Arthur's heart was still beating hard in his chest when he landed on the turret where he'd left David. Vivid images of the Wall Barrier's evisceration capabilities lingered in his mind, almost petrifyingly so. He shifted back into his human form and collapsed on the ground, panting.
His core hurt a bunch… but that didn't bother him. Not after he'd prevented his nightmare from coming true.
"Arthur, what did you do?" David asked in a shaky tone.
The prince tiredly turned towards his temporary retainer and noticed a pale expression on his face. He didn't need to explain as vibrations started shaking the turret, coming from the stairs that led to it.
A multitude of armour-clad warriors poured onto the top of the turret, surrounding the prince with Fire Lances. Their faces were all hidden behind fire-resistant dark metal helmets.
