How many people have we seen die in front of us in the other world?

Being called to some other place against our will, being labeled heroes, all of it was terrible.

The person who trained us in the beginning died protecting us against monsters. I had never seen monsters that could brush off bullets back then, so it was quite shocking.

It had chowed down on that man and his entire unit as if biting through marshmallows.

That was just the beginning. People we came to know kept popping off one after another.

Just because I wanted to go back home didn't mean I wanted to leave that place to the demon lord.

But after seeing it once, twice, ten, a hundred times. I had learned to stay away.

Don't get close to people. Keep a distance from them. Handle most problems by myself.

Whether it was the lich and the demon lord in Kanakia or the hundreds of other encounters. I tried them all alone. Growing stronger, inch by inch.
