Not a crime, but a necessity

A group of men, exuding the aura of a strong cultivator suddenly strolled over and started maniacally laughing once they saw the defenceless Liu Mei.

"What a beauty! Don't be shy, we just want to have a chat." Seeing the Liu Mei who was slowly backing away, they called out.

Liu Mei continued to retreat, moving closer to Chao Feng who hadn't noticed anything yet as he was preoccupied with picking the cultivation herbs.

At that instant, one of the men appeared in front of her, grabbing onto her white robe. "I said, don't be shy."

The other men rushed over, each of them laughing and touching Liu Mei's untouchable areas, attempting to drag her away before a flash of lightning suddenly struck from nowhere, decapitating one of the men instantly.

"Who the fuck dares to kill my bro Jiang Wen? Come out here now, unless you're a puss-" One of the men who was a close friend of the man who just died begun, but his head was cut off too.

At that moment, the remaining five men released their grip on Liu Mei's clothes and unleashed their auras.

Chao Feng, who had used his hand as a blade to execute the Unrivalled Sword of Purity skill, which he had almost mastered, suddenly stopped moving too fast for the men to see, appearing directly in front of the supposed leader of the group.

"What the fuck? Is it you?" The man asked, moving to grab Chao Feng by the collar.

The man was only at the fourth level of the Origin realm, and he dared to be this arrogant. He had neglected his body's strength and speed, focusing on the cultivation level alone.

Furthermore, he was around five years older than Chao Feng, even in the entire Eastern Grasslands region, he would be considered a decent talent.

Yet Chao Feng was one cultivation level below hi with such an age difference, that demonstrated his status as an amazing talent.

"Courting death!" Chao Feng snorted, easily avoiding the hand and sending a left-handed punch right to his face, making him retreat many steps away.

Chao Feng used the second destruction style once again. In a blink, all of the men were dead except the leader who had initiated the attack on Liu Mei in the first place. Chao Feng was saving him for last.

While he waited for the leader to recover, he called out to Liu Mei.

"Are you alright? I'm sorry that I didn't notice sooner, I was too engrossed in my work."

Liu Mei nodded her head. Chao Feng smiled and turned back to the man.

"Oi. You dared to touch my friend without knowing who I am." Chao Feng called out.

"Heh. And who are you? My brother will teach you a lesson, I've already sent the message ti him and he will arrive soon, in the presence of a fifth level cultivator, what will you do?" The man was not scared in the slightest.

"Fifth level? With a sword in my hand, what is a mere fifth level but an ant?" Chao Feng snorted, using the second destruction style and appearing in front of the man, punching him again but with restrained strength so that he didn't accidentally kill him.

He noticed that the man had a sack too, as well as all of the other men he had killed.

He smirked: "These are most likely filled with herbs and plants, I have really hit the jackpot today."

After thinking that, he began to pummel the man's face with his fists on the floor, transforming his face into a bloody mess.

Then, he used the rope he had packed in his sack to tie him to a tree, letting him die slowly and painfully.

"If you ever harm me or my friends, know that I will return upon you what you delivered to me by several times." With that parting sentiment, Chao Feng walked towards Liu Mei, who was watching him with horror in her eyes.

"This man… is a monster!" Liu Mei was extremely frightened by Chao Feng's ruthless and demonic methods, yet underneath the horror, there was pure admiration.

She knew that he had done what he did for her sake and protection, and she also knew that what he did was right. But his methods were simply too cruel!

"What's wrong? Did they hurt you?" Chao Feng rushed over, inspecting Liu Mei's body with no intentions. There were no injuries on her body, and so Chao Feng let out a relieved sigh.

"I am so sorry for not coming earlier. If there is a next time, they will be dead before looking at you." Chao Feng apologised and didn't think about it for too long, he didn't want to focus on his first kill.

In reality, he scared himself. He didn't know that he could be driven to the point of doing that to a person, it was almost as if he wasn't in control of his own body.

"Thank you." Liu Mei said softly.

Those words shocked Chao Feng as he realised something.

"When murder is for a reason, it isn't a crime, it is a necessity."

Chao Feng suddenly felt enlightened. At that moment, he heard a loud sound from his dantian.

"Hahahahaha, human, you are finally becoming less stupid." The dragon was laughing loudly.

"Dragon? What happened to my dantian? I would already be at the fourth level of the Origin realm if it wasn't for this?" Chao Feng called out inwardly, realising that the dragon could hear his thoughts.

"Human, by the time the barrier is lifted, the benefits will be much greater than simply advancing to the fourth level, you will be able to do things never seen in the entire Lower Chaotic Realm!" The dragon proclaimed before disappearing.

The world was known as the Lower Chaotic Realm, and it had four continents, the Eastern Grasslands, the Northern Desert, the Western Sea and the Southern Mountainside.

The names of the continents explained their territory, the Eastern Grasslands was full of grass and forests and so on.

Chao Feng tried to call out again before he shook his head and sighed inwardly.

"What's wrong?" Liu Mei asked, noticing Chao Feng's shaking head.

"It's nothing." Chao Feng brushed it off and continued walking before he saw a pair of eyes in the shadows created by the trees.

Suddenly, a huge man popped out from behind the trees with agility far beyond what should he capable for someone of his stature.

"You…" The man exuded a huge amount of killing intent as he aimed his sword at Chao Feng.

"You killed my brother, now you will pay!"

After saying that, he suddenly charged towards Chao Feng, aiming for a slice at his neck.

Chao Feng barely managed to dodge it as he was caught off guard but he recovered and delivered a punch to the man's stomach but he didn't manage to even faze him.

The man brandished his sword once again, missing Chao Feng by an inch as Chao Feng activated the second destruction style and kicked at the man's legs, making him fall to the ground, which caused the ground to shake violently.

After that, Chao Feng picked Liu Mei up and used the second destruction style, solely directing the spiritual energy towards his feet as he fled.

He understood that in a fight with the man who was definitely the brother that the leader of the other group of men mentioned, he would not be able to win without a sword, and he didn't have time to get his sword out from his sack during the fight so he momentarily fled to retrieve it and then he would go back and engage in proper combat with the man.

Chao Feng was willing to die, but he wasn't willing to be a coward.
