Nolan sped into the parking area of the hospital, his tires screeching as he rushed to save time. He rushed out of the car and into the lobby, where a nurse was already waiting for him.
"Dr. Nolan, thank goodness you're here," she said, her face grim with urgency. "We have a patient who was just brought in with a life-threatening injury. They need immediate surgery."
Nolan didn't waste any time. "What's the situation?" he asked, his mind already racing with possibilities.
"Patient is a young woman, early twenties," the nurse replied, her voice quick and efficient. "She was in a car accident on the highway. She has severe injuries to her chest and abdomen. We've stabilized her as best we can, but she needs surgery ASAP."
Nolan nodded, his focus already on the task ahead. "Let's move," he barked, striding towards the operating room with the nurse close behind.
