Awoke

Chapter 1 - Awoke

Written By Curiostyx

"Ugh... What the hell happened?" I questioned as my eyes opened to the surroundings,

"You are currently suffering from a 'Hangover', Young Master" A Robot with a butler outfit answered.

"Wha?" My head was spinning, my limbs were numb, and I was sweating like crazy, Mommy spaghetti!

"It is recommended that you intake some refreshing water to clear the mind, Young Master," The Robot said as it handed me a glass of clear water.

"Huh? What? Uhh... Sure" I said as I took the water from the Robot's hand and started drinking it.

The water... It felt... Wrong

The dizziness increased as I desperately clutched my head... PAIN

PAIN

PAIN

PAIN

PAIN

I collapsed on the bed as I grabbed my head whilst screaming in agony.

"Physical Scans suggest that nothing is wrong with your head, Master... Perhaps you are suffering from some kind of mental illness... But your brain is perfectly fine... Master, hold yourself, I shall call upon an Expert" The Robot Butler said as its screen-cum-face started showing a loading spiral.

"No, No! I'm- *Cough* completely fine!" I said distraught, I did want any doctors checking me out... not after...

"Are you sure? I'm not allowed to operate without Master's consent, it is heavily recommended that I call a doctor, but if Master refuses then I have no other options but to obey" The Robutler said.

"Yes, Yes! You tin-can! Don't call anyone here... Just let me lay down for a... second" I said before collapsing yet again.

"Ugh, FUCK!" It was painful, really painful, really really fucking painful.

"Master it is truly recommended that I-"

"No! Just shut the fuck up!" I shouted.

The Pain, it was... Pain

I couldn't-PAIN

pAiN

Just PaIn

I-I P̵̜̲͇̖̣̟̮̪̀͒́̓̓̈́̅͝À̵̲̺̭̜̩͉͖̣̳̒̈́̂̐̓́̆͊͆̃̄̕͝ͅI̸̡̛̟̼͔̞͆̋̊̑̀͝͝N̵̡̯̥̉̃̇̽͘ͅ

Huh... My Name is... PAIN

Alexander Newton- No, Alexander Wayne that's... that's who I am

Wait... Newton? But that's my name... No, Wayne is my name...

I-I...

Something's wrong... I have... 2 memories?

Alexander Newton... Alexander Morey Wayne... These people... they are both me?

I remember... Dying? in some lab I think... A Temporal Position Transference experiment that went horribly wrong... A Rouge AI that could manipulate reality with mathematical equations... Metatron... Did it send me here?

And my second set of memories... Alexander Morey Wayne, Heir to the Wayne Industries corporation. But from his-No, my memories, I could conclude that Wayne and Newton lived in separate time periods.

Alexander Newton died in 2029.

Alexander Morey Wayne...

"What year is it...?" I asked the Robot Butler

"It is the 12th of September 2126, Young Master" The Butler responded with a precise date.

"Huh..." A rather huge leap in time if I say so myself.

"Can you get me some coffee to wake me up?" I requested.

"It shall be so, Young Master" The Robot stated before shortly leaving the room.

I didn't actually want any coffee, I just wanted the Robot to leave the room so I could start acting strange... Memory acquisition took quite a toll on the mind, I would know.

Now, Is the time to think... First of all, what the fuck happened?

Quantum Math is the answer.

Turns out everything and everyone were made of an infinite pattern of numbers. Bob was made of numbers, your Dog was made of numbers, and Joe Mama was made of slightly wider numbers.

Time was just a huge endless code of numbers.

The square root of Space-Time was Imaginary. The source code of the universe was fucking Space Stuff.

The equation of future time travel was Space Stuff divided by an endless series of 69s. But that equation turned out to be faulty as it only sent my soul to the future without the rest of me.

And it was impossible to go back now. Metatron couldn't handle all of those Quantum Calculations. In the end, it somehow sent my body to the past instead of the future. Without a soul to inhibit it, a body is just an empty vessel that won't live for long.

"But why the hell didn't I die?" I muttered to myself, a Soul with a body to inhibit will quickly be broken down into Space Stuff matter if they don't find a host.

The problem was that it was simply impossible to inhabit a body that already had a Soul inside of it, inhibiting corpses wouldn't have worked as well, as a dead vessel will kill the Soul.

So the only candidates for inhabitation were those bodies that had their Souls forcibly expunged from the vessel without the physical form dying, which was simply impossible if you didn't have a Reality Manipulating machine as I had, and the correct Quantum Equation to support it.

But from his second set of memories... Wayne never had any such devices, nor did he have any idea of what the Imaginary Numbers even were.

Something fishy must have happened...

Regardless, I didn't have any time to waste so I quickly got done assimilating my memories.

After doing so, I managed to conclude that I indeed wasn't Newton nor was I Wayne-Nay, I was both. Somehow, Someway, Both the souls of Alexander Newton and Alexander Wayne had merged and become a singular conscience; Me

I was quite baffled by this event, it should be completely impossible yet here I stand as a living combination of two separate individuals.

Fortunately, both of my predecessors' personalities were greatly alike so the amount of mental adaptation I had to accomplish was rather minimal.

The Door opened as the Robot Butler had returned, holding a tray with a cup of good old coffee on it.

"Here is the beverage that you requested, Master," The Robot said as it approached me with the tray.

"Thank you, Rob," I said as I took hold of the hot beverage and started sipping it aggressively.

"Master, Your mother has returned" Rob announced.

"Oh, really?" My Mother... I remember her... Victoria Morey, a famous pop star that had retired just 4 years earlier, married my father whilst in the prime of her career.

"Yes, she requests your presence in the living room, Master" Rob stated.

"Hmm... Tell her I'll be there in a bit" I said as I got out of bed and made my way to the bathroom.

The Robot nodded with his non-existent neck and left the room.

"You look breathtaking now" I complimented the man that had appeared on the first thing I saw when I entered the bathroom; The Mirror.

A sharp jawline with a Frost Queen-melting smile, teeth as white as marble, natural emerald-colored Hunter Eyes, and medium-length wavy black hair. The only I lacked to look like a model was the V-Taper aesthetic body.

A sharp contrast to my previous life's appearance, which should not be discussed so as to not commit a heinous crime against human eyes.

Now, I need to assess the situation... How did I get hungover?

Ah yes, yesterday was my 21st birthday and me and the boys decided to get absolutely shit-faced last night.

Luckily, Both of my parents were absent at the time.

"Looking good, bud," I said proudly as I brushed my almost perfect teeth.

Suddenly my face showed a relieved expression.

"Thank God I'm one of the rich..." I could feel the memories coming inside of me, of the Outside.

Not outside of the house-No, Outside of the Arcology.

Earth was but a former shell of the beautiful blue planet that it used to be.

The seas and the rivers were heavily polluted, turning murky. The sky now rains actual acid. The sky itself was now covered by a black smog, with the sun only making occasional cameos.

This combination of polluted water and lack of sunlight resulted in a beautifully orchestrated chain of events that resulted in the earth becoming a primordial wasteland of filth and death.

First of all, all of the plants that had relied upon those sources eventually withered out, leaving the blue planet without any green.

After which, most of the various animals that had relied on those plants to survive had to face global starvation as they eventually died out as well.

And of course, most of the animals that ate and relied on other animals to survive also went extinct.

Now the only naturally grown greenery you could find were in the Arcologies.

What are Arcologies? Well, to explain that I first need to go over the current state of the government.

Which is non-existent.

The political spectrum of the world was now ruled by huge conglomerates, corporations that controlled every aspect of their citizen's life in accordance with 'what is profitable'.

When the world became shit, everyone looked for a scapegoat, someone that they could blame easily for the despoiling of Earth.

Who better to blame than the politicians?

As a result, a huge revolution occurred where every politician and everything else that was called 'Government' got promptly excommunicated.

After the coup d'etat, a considerable power vacuum was left and the only thing that could actually rival the previous government; The Mega-Corporations, took the seat of power, becoming the absolute ruler of the world in every aspect of the word.

Ironically, The ones who caused the world pollution in the first place were these so-called conglomerates as they were the biggest source of pollution.

When it was clear that Earth was going into shit, those people of the Corporations started the construction of the so-called Arcologies, Huge 'Environmentally Friendly' Mega-Cities built inside an absolutely massive dome.

Life inside and outside of the Arcologies was drastically different.

Life outside was like living in some toxic cyberpunk wasteland, whilst Life inside was like living in a typical city, a typical futuristic city that is.

"I'm starting to regret this Time-Travel thing..." I honestly had optimistic hope for the future, but it turned out like this... He would have rathered traveled back in time to the middle-ages.

"Luckily, I'm a rich young master" I would have to suffer from hell and back if he actually wanted to succeed without a good familial backing in this time period.

"Well, time to meet my mother..." I said as I left the bathroom.
