Chapter 111 Cold Outside 

　　Carina's POV -

　　Maxwell was circling the milk-chocolate when I interrupted, "Maxwell, there's an emergency. I'm leaving right away."

　　He stopped moulding and stood up. "What's the emergency?"

　　"My dad called in sick from the hospital." I responded.

　　"He stays at Pennsylvania, right?"

　　I nodded. "You want to take me there?"

　　"I can't let you drive alone in the middle of the night." He said.

　　"Fair enough."

　　Maxwell washed his hands and then we hit the parking lot. The sky started pouring down rain as soon as he hit the road. He maneuvered through the traffic, the skin around his knuckles tightened as he gripped the steering wheel.

　　"Don't worry. He's a strong man. I'm sure he'll be fine." He kept his eyes on the road while he spoke, but the way my skin prickled and each hair stood on end, he might as well have stared straight at me.

　　"Is it okay if we listen to the radio?"

　　"Yeah, sure."
