Getting Familiar
What could she say? The palace was a bit ugly as she was taking a curious walk around it, Athena would briefly summarize the history of the palace to her it was about a hundred and fifty years old.
" I don't know , but who ever built this a century ago didn't like The king then very much " she joking said
" it might not look like much but this Palace is one of the wonders of Gyotre and it holds historic significance for the people of Gyotre " Athena told her
Freya wondered as she was looking around what her life would be like here in the palace, would it be similar to that of Bristol? or God would she need permission all the time before she gets to go out? God No!! they couldn't put those restraints on her but she then thought about the contract, her father and the people of Bristol how this seemingly selfless act of giving her self up could help her people back at home.
But the thought of Nana and dodo joining her later that day gave all the comfort she needed, her mind wandered to where he prince could be
" though it's not ideal, given! if your husband doesn't even sleep home the first night isn't that a huge problem? " she silently said out loud but just kept taking her walk around the castle.
It was evening time and there was still no sign of him, her side of the palace just like back when she was at home in Bristol she could see those who came through a window. She was a carriage arrive which was just about when she heard a knock on her door
" Athena your highness "
" you may come in Athena " Freya replied her
" Her Majesty the Queen has requested for your presence downstairs "
She thought it was strange but she followed Athena out towards the entrance of the palace the doors were wide open and the queen was standing there.
" Oh welcome dear, how was your walk earlier today "
Freya simply smiled back , she thought in her mind if it was customary to welcome the King every single time he came back Then that'll be really weird. She jokingly thought she couldn't massage anyone's ego like that, come to think of it she hadn't seen the king since she came back as well.
She faintly hoped to see The prince in The carriage but instead Nana and dodo stepped out, she had totally forgotten and was almost disappointed it wasn't the prince. Regardless she was still happy they were here , dodo as big as he was jumped into her arms.
" Freya, your primary maids would be Nanny and Athena, you try as much as possible to feel comfortable and at home "
" Thank you your Majesty " Freya replied her with the excitement of a child
She and Nana shortly after they left the Queens presence could barely keep their giggles in as they were on their way to Freya's quarters and dodo behind them curiously sniffing the surroundings. Shortly after they reached her room Athena announced she was going to show Nana her own place in the palace. Freya delighted in playing with dodo cheerfully.
It was raining later that night, heavily she always wondered if Gyotre was this cold and so not warm, The door opened and it was the crown prince, He didn't say anything he just walked in like he owned the place ( which he technically did ) he's had a change of clothes from the previous nights. She felt the urge to ask him where he was or if somethings had happened but she wasn't going to do that.
" Good evening, we'll be having dinner with The king this evening. we like to have dinner as a whole family every once in a while " He said blandly
" I noticed you had a pet , good. they're pretty and all that but I don't want dog poop on my things "
This infuriated her but as a sharp mouthed girl herself she decided to play along.
" oh I'll make sure to tell dodo that he doesn't want your shi-- oh sorry shit on his shirts " she replied him wittingly
He groaned a bit, " Dinner is in ten minutes, you should get ready "
They both headed to the Kings quarters and the walk over there was a confusing one , They both didn't know whether they should have held each other or put on a display that suggested they were couples.
They arrived at he Kings quarters and everyone was already seated there , the King , Her Majesty the Queen and their daughter Haz's sister who couldn't been any older that Freya's younger sister Frigg back at home
Back in Bristol she would wait and expected to be announced or something but here, they see you approaching the door is simply opened by a royal guard or a maid depending on the situation or who's at the door although she had barely used 48 hours there it still felt deeply unnatural.
The young princess which she didn't know her name yet because she had been caught up in her own world she didn't realize everything else in this other world she's now going to be a part of. She seemed like to be a very timid young lady primarily because she didn't boast of the type of Aura her Majesty the Queen possessed but one thing was very sure Freya was very interested in Her
" Good evening Father, Forgive our tardiness " The prince announced
Freya though silently to herself " This how they all speak so formally to each other here? " but she convinced herself to get rid of that thought. Starting by making fun of them wouldn't be an ideal way to start the journey with this family. She thought about it again " FAMILY " to really let the word sink in, she's part of another family now.
" Nonsense My child , take a seat my children " The king said generously with jest. it seemed really casual maybe The prince was actually the only uptight person here.
