Chapter 21- Boss Monster (Part 3)

"Graaaaaa!!!!!" The monster screeched and tried to grab Reo while he was in the middle of the air. Its giant hand moved swiftly like a bullet and reached him in less than a second.

"Woah." Reo exclaimed casually and flipped in the air.

Then, he waited for the perfect moment when the hand will reach him. It was a ridiculously dangerous stunt that could end up with him smashed into the ground. However, he couldn't care less about that and went on with his plan.

*Swish*

At the perfect moment, he put his arms on top of the hand and pushed himself up in the air. The strength he gained from leveling up helped him push himself up even though he was not light at all. Was it not for that extra raw power, he would've never been able to pull that off?

His arms contracted and then expanded along with all of the muscles of his body. Instantly, he was thrown in the air again. But, this time, he didn't wait for the monster to attack him again and moved in for the hit.

Reo's journey to the monster's head continued. Every jump he made, every move and every dodge was polished to perfection through rigorous years of training he had to go through. That level of technique made him on par with a monster three levels higher than him.

"Let's dance for a little bit more." He said and tightened his fist.

*Bang*

His punch tilted the monster's head and made it lose its balance. However, except for that, the monster was basically unscathed… just way madder now.

"Shit." Reo cursed as he looked down searching for a place to land on.

"Grrrrr!!!" The loud cry of the Uruv made him clench his teeth and jump immediately.

*Swish*

Has he been one second late, he would've been slapped into the horizon and probably died on the spot.

'Come on, Cassia.' He thought and searched for his partner.

*Crackle*

The sound of lightning moving around echoed in the chaotic area. Then, from behind the monster, a hand extended and punched the Uruv's leg.

*Sizzle*

The hit burned the skin on the monster's leg and made it jump in the air from pain.

*BOOOOMMM*

Landing on the ground again, the Uruv cracked the ground open like a biscuit and destroyed every rock around them.

Pebbles of all sizes were sent flying everywhere at the speed of arrows.

Reo tried to avoid all of them while running closer and closer to the boss. But, he can't dodge all of these pebbles.

Many of them hit him violently and cracked open his skin making blood ooze out. He ignored the pain and kept running as fast as he could. The monster had fallen down and it was an opportunity for him to attack it while it was vulnerable.

*BANG*

He jumped in the air and kicked the monster's face. The hit alone was more than enough to make the monster's head get carved deeper into the ground. Reo was nearly as powerful as three average humans and that was no joke at all.

"Graaaa!!!" The boss tried to stand up again but Reo wasn't finished.

"One more thing…" He said and planted his hand in the monster's eye.

"GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!" The awful scream that came out of the Uurv king was so blood-curdling that it made Reo freeze for a moment.

Then, without waiting for it to try and do anything, he jumped away and escaped.

"It's not over!!" Cassia shouted for Reo who was not looking back.

He tried to peek behind him hurriedly.

*Boom*

"UGH!!" Reo groaned in pain as a rock hit him right in the back. His body fell down.

'Fuck, it started throwing boulders now.' He thought to himself as he dug his hands deeper into the ground and pushed himself up.

*Crack*

He could hear an unhealthy crack coming from his spinal cord.

"Damn, that almost made me look like gramps. Having a bent back is not fun. Ugh!!" He muttered and started running again.

Meanwhile, Cassia also was moving around the boss trying to find its weak point. She knew that this creature must have a part where its body is not as rock solid as it is.

*Bang* *Bang*

Rocks flew all around here and created even more chaos. It was as if the sky was raining boulders with a mix of dirt and potential trees.

"Come on, it must be there somewhere." She muttered.

But, no matter how much she tried to search for it, there was nothing eye-catching about the monster.

'I can't see clearly with how the monster is moving constantly.' She thought and looked at Reo.

"Distract him for a few moments, I want to get closer!"

"How can I distract this abomination?" He asked with a weird look.

"I don't know, deal with it."

Then, without waiting for a moment, she dashed toward the boss.

"Fuck, this is gonna hurt for sure." He cursed under his breath.

"Hey, chunky boy! I am here. You are too fucking slow I might go to sleep." He lay down on the ground and pretended to sleep just to provoke the monster even more.

"Graaaaaaa!!!"

The plan worked as the Uruv lost its mind and charged toward Reo without caring about anything else.

"Damn it!" He quickly stood up and started running towards it too.

He knew that running away will only work for 2 or 3 seconds before it closed the distance between them and caught him. His only solution is to get closer and keep running through its legs to confuse the boss.

*Smash*

Another earth-shaking smash threw Reo in the air. He didn't lose his composure in such a bad situation. His goal was to only buy time.

"Chunky boy is soft!!" He scorned it again.

"Graaa!!"

*Smash*

"Woah, I am literally flying. Cassia! Are you done over there? He is getting pretty mad!"

"Not quite! Just a little bit more."

"A little bit more is more than enough to make me turn into a piece of paper!" He retorted loudly and avoided another smash.

"GRAAA!!"

*Smash* *BOOMM*

The rampage continued as the monster wreaked havoc in the whole place, chasing after Reo as if it was the last thing in the world. The whole area had already turned into a mess of dirt and rocks with no sign of its previous, green and neat look.

Reo kept running around and zigzagging through the monster's legs as he tried to confuse it. The plan worked but it also exhausted him a lot. Running around at such a high speed with constant jumps and rolls made it even more tiresome.

"Cassia! I am getting cornered like a rat here! Did you find the weak point?" He called for the girl again with even more impatience.

"Target the left part of its torso! That's the place." She replied and jumped on the Uruv king's leg. She then started to climb quickly.

"Easier said than done. Still fun though."

He also jumped on the monster's arm and tried to get closer to the left torse.

"Graaaaa!!!!!!!!"

*Swish*

Running in circles, the monster tried to shake them away. However, their tight grip on its fur made it hard to do so.

"Now!" She said and jumped in the air.

*Crackle* *Bang*

"Ok."

*Bang*

At the same time, with perfect sync, they punched the Uruv's left side.

"Graaaaa!!!!"

The monster was sent flying and smashed head-first into the ground. The hit seemed to work as when Reo checked its health bar to see how close they were to killing it…
