Chapter Forty-Nine

Xiao Zhan was chilling in the cafeteria of the set for the new production of The Untamed, starring it and playing the main role of Wei Wuxian. Xiao Zhan loves playing historical dramas but it wasn't good for his hairline. But he would pay the price over and over again for such an intriguing storyline that The Untamed offered.

The Untamed was based on a historical BL novel, where a boy named Wei Wuxian is taken in by a Sect. called the Jiang's where he was raised by the Sect. Leader and is seen as a sibling by his children Jian Cheng and Jiang Yanli. Wei Wuxian is a misunderstood hero and it's described as a war between the cultivation world and another power-hungry Sect Name Wen's. Wei Wuxian loses his core after the burn of his home and the loss of his brother's golden core. He adopts the dark arts which help him win the war for the Sect but later used to keep the last living and innocent Wen's alive which not only caused the death of his sister and his own life.

Sixteen Years later he is brought back to life by a desperate boy and finds his old friend from his past life while he was studying in another Sect. called Cloud Recesses. His friend becomes his best friend in his life, though in the novel he is supposed to be his later lover, China's laws forbid such an outcome on air. So instead Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji have to settle for a brotherly close relationship.

Shaking his head as he read the script Xiao Zhan felt nothing but excitement to be able to work on this drama.

"Xiao Zhan come meet your co-star." the director calls him.

Quickly closing the script and tucking it under his arm Xiao Zhan meets over to the director and next to him is a young boy he has only met a few times, named Wang Yibo. Bowing politely, Xian Zhan says, "It's a pleasure being able to work with you Wang Yibo."

Stiffly Wang Yibo bows back, "I feel the same Teacher Xiao, please treat me well."

Smirking Xiao Zhan motions for Wang Yibo to follow him and together they sat down to have lunch and to get to know one another, they hit it off like they were old friends from another life perhaps.
