“You do know that she is not safe right?” Oliver’s question made both Selene and Clifford sad. They were looking at the baby like she was their daughter and the thought of losing her was ripping them from their happiness.

“She is safe till she is sixteen. Remember? And then For the week from her sixteenth birthday, the pendant will keep her safe.” I replied.

“But I am getting a weird feeling about this. If the incubus can not kill her till she is sixteen, then why would he come for her so soon?” questioned Oliver.

“I was coming to that. I have this theory that maybe he wants to keep the baby close to him till she is sixteen and then finish off the business on her sixteenth birthday. It would be easy for him to do that if he is very close to the girl. What other way than have her live with him.” I explained.

“These creatures are getting smarter,” Oliver stated.

“You bet,” I replied.
