chapter 1: abducted

Percy POV---

--------------------

You know what the worst part about being able to see what others can't, or are too ignorant to see, is? Knowing that everyone is a greedy pig who'll only use you to get what they want, and being called delusional... That's not a good thing either. Either way, I've seen the lies people tell to save their asses, or to warm their way into your heart just to stab you in the back. That's what's happening right now, in front of my entire school, a public murder.

"You think I actually liked you?" She asked, she then smirked. "As if... You're so delusional that you can't even see that I've only been using you... To get to him." She said, flaunting her new prize of a boyfriend. This girl was Helena Price, my ex girlfriend, who cheated on me with my best friend. "You were just a pawn in my game, a pawn that I could sacrifice at any time... I won't lie though, I did kinda like ya." Helena said in a mocking tone, clearly lying.

"Yeah... Right...." I responded, clenching my fist and grinding my teeth.

"See you later... Loser!" she taunted, making an L shape with her fingers and putting them on her forehead as she walked away. I watched the crowd disperse, each person going their seperate ways as I stood there in anger...

Hi I'm Percy Jackson, fourteen year old boy with a major problem with authority, bad-boy delusional kid who once destroyed a gym... And a museum.... And a lot of other stuff I'm not exactly proud of. People say I'm delusional, or that I'm crazy, but I'm perfectly sane and healthy... They only say that because I can see things they can't, horribly ugly things, who like to roam the streets and eat people... See why they call me crazy? I wasn't even locked in a rubber room full of rats! Either way, my life sucks, and unfortunately... I'm stuck on this earth for another, let's see, oh that's right. The rest of my life. If it weren't for my mom, I probably would have five life sentences for murdering everyone that pissed me off.... Remember how I said I was sane? Well you can throw that statement out the window, just chuck it, throw it like you want to throw that one annoying kid you have to put up with out the window so he can break a few bones.... I need serious help. Jokes aside, my life is better compared to other's lives, so I try to stay happy with what I have.

"Jackson!" Coach yelled down the hallway, clipboard in hand. "Hurry your ass up and get in this gym, I don't have time for you to dilly dall out in the hall!" coach yelled, nodded, and then went back into the gym.

"And people say I'm on drugs..." I said under my breath, as I then sighed. Not wanting to get in trouble and have the rest of my day get fucked up, I entered the gym and lined up at the front of the line.

"Alright shrimps! Summer vacation is almost here, so I don't want any of you pansies to forget to stay in shape." Coach stated, resting his clipboard at his waist. "So for the next week and a half I will put you through hell and back! Let's start with fifty laps around the school!" he yelled, blowing his whistle. The entire class groaned and began to head outside to run laps, however, I used the crowd as a cover for my daring escape. As the class went to go run a marathon a few times, I went to the library to ease my crippling depression... Again, kidding. The school library was amazing, not only because it had like... Thousands of books in it, but because of one, miniscule thing most people take for granted.... Silence. Amazing isn't it? How one simple thing can affect people, and by people, I mean me specifically. Plus, the librarian, Mr. Tong is really helpful to the students seeking knowledge.

"Morning Percy." Mr. Tong greeted, I turned to face him.

"Morning Mr. Tong." I responded, smiling a fake smile.

"Don't you have gym right now?" He asked, pushing his glasses further up his face.

"Coach is making us run laps around the school, didn't want to die of exhaustion, so I came here instead." I answered, leaning on his desk.

"Sounds like a nightmare, I don't get why he insists on teaching kids power over strategy, you can't win battles with power alone." He stated, I made a mental note to remember that.

"I'm like ninety percent sure coach is on steroids anyway, either that or he's some kind of superhuman, or madman." I said, a small smile playing on my lips.

"The last one sounds like a pliable theory." He said, turning a page in his book with a smile.

"It was nice chatting with ya Mr. Tong, I'll be in the back if you need me." I said, walking towards the back of the library.

"Alright kiddo, I'll be here, reading." He replied, turning another page in his book. Walking among the shelves of books I began to make my way to the back of the library, opting for a comfy chair in the back. To my surprise, there was already someone there, a beautiful white haired girl with glasses. The girl had silver eyes that seemed to shine a little brighter in the dark, she wore a black tank top and torn up jeans.

"Hi." I said, smiling a fake smile as I waved a little bit. She looked up from her book and smiled back, a beautiful smile that radiated kindness and purity.

"Hi." She replied, her voice happy and cheerful. I then sat down next to her, and her eyes followed me.

"I'm Percy, what's your name?" I asked her, she pushed her glasses up a bit higher and smiled a little brighter.

"My name's Layla, it's nice to meet you." She replied, I then stook my hand out for her to shake. Shaking my hand, she went back to reading her book. Hours past by as we both sat there in silence, Layla reading her book, and me playing quietly on my phone. Finally, something broke the silence as the bell for lunch rang. She got up, closing her book, and walked off towards the lunch room. I remained seated, not caring about getting lunch, and continued to play on my phone. Eventually, I fell asleep and entered the land of dreams. In my dream I stood in a vast array of nothingness, no sound, no colors, just nothing. Then out of nowhere, a ocean blue screen appeared.

'Commencing tutorial, please stand by.' It read, confusing me as to what it was talking about.

'Hosts body type-----affjrmed

Hosts blood type------afirmed

Hosts bloodline-------affirmed

Personalizing the system for host-----completed.

Host may begin the tutorial'

"Tutorial for what? What's happening?" I asked, confused at the situation.

'Beginning tutorial' the last screen showed, right before I blacked out.

When I came to I heard many sounds, metal clashing, yelling, screaming, sounds of a battle. Opening my eyes I saw a giant one-eyed beast standing above me, with a hammer in the air. Realizing what was happening, I quickly rolled out the way as the creature slammed the hammer down into the ground, leaving a small crater in the earth. I stood up quickly and looked around at my surroundings, bodies of teenage kids littered the ground, those that were still standing were dressed in armor and carrying swords and shields... Weird creatures fought them, they easily outnumbered the humans, but the creatures were dropping like flies. Too distracted by everything around me, I failed to notice the hammer coming my way, as I got hit in my entire upper body by it and was sent flying through the air. I landed on the ground, HARD, as I heard something snap... Most likely my ribs, barely pushing myself up I noticed where I had landed, and I cursed my luck. I landed right in the middle of the herd of monsters, and once I stood up, I got knocked right back down again by a gigantic dog. The dog dug it's claws into my skin, screaming in pain as I felt warm hit liquid pour down my chest. The dog then bared it's sharp teeth as it glared down at me, and then went in for the kill. I shut my eyes in fear, expecting it's sharp teeth to sink into my flesh and tear it to shreds... But it never came, and I opened my eyes. Above me stood a beautiful blond girl with stormy grey eyes, a golden knife in hand. Speaking of said knife the knife currently was in the giant dogs neck, effectively killing it, and turning it to dust. She extended her hand to help me up, her blonde curly hair blowing in the wind. I wish I can say I took her hand and stood up, but I didn't, I laid there on the ground like an idiot.

"Get up idiot! You'll die if you stay down there!" As if reading my thoughts, she yelled at me. I quickly took her hand and stood up, grunting as I did so, and clutching my torn shirt. "Follow me." She ordered, and then took off. I followed suite, only a few steps behind her. She tore her way through the monster masses with her dagger in hand, clearing a path for us. But lady luck had to strike again, as she was suddenly hit with a fifty ton bat. She flew about twelve feet back before he caught herself, once she landed he held her stomach in pain. A giant one-eyed creature wearing a full set of armor stepped closer to her, a giant wooden bat in hand.

"Lord Kronos demands that you perish." It said, pointing it's bat at the girl. She smirked as she stood up fully, flipping her knife around in her hand.

"Come get me then you one-eyed buffoon." She remarked, angering the giant. The two then charged at each other, the giant swung his bat down causing the girl to jump out the way. Before the giant could lift it up she jumped onto the bat and ran up it to the top and up his arm and jumped, gunning to slash the seven meter tall giant on his neck. The giant simply moved his body a little to his left and the girl began to plummet, stopping herself from falling to her death the girl stabbed her dagger into the giants back and rode it down, causing the giant to wince in pain. Once she reached the bottom she removed her dagger and redid what she just did with the giants leg, successfully landing on the ground unharmed. She quickly slashed the tendon in the giants foot and caused a small gash to form, the giant however didn't like this and used his heel to kick her back. The girl went skidding across the ground but eventually caught herself and halted herself to a stop, she grunted as she glared at the giant and charged once more. I watched as the two engaged in a marvelous dance of skill and fortitude, each opponent taking and giving hits. I was astonished as I watched the girl move around the battlefield like a practiced dancer, each movement and stride had purpose and meaning, she moved elegantly and weaved through her opponents defenses. However, horror struck as the girl was suddenly hit by an axe, getting sent flying. The giant now dual wielded, the bat in his left hand, and a blunt axe in his right. The girl rolled across the ground until her back hit a tree, causing her to cough blood. She tried to stand, but ultimately failed, collapsing back down to the ground again. The giant began walking towards her, swinging both his weapons. As the giant neared the blonde, I desperately looked around for a way to save her, my eyes landing on a chipped and broken down bronze sword. I ran and quickly grabbed the sword, running to get in between the two. I slid slightly across the ground as I got in between the two of them, grasping the handle of the sword and pointing it at the giant.

"Oh? And who might you be?" The giant Cyclops asked, stopping in his tracks.

"I'm uh..... Um..." I said, the sword shaking slightly in my hands.

"What are you doing.... You idiot?" The girl asked weakly, propping herself up better to see me. I looked at her, and saw how broken she was, how hurt she was. I breathed in and out, calming myself, and pointed the tip of the sword at the Cyclops.

"I am Percy Jackson, protector of... Of the... Of the mighty vending machine!" I yelled, pulling out every ounce of courage I had. "Fear me!" I yelled, the Cyclops, to my surprise, widened his eye.

"Impossible, you do not possess the strength to guard the mighty vending machine!" The Cyclops yelled, causing me and the girl to look on in confusion... That actually worked? "I shall kill you for your lies!" He yelled, and before I could even react, he swung his axe down on me. Everything around me slowed down as the axe neared me, and suddenly I had started to regret everything... Not getting revenge on helena, not learning to overcome my dyslexia, not asking the blonde behind me her name, not telling my mom I loved her enough... But most of all, I regret not living. I had spent my entire life trying to please everybody, I had spent my entire life sulking away in my bedroom playing video games or watching TV, for never making another real friend, for never enjoying the view, and for never finding something I enjoy... I regret everything, and as the axe was inches away from my head, I finally realized something.... Life moves a little fast, if you don't stop and look around every once in awhile, you might miss it... And yes I know that's a quote from Ferris buellers day off, so sue me.

'Initiating host preservation mode' a mechanical voice said as I blacked out...

And my eyes glowed white.

So obviously there are some major changes to the original pjo story, and those are as followed.

1. Camp Jupiter and camp half blood work together as allies in the war, so Jason and Reyna are there

2. Kronos has already risen and taken over someones body, he just doesn't appear in the battles because he's still very weak

3. The war between Olympus and Kronos has been going on for a few years, therefore demigod population has reached an all-time low

4. Only a few cabin heads can attend war council, due to a mole problem

That's all for now, see y'all in the next chapter, adios
