A look of dejection filled Hector's expression as he stared into the distance, his mind swirling with thoughts of vengeance. Initially, he had agreed to help Brendan collect herbs because he wanted to avenge his fellow villagers. But seeing how things had turned out, he couldn't shake the feeling that there was no hope left for revenge.
"Hector," Jacob said gently, noticing the turmoil in his friend's eyes. He placed a reassuring hand on Hector's shoulder. "Don't worry. As long as I'm still alive, I'll wipe out Madrock Village one day. When that day comes, I'll be sure to bring you along with me."
Hector looked up, his eyes reflecting a mixture of gratitude and determination. "You really think so?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
"I know so," Jacob replied firmly. "You've got to believe in that, Hector. We'll make them pay for what they've done."
