Strange Occurence

[Note: Due to advice give by readers, from here on out, the novel will not be as fast-paced and I will not skip over as much as I have in the past chapters. Chao Feng was still stood outside of Chao Lieshuan's two five-story houses, which were beside each other with around twenty feet distance between them. The outer walls were a milky white colour, and the roof was completely flat, meaning its appearance wasn't quite visible to Chao Feng.

Chao Feng's mind started hurting. What had just occurred? A comet came crashing down, but it wasn't actually there and now my dantian feels as though it is being chewed up and then regurgitated. What should I do now?

Such thoughts were present in Chao Feng's mind as he remembered one thing that he could do, meditation.

His dantian was hurting, and meditation was the only thing he knew of that involved the dantian, furthermore, the feeling of relief after meditation was unrivalled.

He sat down in front of Chao Lieshuan's house and began to meditate. However, he could not draw in spiritual energy, instead, he could only condense the abundance of energy already present inside of his body. He also noticed something else that was strange, all of his blood was flowing towards his dantian. And inside of his dantian was the most shocking thing of all, there was a pearl-white egg!

All of the blood and spiritual energy in his body was flowing towards the egg, not his dantian. It was attempting to hatch. Furthermore, he was already at the third rank of the Martial Origin realm! That was why his spiritual energy was condensing and not being taken in.

Chao Feng was stupefied. "I skipped over the entire second rank?! That is apparently the most important rank! However, I have all this spiritual energy. I guess I didn't need to experience the second rank. This is related to the egg and the comet, no doubt."

By the time Chao Feng exited the state of meditation, two hours had passed. He got up and knocked on the wooden door, waiting for a few seconds before he saw a tall, robust man standing in the frame which was smaller than him.

"You are Chao Feng?" He asked in a deep voice.

"Yes."

"Haha, no need to look like that. Welcome, this is your new home. My son, Chao Zheng is currently away, as I'm sure you know. At the annual family gathering in a few months, he will return for around three weeks. Until then, his room will be yours and when he returns, you will share the room." Chao Lieshuan laughed at Chao Feng's startled and intimated expression. "I heard you failed the Black Dragon Academy's admission test. Here, take this."

Chao Lieshuan pulled out a fruit from his pocket. It was red, but with the shape of a potato and it had prickly spikes all over its body, like a porcupine.

"This is a Thorny Spiritual Fruit. As cultivators, our spiritual energy is not completely pure as we take it in from our surroundings, who knows what untold damage happens to it during its travel to us. You are currently at the first rank of the Martial Origin realm, correct?"

Chao Feng nodded his head, hiding his real cultivation level. If he said the truth, it would cause too much uproar and furthermore, Chao Peng might want him back.

"This is mostly beneficial for third rank cultivators because they have completed absorbing spiritual energy, and now need to condense it but at the third rank, the condensation is a negligible amount. This is when the spiritual energy is still mostly in a gaseous state, which is when the impurities can be removed." Chao Lieshuan explained.

"Lucky me!" Chao Feng laughed in his head but he kept a neutral demeanour on the outside.

"This spiritual herb needs to be refined. Refining it may take a while for you, so I recommend you enter seclusion. In the second building, there are three cultivation rooms. The third was recently restored for you. Enter the room on the third floor with your name and lock the door. The environment is very good for cultivation." Chao Lieshuan advised Chao Feng.

"Yes, sir." Chao Feng replied.

"Sir? Hahaha, when has anyone called me that? Call me father." Chao Lieshuan ruffled Chao Feng's hair and laughed.

That smile moved Chao Feng as he understood.

"This man truly loves me and wants to care for me. Chao Peng only wanted to use me to show off if I had talent, or to discard if I didn't. Chao Yuan only wanted to use me for my spiritual meals. This man is my true father. That bastard, he is nothing but my enemy." Chao Feng thought as he smiled contently before bowing and venturing to the second building, which was very close.

Both buildings were very similar in appearance, they were tall like towers and each had the same amount of floors. It looked like two apartment towers standing shoulder-to-shoulder, built on top of a luxurious and large garden filled with spiritual herbs.

Chao Feng entered the second building and went to the third floor, noticing three rooms that if they were joined by lines would create a triangular shape. He saw the largest room had Chao Lieshuan's name on it, the second largest room had Chao Zheng's name on it, and his room was the smallest.

He pushed the door open, noticing that the room had a fire pool similar to the Black Dragon Academy and a ice pool for recovery after tempering the body. To the right, he noticed another door that had "Meditation Area" in gold letters. He entered that room, noticing that it was completely barren with a pale yellow floor and creamy white walls.

He sighed and sat down on the floor, noticing that the floor was extremely comfortable.

"Is this what he was talking about when he mentioned that the conditions are very good for cultivation?" Chao Feng laughed inwardly, assuming a meditation position and beginning to cultivate once again.

He drew the blood and spiritual energy back to his dantian, in an attempt to hatch the egg. Whenever his heart produced more blood*, he brought it straight to the egg's tough shell. His curiosity exceeded his rationality, he was bursting to know what was inside the egg gifted to him by a peculiar falling comet.

[Note: Human body has adapted to cultivation, this is an adaptation. Heart begins to produce new blood when there is no blood in the veins due to cultivation, however, when the absence of blood is not from cultivation, it does not.]

After his mental energy was exhausted from repeated intense assaults of attacking the egg's shell, he rested for a bit, simply circulating spiritual energy throughout his veins and blood vessels, strengthening his body. By the time his mental fatigue had subsided, his body was three times stronger than it was before entering seclusion. Chao Feng began to assault the egg again and long before his mental energy was completely expended, a large crack appeared on the egg's shell.

That was satisfactory enough for Chao Feng, as he also knew he needed to refine the Thorny Spiritual Fruit. To refine a special cultivation herb, fruit, pill and such, one needed to first break down the binding agents of the fruit with their spiritual energy, separating the physical fruit and the spiritual properties of the fruit. Then, one need to consume the fruit and simply use their spiritual energy to break the spiritual properties' defences before it becomes one with the spiritual energy.

Upon consuming the fruit, the fruit would be broken down by the stomach acid and once broken down, instead of following the normal route, would enter the dantian, yielding the full results of the fruit to the user.

Naturally, Chao Feng did not know this. So, he just ate the fruit without removing the spiritual properties first. Little did he know, this mistake would be prove to yield a result greater than the original effect.
