Chapter 6 - Vampire

While traveling back to my tribe, I thought about my father. I remembered all the interactions I had with him and realized that I neither loved nor hated him. I would say I am grateful to him for providing me with a comfortable place to grow up and teaching me many things I lacked. I felt that we never had any decisive moments together and always found him annoying.

Soon, I arrived at my tribe and entered my house with heavy steps. I noticed that my mother was awake and seemed to be waiting for me.

"Where is he?" she asked emotionlessly.

I soon showed her my father's corpse. She sat there expressionless for a few minutes before bursting into tears. I felt very guilty as I watched her sob. I didn't know what to do, so I hugged and consoled her.

"I'm sorry, Mother, I couldn't save him. It's my fault. But I made sure to kill the bastards who were responsible for it," I lied, as I didn't feel remorseful. But I genuinely love my mother. I really care about her and love her. I would feel sadness if she died. As I thought about this, I faced the harsh reality that not everyone is as immoral as I am.

A grave was erected in honor of my late father. A week passed, but there was no attack from the opposing group. My tribe is still in chaos due to the upcoming leadership change. A woman cannot be the tribe leader, and I am not of age yet. So, it's quite chaotic to decide who will be the next leader. Currently, my mother is acting as the leader until a new decision is made.

At present, I am in the secret lab I created in the last few days to conduct my experiments. An unconscious man lay on the table before me. I am currently testing whether my stone mask can turn him into a vampire.

I slowly placed the mask on his face and spread the blood I collected before over the mask. Suddenly, the tendrils latched firmly onto his face. After just a few seconds, some bubbles started forming all over his body and then bam! His body exploded as blood, flesh, and entrails splattered everywhere.

"As I thought, the tendrils are too strong, as they end up bursting the body instead of unlocking its full potential. It seems I need to study it and create a new mask suitable for humans."

I cleaned the room and brainstormed many ideas on how to create new masks. I know I can create them, as Kars created several of them. I need to study the human body extensively and conduct various experiments to know the acupressure points that stimulate human potential to the fullest.

So, I did exactly that. I put several slaves in my lab and studied them for days. The situation with the tribe is even more chaotic as my mother does her best. "I need to finish this soon if I want to help her in any way."

I stimulated various parts of the human brain and even compared them with my own brain. It took me several days to heal from picking at my brain and studying it.

"Finally," I exclaimed happily as I looked at the beautifully carved stone mask in my hands. It looked similar to the mask from JoJo.

"Now to check if it actually works." I placed the mask on my subject's face and spread some blood over it. The mask rattled and produced a bright light. The tendrils inserted into various parts of his brain.

"Aargh argh aaahh," he regained consciousness while screaming in agony. Soon he fell dead. I waited for a few seconds.

"Is it another failure?" I thought disappointedly. But soon he rose from the table. The tendrils retracted, and the mask fell off.

My gaze fell on his abnormally pale face, which had a touch of green. He had razor-sharp eyes as if they were specifically made to bite a target.

He soon rushed towards me with a feral and crazed expression while screaming, "Blood, blood." I firmly grasped his neck and lifted him. I poured some blood into his mouth as he regained some of his color.

"It seems the mask works. Haha, I am a genius like Kars. Using this, I can create vampires and zombies and build my army," I thought joyfully.

After calming him down, I tested if the blood could generate zombies. I injected some of his blood into the failed subjects, and soon the undead awakened from their slumber.

These guys rushed mindlessly towards me for blood. Since they had weaker wills even when alive, they have no will or personality now. They are just mindless monsters desiring human flesh and blood.

I skillfully kicked them out of the lab, and they were burned to ashes by the sunlight. The newly created vampire was quite scared to see this and became more obedient.

I attacked him again and again and tested his healing capabilities. I had a small fight with him and calculated the amount of control he had over his body. It was much inferior compared to a pillar man.

"I think vampires would be stronger than demons without the blood demon art. When the blood demon art is involved, it highly depends on one's fighting skills and methods."

For some entertainment, I had him make hybrid zombies of different kinds. It was quite bizarre.

After he consumed more blood, I noticed he became stronger, and his control over his body increased significantly.

"So, like demons, they become more powerful the more blood they consume."

After conducting all these experiments, I bade him farewell by inserting my hand into his neck and starting to absorb him. He struggled a lot but eventually gave up.

"Absorbing a vampire is much more gratifying and satisfying than humans," I thought amusingly.

Soon, I left my lab and headed home. It took me a week to create a new mask and test it. I was so engrossed in my research that I didn't notice the passage of time.

When I entered the house, I noticed my mother training. She hadn't been in any battles since I was born.

"Did she feel powerless in the face of my father's death, which is why she's training to increase her power and protect me?" I concluded.

"What happened, Mother? You don't look too well," I asked worriedly.

"I have a battle in two weeks to determine the leader of the tribe," she responded indifferently. "..."
