Chapter Four

I picked up Lily placing her on my hip spinning around as she giggled. I then set her down on the chair and started to put her hair up in two pigtails. She was only two so therefore there wasn't too much. I then picked her up carrying her to the kitchen.

"Wucy hair," she said.

"What about Lucys hair baby," Westin said.

"No," she said pointing to her hair

"Wucy hair."

"Lucy did your hair," he asked.

"Yes," she shouted.

"Wucy hair," I felt a tug on my jeans and looked down to see Luke.

"You want me to do your hair too," I asked.

"Pwease," he said.

"Here," Westin holds his arms out for Lucy as soon as he has Lucy, I pick up Luke. Taking him back to the living room where I had the hair ties set up. "I appreciate you helping me with their hair."

"You're welcome. It just feels like I missed so much of their life's," I replied brushing Luke's hair I then pulled the top of his hair up in a ponytail.

"Tank you," he shouted running off.

"Thank you for letting me stay on the couch for the week," I said "It just feels awkward with the fight. It wasn't even a big fight we've had worse." I entered the room again sitting down at the table.

"He was worried about you, angry about not noticing what happened to you, and probably hurt that you didn't tell him about what happened. I know I'm a little hurt that you didn't tell me," Westin said.

"I was scared, and I loved him so much," I said.

"I know I understand why you didn't tell me it just hurt. It hurt that you didn't trust me. Part of me keeps wishing you had. That way I could have helped you. But I get why you didn't because if you had I would have punched him in his smug face," He said, "He just better hope the cops find him before I do."

"No violence please," I said.

"No hit daddy," Lily said.

"You heard her," I said.

"Yes, baby your right violence is never the answer," he said to her "you're sure your up to watching them for the day."

"Of course," I said, "were going to the park."

"Park," Luke yelled.

"Park," Lily yelled.

"Eat your breakfast first," I said to them.

"Run Wily," Luke yelled.

"I have to teach how to say there L's," Westin said.

After the kids finished eating, we rode with Westin into town. After we said our goodbyes to the family and I loaded them up in a two-seat stroller. We then started to make our way to the closes park. I know it very well it's the same one my siblings, cousins, and I went to as kids. I played with the kids running around the park with them. Eventually we took a snack break on a blanket I brought.

"Hey little red," a voice behind me said I turn to see Red.

"Why little red," I asked.

"That's what the group has taken to calling you," he said sitting down beside me "I think it's because I'm so much taller than you."

"I have to ask," I said, "why did your parents name you Red didn't they know you were going to be teased."

"They didn't. They named me Dalton," he said, "bullies called me Red because of the hair and now it's my lucky color."

"What was the last lucky thing that happened with the color Red," I asked.

"Well, there was this crazy kid who ran in front of my motorcycle," he said.

"How does red have anything to do with that," I asked.

"Well, you see that black bike over there," he said pointing to a black bike a few feet away "that's my bike. The other night I was driving Aj's red bike and lucky for you because turns out my bike's break lines were cut. Probably The Fiery Tire's I had a pretty big race against them that night. We both got lucky that night thank you Red."

"Thank you Red," I said.

"Hey, can I ask you something," he asked.

"Sure."

"I swear this isn't the only thing I have been hanging out with you for."

"Tell me."

"Who was that guy that came to help you that night."

"Chris the police officer."

"No."

"Uncle Gage."

"No not that one."

"Uncle Dennis."

"No, he is cute though, I don't want to date men that are that much older than me. The younger cute redhead," he said.

"Westin," I asked with a knowing smile.

"Yes."

"What about him?"

"What gender is he interested in?"

Bringing my knees up to my chest "Uncle Dennis was the first ever person in our family to come out. Then I came out when I was like fifteen. I like to say that he paved the way for me. But Westin has never came out I haven't actually seen him date anyone. It probably doesn't make it any better that he has so much going on all the time. From taking care of mom and dad's restaurant, to taking care of us, to taking care of the twins."

"The twins," he asked I motioned my head over to the twins who were playing in the sand not but a foot in front of me "he has children? But didn't you just say he hasn't dated anyone?"

"Not that I've seen," I said, "and the twins came to him in an unorthodox way."

"They're cute. You think I would be a good Stepfather," He said, "they could call me Papa."

"Why Papa," I asked.

"Because the only person I want to call me Daddy is your brother," he said as I started laughing.

"That was the cringiest thing ever," I said.

"Your the cringiest thing ever," he said.

"You talked about a race," I asked.

"Please tell me you've been to The Track," he said he must have noticed my hesitation "No Limits Track outside of town."

"Nope," I said.

"Never heard of it or anything," he said.

"No," I said.

"What are you doing tonight," He asked.

"Westin gets off at like ten until then I have these two," I said he thought pretty hard for a second.

"Okay you're coming with me tonight," he said "races usually start around ten thirty. I'm pretty sure we can make it."

"Sure, why not," I said to him.

"Great so there's like six teams although there's talk about adding two more after this month. There's two of the same number in the hat then we draw and that's who we face in the coming up weeks. It's spread out between three weeks and the fourth week is usually off. So, the team who picked one will go on the next week until we've worked our way through them. There's The Greasers, The Fiery Tires, The Grim Riders, Road Rash, The Phoenix Warrior's, and the best group The Devil's Reject's."

"So, Ava and Callum are also in The Devil's Reject's," I asked.

"No, they're in The Phoenix Warrior's," He said "Okay so TDR that's the acronym for my team. So, TDR and The Fiery Tires have had beef for a long time which is why we prank each other. They went too far this time but were not going to talk about that. Well, the other members of TDR don't like me very much. So, I met the others through the races and when we learned that we went to the same school. We started to hang out together in and out of school."

"So, you're not on the same team," I asked.

"No sadly but I think it makes it more fun to actually race against them," he said, "that's who we'll see racing tonight I don't have a race this week."
