Episode 1 - End Of The World (1)

Present - Year 2043, August 8, 8:00 pm

Seaside Town, Spinner Island.

House of Xolo's

From the outside, the house looks very beautiful. It is built with lumber wood and the walls are designed by stone veneer siding panels. The front of the living room has pure white walls while the sides walls are multicolored. Also, the roof has blue colored slate shingles consisting of stick framing.

It has two floors, a basement, a porch and a huge front yard. First floor consist of a living room, kitchen, training room and a soundproof meditation room. The second floor consists of three bedrooms and one guestroom.

The front yard is like a small garden space and each room has a normal sized windows on the sides of the walls except for the training room and meditation room which is on the back side of the house. The entire roof of these rooms is covered by transparent windows for a greater view while training and meditating. Hence, the house is a masterpiece in it's own way.

[2nd Floor, Xolo Mansion]

The bedroom at the right corner of the corridor was Ken's room, the only son Bernard and Fredrika has. Two adult figures who were in their thirties were sitting on the bed while a cute seven year old boy was rummaging through the desk looking for something.

Sitting on the right side of the bed, there was Fredrika, a fair skinned female with light purple eyes and silver hair holding the left hand of Bernard, who's a light skinned male with dark brown eyes and a pitch black hair who was sitting at the left side of the bed. The couple were smiling towards their son adorably.

After searching through all the drawers, Ken finally found the book he was looking for. The book cover was in black color with a dark blue border frame. At the center, 'a silhouette of a hooded man putting both of his hands on a white glowing crystal ball' was drawn. Below the drawing, the title 'New Era Of Mages : The Revolutionary Age' was written in castellar font. At the bottom-right corner, 'book by William Anderson' was printed in grey color.

Holding the book in his hands with a happy expression, Ken turned around and started walking towards his parents. He then landed on his bed with the book in his right hand and crawled towards them. He sat between them leaning on the cushion placed on the bed. After settling down, he looked towards Fredrika with a smile and placed the book on the cushion of her lap. Then, he pointed out to the book and said, "Mom, tonight, I want to hear about the revolutionary age."

After hearing that, both husband and wife looked at each other in unison with a delightful expression on their face. Looking at his cute smile, she pulled his right cheeks gently and said, "Honey, didn't we just read it yesterday! Why do you want to read it again?"

Then, he grinned looking at her, "Well, that's because it's the best story I've heard so far! Now, it became my favorite story. So, I want to read it as many times as possible." Fredrika then twitched her eyebrows after hearing that. Ken then turned around to look at Bernard with a puppy face. "Dad, please convince mom to read for me once again. Please...pretty please!" Bernard then stroke his son's head gently with a smile. "Sweetheart, if he insists that much, then let him hear the story one more time, alright?" She looked at her husband for a sec who was buttering her with eye contact signals. Then, she sighed looking at Ken "Fine, then. I'll read it for you one last time, okay?"

Upon hearing that, Ken was overjoyed and hugged his parents. "Yes!!"

"Mom! Dad! You're the best!"

"Okay, let's start!" Fredrika opened the book and flipped to the first chapter.

CHAPTER ONE -

D-day When Everything Changed

It was Year 2023 when everything in this world changed and humankind underwent into an evolutionary transformation. After the virus outbreak in the year 2020, this incident also caused as much damage as the casualties recorded in the year 2020. On 6th January, 2023, at 8:00 pm (IST), magic circles started appearing everywhere in the sky. Each circle had a different color. However, these circles were motionless like a broken clock needle. The light they were emitting was so bright that the whole place was illuminating different shades of colors on the ground. The scene was so enticing that those who witnessed it were looking at it in awe and surprise. In addition, not only it was happening in one country, the whole world was witnessing the same thing everywhere. News channels were giving live reports about this mystical incident all over the world. The National Government and UNICEF, had also called up all board members for an emergency video-call meeting. Fighter jets and military helicopters were flying above these circles for a closer inspection. However, media didn't get any access for an aerial view on these things for their own safety. The entire world was looking for answers about this phenomena. Though, none found any plausible cause up until so far.

India Today -

We're coming across with the visuals of magic circles surrounding the sky. Indian Space Research Organization claims that they have no explanation to this supernatural phenomena happening everywhere in the country. They're still in the middle of finding out it's cause and the source where it came from. On the other hand...."

"Good Evening, it's Emma Fernandes from ABC News. It's 11:02 pm (IST), Friday, January 6, I'm live in front of the city hall at Los Angeles. As you are aware, the whole sky is covered with these magic circles. No explanation is given from the DRSO (Defense Research & Space Organization) or SROC (Space Research Organization Centre). And It's been three hours since they appeared in the sky. However, there's still no movement shown whatsoever with these magic circles...."

Russia Today News (RTN) -

As the scene was unfolding before everyone's eyes, clear instructions were given to every civilians to stay inside their homes and wait for further instructions. Neither the world government nor the national government had preventive measures for such a large scale world crisis. So, the only thing they could do is to calm the masses and preventing any casualties to happen...if there's a riot to take place. Homeless people were evacuated to the unused government warehouses for shelter.

As the entire world was in an uproar and panic, exactly at 12:00 am (IST), January 7th, 2023, the magic circles started rotating in a clockwise direction, with a slow pace. The entire world was watching this phenomena live on T.V.

Some were scared, some were excited, some were curious and some were expressionless. On the other hand, the air defense army gave orders to pull back their fighter jets & helicopters from the vicinity due to the abnormal activity. The measures were just for a precaution if anything happens near it i.e. explosion.

Moreover, their rotation speed was gradually increasing minute by minute until it reached a maximum speed. Then, a black colored portal appeared before every individual in the world regardless of where they were. At home, office, street, hotel, shop, school, university, laboratory, and even at festivals, these things appeared. Two things came out from the portal and they came floating into their hands. One was a white colored bracelet and other were a pair of blue colored earphones. Among the masses, some of them dropped it out of fear and some were frozen on the spot. Following that, two tentacle-like hands came out of these things. The bracelet was trying to attach to the left hand of the human body while these pair of earphones were attaching itself towards the ears. The sight of these non-living objects moving made everyone startled and some started getting away from these things. However, it was a futile attempt, because these things caught up to them quickly. Thus, the procedure of these things attaching itself to it's host was a success. After the process completion, these things became invisible like it got absorbed within the human body. Then, a screen popped out of nowhere and a robotic male voice was ringing into everyone's ears in different languages depending on the locality.

After the last notification was made on the screen, every magic circle disappeared from the sky. This incident which we thought as a disaster was actually a spell to turn every human on earth into a mage. Every human started manifesting magical abilities within them. With the spell bestowing magic powers to everyone, it also gave us the "System" which is helpful in many ways. Due to the earphones every human was wearing, one can understand every human language on earth whether it is ancient greek, sanskrit or any local language in the country. The bracelet can be used as a communication device, inventory and much more. It also sends signals to the brain for turning our eyes into an image recognition device. Due to that, one can identify and read every thing in their sight whether it is an unknown flower or an unknown words (language). As a result, even an illiterate can read books now. The system also had magic crystals in the four-dimensional inventory which system operates. Every human had magic crystals based on their magic capabilities and compatibility to the mana core. Every newborn mage was different in status since each human's compatibility was different. There were powerful mages and weak mages on earth now. Thus, the current hierarchy is based on magic potential and how many magic crystals you possess since these ores can also be used to increase your magic strength.

However, those were not the only changes take place on earth. The once separated continents reconnected and the ancient supercontinent 'Pangea' was revived. Due to that, the distance between countries in different continents narrowed down a lot too. Transportation through road to any country was possible now. After Antarctica reconnected with other continents, the climatic change of nearby countries changed drastically i.e. South America, South Africa and even Australia. However, no activity like earthquakes, volcano eruption, tsunami was detected during this incident. It was like the whole continent was teleported near other continents instantly without making even a sound or movement. Only the readings of geographical changes on earth were recorded through satellites during the crisis. However, because of these things enveloping the whole earth, the satellite signals couldn't reached any space centers on earth, not even NASA. Only the six astronauts who were on-board the international space station were aware about this unbelievable phenomena.

Along with the continents, unknown territories acting as a bridge between continents appeared. Each one was unique in it's own way. When the first expedition team was dispatched to learn about these lands, they found out that it was inhabited by otherworldly creatures like goblins, ogres, orcs, banshee, vampires, werewolves, zombie, hydra (try google for description), chimeras (google again), Yeti, Giants, Dragons, Unicorns, Basilisk (google again), Pheonix, Griffin, etc.

These territories are divided into four levels with level one being the weakest monsters foothold and level four being the strongest monster's foothold -

level 1 : Normal Type Monsters

level 2 : Elemental Type Monsters (fire, water, ice)

Level 3 : Spirit Type Monsters (body possession, mind control, telekinesis)

Level 4 : Mythical Type Monsters (monsters from myth)

After the mage transformation process was over, the system added a worldwide leaderboard in the end. It shows every humans living on earth and their rankings according to the magic power and magic crystals they possess. Then, the system created a rule - "The Arkham Ordeal is place on the planetory system #12357 Earth. At the end of the every month, 1000 people at the bottom of the rankings will die an excruciating death. There are two ways to survive this ordeal. One, increase your rankings every month and avoid getting into the top 1000 bottom rankings. The other, you can find the ultimate treasure - 'The Singular - Arkham Origin' and end this ordeal once and for all." Those were the words spoke by system in a male robotic voice to everyone. Since rankings are based on magic power and the crystals, becoming powerful mage became the motto for everyone. Currently, every mage strive to become strong enough to survive the monthly quota. Crystals can be obtained by slaying monsters of the unknown territories. Killing strongest monsters will give you more crystals. Thus, the hunt for monsters and crystals began!!!

With that ending statement, Fredrika finished the first chapter of the book. She then flipped through the pages to read the next chapters. Ken was immersed into the story read by her. He was smiling at her in awe while listening to the story. By the time she finished reading the last chapter, Ken pouted. She put a blanket on him and Bernard & Fredrika gave a goodnight kiss to him. Afterwards, they went to their bedrooms.
