Chapter 30

After the period for Strategic Warfare was over, the second instructor of the day entered the room, making the entire classroom quiet due to the imposing appearance of the man who entered. He was like an imposing berserker judging by the size of his body, with scars visible on his arms that couldn't be hidden by the loose robe he was wearing.

"Good morning, fledglings," he said in a very deep voice, a voice so deep that it resonated through the room, even surprising Marcus. It was filled with authority that commanded fear from anyone who might hear it in a battlefield. It was just too deep to be natural.

But as though the entire class was united, all the students stood up and responded in unison as if they were one being.

"GOOD MORNING, SIR!" the entire class said in complete unity. However, after they spoke, they realized that they had spoken against their will, as if someone had controlled them to do so. Marcus, of course, was one of them, but unlike others who spoke involuntarily, Marcus spoke to avoid being left behind.

"I am Professor Kishimoto, your instructor in the Mystical Class," he said. The students were shocked when they heard him; they had expected the man to be the instructor of something more physical, like Combat Class. They didn't expect him to be the teacher of the Mystical Control Class, one of the most delicate and important subjects at Kijin Academy. Based on his appearance, they thought he was better suited to teach a class involving physical activities. But, as they say, looks can be deceiving.

"As you all may have noticed, you all spoke earlier against your will." Yes, they had spoken against their will earlier, as if something had manipulated them to.

"That is an example of a Mystical Power, it's called Voice of Command." Marcus had felt a probe earlier when the man spoke, and he was right in his guess; Professor Kishimoto's voice was too deep to be natural. However, his Mystical power hadn't managed to bypass Marcus's lightning, as the moment the Mystical energy entered his body, the lightning inside him burned it and disintegrated it into nothing.

"And In this class, I will teach you all the intricacies of your Mystical Powers; I will teach you all how to grasp and familiarize yourselves with the gift you are all fortunate enough to have."

Mystical powers were a unique trait found only in those of the Japanese Pantheon. It was an innate ability unique to one person or a clan. For example, the Nobunaga Clan members had a unique Mystic Power called Commander's Authority, the Ashikage Clan had their Lunar Moon Sword, and the Neko Clan had their Feline Manifestation. It was an ability powered by Mystic energy, which was pretty self-explanatory.

This trait was exclusive only to those in the Japanese Pantheon and served as the main power system of the Japanese Mythological Society. Your prestige and position could be determined by the strength of your Mystical Power.

"Everybody get up," the buff professor said, and everyone who heard his voice got up as if they were dolls being commanded by a puppeteer. Everyone was affected, of course, with the exception of Marcus.

'Follow me," he commanded, and they walked out of the classroom. By the time they arrived at the academy field, Professor Kishimoto had already undone his command.

"You must all be wondering why I have gathered everyone here on the field," he said, gaining a few nods from everybody, who saw that everyone had their attention on him. Seeing everybody's excited expressions, Professor Kishimoto didn't waste any more time and had everyone line up.

"The stage is all yours."

Marcus's POV

As much as this guy likes to control people around, I can't deny he can make a class very interesting.

After Professor Kishimoto gave us the floor, several students started to show off their abilities while he stayed in the back, taking notes. To say that I am entertained is an understatement; I was elated to see everyone's abilities here.

There were just so many interesting things happening that I couldn't help but grin. And by the time everyone was done with their own demonstrations, the bottle finally pointed to me, signaling my turn.

Walking up to the front, I could feel all kinds of gazes on me. I could see they were very curious, even Professor Kishimoto was looking at me with full attention.

Well, I shouldn't disappoint them, should I?

You all want to see something interesting? Then don't mind me, monsieur.

"Ohhh, It's finally Marcus's turn,"

"I wonder what his Mystic Powers are?"

"It should be pretty interesting, right?"

And so the crowd was discussing me. I shouldn't leave them disappointed. With a grin on my face, I walked up to the dummy in the middle of the field. You could call it a dummy, but it's more like a moving puppet for a sparring partner.

"Let there be light." I paused.

"Ning." Then I waved my hands downward and turned my back to it and walked away. After a two-second delay, powerful lightning descended from the sky.

*BOOOOM!!!*

It was maybe one of my greatest explosions to date. The ground shook, not just the ground, the entire academy shook as if a high-magnitude earthquake had unleashed its fury solely on this land.

And by the time I was done, a huge hole that could be a lake if filled with water remained at the very center of the field, with the entire Class 1, Year 1 having their mouths agape from shock. Even the stoic Professor Kishimoto had his mouth wide open from surprise.
