Chapter 2 (FINAL)

After ten months, Cynthia and I have gotten much closer. She and my friends are at my house, watching a movie.

"William, I'm going to the washroom for awhile. Can you pause the movie for a few minutes?"

I smile at her. "Yes, of course."

While she is absent, my friend, Gregory Him, asks, "What do you think about her? I like her."

"I like her too," I answer.

"I didn't know you're so in love with her. You only wanted to know her. That's why you decided date her, didn't you?" says Brian Pan.

"Is it true?" I hear Cynthia's voice coming from behind.

I turn to look at her, the others following.

She's crying.

"It's not like that, Cynthia." I say, standing up from the couch.

She grabs her bag from the couch and run out of the house. I run after her.

"Where are you going?" I ask.

"Away from you!" she hisses. "What was that about? I thought you liked me, that's why you asked me out?" she cries.

"I do now, okay?" I say, putting emphasis on the word, 'okay'. "Isn't that enough?"

"No, it's not! I had a good relationship with Jonathan and you ruined it!"

"It's been ten months that we've gotten together and you're still mentioning this?" I look at her incredulously.

"I'm hurt!"

"And you don't think I'm hurt too? You're still in love with him?"

"No, that's not it. I'm just hurt by you."

I walk up to her. "I'm sorry, okay?" I reach my arms out to her to embrace her.

She accepts it and cries hard on my chest.

"Don't worry. I love you," I mutter and kiss her forehead.

"I love you too."
