An Unexpected, Unacceptable Gift
As a curtain of silence hung over their booth, they were able to hear the soft whir of wheels coming toward the table.
All three of them waited for the robotic waiter to pull up and deliver their first round of drinks.
"Hm?" Despite the heavy air around them, Aegri couldn't contain her shock when she pulled out a huge, glittering bottle of booze from the robot's inner trays. "Who ordered this?!"
Both Baloo and LaRee shook their heads.
Immediately, Aegri pointed at the empty seat, saying, "I know that cheapskate didn't order this. And there's no way I would've ordered this either. Are you guys sure you didn't select it on accident?"
While the two men shook their heads, the robot waiter spoke up through a monotone voice. "The bottle of Gujo di Vida was purchased by a fellow guest, located across the aisle four booths down. It is a gift, carrying a note on the bottom."
