Arthur had no experience with the sword. As a phoenix, training in the way of the lance was mandatory.
And to be honest, the prince was so used to this specific weapon that he couldn't imagine anything else fitting into his palms. The lance simply felt too natural… like an extension of his body.
Looking at the sword, Arthur quickly judged that it was much like the lance but with less of a handle to deal with…
'Must be inconvenient!' he thought, puzzled at how a swordsman was expected to properly balance the deadly weapon…
This type of thinking was quickly proved wrong.
The sword was… a very versatile weapon, capable of a flexible defence, efficient slashing and, with the right footwork and technique, deadly thrusting.
Even better, the sword's required footwork and forms were less intricate as the wielder didn't have to worry about a long handle getting in their way.
