The first goblin to pop out of the basin didn't see it coming. Shandock grabbed him by the neck and with no effort at all, snapped it. The goblin was not even given the chance to struggle before dying.
More started to run out, ignorant of their surroundings. All they wanted to do was to escape the rampaging fire.
"Attack!!", Shandock screamed riling the Marshals up. Even Xavier felt his blood boil. He had been watching carefully all this while.
The goblin were horrified as they were descended upon. The Marshals found it mentally easy to slaughter them as they were not humans. Even the ladies were not left out.
Magic spells descended on the petrified creatures. They were too surprised and confused to fight back.
Xavier drew his sword out of the chest of a goblin. He had leveled up thrice now and his sword proficiency had gone up by another level. He saw Jace easily decapitate one and without pausing, stab another. He was so skillful, it made Xavier wonder if it was his cowardly bestfriend he had known all his life.
"Watch out!!", a scream rang out followed by an explosion which threw Xavier off his feet. He lost some health point but not enough to endanger him.
It was actually Guila that had caused the explosion. As Xavier was busy watching Jace, a goblin had sneaked up on him but Guila had seen it and tried to inform him.
She had accidentally shot a fireball which had left her surprised and increased her fire proficiency at the same time.
Xavier was about to query her but as soon as he saw the burnt body of the goblin, he thanked her instead. The fight was too one-sided. They slaughtered all mercilessly.
They had just finished when a growl rung out from the burning lair.
"That should be the leader", Shandock smirked.
A creature climbed up the pit and stood face to face with them. Unlike the rest of the goblins, it was as tall as an adult man. His skin was a faint green and it had bulging muscles which could be seen through its thin dress. It's eyes were yellow and it sparkled with rage as it looked at the corpses of it's race.
Xavier knew what the creature was, the book he downloaded had information on it. It was an hobgoblin. They were evolved goblins and were most times the leader of a goblin lair.
"I, Montoro will slay you all today!", he growled.
"Ohh... He is level 12 now, that is two levels above what the info said. He must have leveled up quite recently", Shandock chuckled.
"Kids, It will be unfair for all you to gang up on him. So how about five of you go.", Shandock said with a smile.
Some of the Marshals were intimidated and decided to stay back but Jace was the first to move.
"Flash step..."his body flickered becoming lightening itself before showing up distance away from Montoro.
"Oh he has made a skill from lightening. This Jace keeps impressing me", Shandock grinned from ear to ear.
Maroon and Guila also joined stretching their palm forward and shooting fireballs. Drake scoffed before stomping his foot on the ground. Small masses of the earth rose and with a clap he sent all of them at fast speed towards the hobgoblin.
"Earth bullet!", he screamed.
Xavier didn't want to be left out, although he didn't have any magic skill, he had leveled up and his physical enhancement had increased. He pushed his feet against the ground and ran like the wind with his sword in his hand.
Montoro's eyes widened as all the attacks came at once. He had looked down on the low leveled Marshals before but now he could tell they were not pushovers. Jace got to him first, Montaro swung an arm but he was too slow. Jace jumped into the air and slashed at the Hobgoblin. A long red gash appeared on his left shoulder leading to him losing a significant amount of Hp.
He screamed in agony but was shut up as two fireballs hit him square in the chest. He could not even react to the pain as small masses of earth pierced him, adding to his predicament.
He fell to his knees, his breath ragged as he tried so hard to endure the pain and fight back but it was of no use as a sword pierced his neck, ending the combo.
Xavier pushed the sword deeper and twisted it before pulling it back out letting Montoro's body fall to the floor.
"You have leveled up!..

Several notifications screen kept popping up in front of Xavier. He willed for his profile status to show and it did.

Title (s): Goblin hater (5% increase in attack if the target is a goblin)
Remark: One of the Marshals. Among the very best.
Xavier didn't know what to say. He was happy the remark had changed into something positive but his luck had not changed. He didn't know how to feel about his other stats. He remembered that book said stats were distributed uniquely to a person.
Some with each level up grew in strength and some in speed, some grew more in intelligence and had great amount of mana. Now this was Xavier's issue. He had more intelligence than other stats but still had very low mana points. He couldn't bring his head around it. He decided to treat it later as now it was time to loot.
Shandock ordered for them to loot all the bodies after showing them how to do it. Although Xavier already knew how to, he still listened.
After looting all the goblins' corpses, Xavier gained 2 silver and 50 copper coins, an Iron sword, a poisoned dagger and a skill book.
He was quite pleased, he instantly switched his F- ranked metal sword with the D- ranked iron sword he just got. He put the rest in his inventory but still held unto the coins. He just had ten slots in his inventory for now but for every increase in his level by ten, his slots increases by 10.
"Let's head back now, the fire did a great job and even burnt all the valuables these guys had stolen", Shandock said.
He had looted the hobgoblin and left to check out their lair but had found nothing but only ashes.
"Sir, do we spend these coins?", Xavier decided to ask the captain.
"Yes actually, the system's currency is the only recognized currency in Ozion.", Shandock nodded.
Xavier placed the coins in his inventory satisfied and with that they left the cave.
"Come closer", Shandock ordered the group. He then brought a brown sealed scroll and unsealed. After seeing everybody was close enough, he tore it and they disappeared.
Two figures could be seen on a hill from afar. They had masks and hoods and were dressed like ninjas.
"Marshals? Those kids are cross-worlders?", the first man's tone showed he was both shocked and surprised.
"We need to tell our lord....", With that they both vanished into thin air.
