about his father but instead he has only asked a few questions like how did they find out, and when did Mr Jayden find out? Dwayne has changed since the accident, he doesn't even have time for Soma anymore, he spend most of his time in the office.

" Hey I'm older than you with a few years and you know Ms Sky's age, so we can't be chaperoning you, more like family. And Dwayne she's not dead, she's alive and in no time, she'll come back to us. She won't be mad at you if yo go out with Soma, she already accepted your relationship long before the accident. You won't even pick Soma calls. We aren't mourning man, Sky is alive. Just look at it like she's on break."

Dwayne smiled. "Wow I don't know which is sad, you advicing me or the fact that you are pretending to be ok. Kira told me you don't sleep in the house anymore, that you never come home. She said you've made the bar your home and even when you come home, you barely spend thirty minutes in the house. Why are you afraid of staying in Ms Sky's house?"

Dwayne raised his brow as he asked Anton the question. Seeing that Anton was short of words, he continued. "Yeah I thought so too. It's not the same without her Anton, I know you feel that way too. I know she's alive but it's been two weeks. She just lays there lifeless, I miss her man. I still see her everywhere in this office, the place still smells like her. I want her to know wherever she is that, our lives are on hold without her so she should hurry back. "

Anton smiled weakly after Dwayne finished talking. It was as if he could read him. He can't bear to loose Sky. First his mother, then Mr Jayden and now the closest person to him, his little sister. No she is coming back.

"You should leave early today Dwayne, you don't look good. I don't think Sky would be happy to see you like this. I want to go pick Kira up so we can go to the hospital." Anton said standing up.

Laughing Dwayne stood up too. "When was the last time you looked into the mirror Anton? You look like a ghost. Please ghost man, wait for me, so we can go to the hospital together."

"Shut up pretty face. I'm not waiting for you. Get your ass there yourself." Anton said as he stormed out of the room.

Brianna smiled at Mena junior as she fed the baby. She watched Neto as he danced around the room with his son. They've literally moved into the hospital. Neto had asked Mrs Onome to go home to go relax a bit while he came early this morning. They've moved Sky to the VVIP with nursery and beds for visitors. Neto had refused to allow anyone pay any bill. He singlehandedly asked for the change of rooms.

Brianna couldn't understand the young man. He's refused to go close to Sky's bed, yes he enters her room and look at her but he doesn't go near her bed. She could see the guilt in his eyes, she wished she could make him feel better. He doesn't go to work anymore and he is always at the hospital with his kids.

"Neto, I think you should go talk to Sky, she needs to hear you clarify things. Even though we've told her what happened, she needs you Neto. Please go to her." Brianna said as she watched him drop the baby.

"I can't." Neto said, looking away. "It's all my fault, she wouldn't be in this condition if not for me."

"The accident was nobody's fault. Mena's takes her bike out alot, it isn't your fault that there was a bad truck blocking the road." Brianna tried to reassure him.

"You don't understand ma'am. If I had agreed to date her properly, There wouldn't have been any need for her to hide the pregnancy from me. I caused it, all i want is for her to wake up, even if she don't forgive me, I'm ok with that." Neto said as he walked to the window.

"I don't know much about you and Mena's relationship. I don't really know you but my sister never spoke ill of you. I remember how she use to smile then whenever she talks about you. Yeah, you were wrong, for not wanting to be with a woman like Mena but I can't blame you Neto, given your background and besides we all make mistake. You have to move on, that's all I can say, you have to move past this Mr Greyson. Please go talk to her."

Brianna watched the young man struggle with himself. The poor boy couldn't even move close to the bed. She knows just what to do. There's only one person who can talk some sense into Neto. She'd have to find time to go see him.
