1.21 Magic Tutor (1)

Blake sat in the middle of the training hall made specifically for him. With his legs crossed and his hands on his lap, he looked somewhat intimidating. If it weren't for his childish appearance, he would look menacing. His crystal dice sat perfectly next to him, a faint blue-ish smoke enveloping it.

Blake shot his eyes open, grabbing his crystal dice, he threw them on the ground in front of him. The two dice tumbled on the hard ground before both of them stopped with the same number shown at the top. Both, on number 1.

The blue-ish fog surrounding the dice floated into the air and began to compress, forming a bubble made from water the size of a soccer ball. Blake held up one of his hands, imagining a fish forming from the water. As he opened his eyes, there, a fish made from water floated in front of him, swimming freely in the air.

"I knew you had talent, but never this much talent,"

Blake shot his head to the direction in which the voice came from and saw a man with light grey-ish hair and mint coloured eyes, glowing dangerously. He wore a uniform in which Blake had never seen before.

The man wore a light grey-ish button down and a back jacket. His tie was a dark shade of blue. He had his arms to his back as he walked towards Blake curiously.

"Who are you? And what are you doing here?" Blake asked, his eyes watching the unknown man warily.

"I am Evan Layland. A student at the Silver Edgewater academy. It is nice to finally see you, heir of the Acker duchy, Blake Acker," the man named Evan did a small curtsey, bowing his head low.

"A pleasure," Blake nodded, picking up his die from the ground and turned around, not wanting to continue the conversation with this Evan person.

"Young heir, would you be interested in entertaining me and doing another spell?" Evan said, leaning down and tilting his head.

"Nope, go entertain yourself," Blake said, picking up his coat flung it over his shoulder.

"Oh, how cold," Evan winced dramatically, holding his chest in pain.

Blake brushed off Evan's presence before he walked out of his training hall with Evan trailing behind. Blake continued to mind his own business as he walked to his room, greeting and smiling at the workers he passes by. During the walk, Evan walked closely behind Blake, watching his movements.

"Stop being a creep and go meet my father at his office," Blake said, opening the door to his room and giving Evan a final glance.

"Aw~ I had fun tailing you though," Evan pouted, placing his hands on the back of his head as he stared at Blake.

Their eyes were locked in an intense and silent war as Blake stared with a nonchalant gaze. Evan was baffled, Blake seemed aloof with that expressionless face of his, however infront of the workers and staff in the manor, he looked kind.

'How many sides do you have?' Evan thought as he looked at Blake as if the smaller on was yet another toy for him to use.

"Now, if you would excuse me, I will be in my room, not opening the door for you," Blake smiled, his smile not reaching his eyes.

A small amused chuckle escaped evan as he nodded and bowed before bidding his goodbye.

Blake closed the door as soon as Evan finished bidding his goodbye. With his back to the door, he locked it before running over to his bed and leaping onto it, laying down with a content smile on his face.

Blake: my bed really is the best place in the world.

"I take it as you've met your new magic tutor?" the duke asked, slicing a piece of meat and placing it in his mouth.

"I have," Blake sighed, nodding.

"He may be a little young, but he is one of the best students at the academy currently. The headmaster had already reserved a spot for him as a professor once he graduates," the duke said with a nod.

"Being young isn't the problem, father. He's creepy," Blake said, taking a sip of the juice infront of him.

"Oh? What do you mean, Blake?" The duchess asked, arching one of her eyebrows and tilting her head to the side.

Blake relayed what had happened previously with Evan, not leaving a single thing out. When he had finished, he saw the duchess's eyes flicker in concern before she turned to the duke.

"I see, I heard he does have a strange fixation in prying into someone's mind for fun," the duke mumbled his breath.

"Why are we assigning someone like that to my brother as his magic tutor?" Flora spoke up, tilting her head to the side in confusion.

"Well, he does have talent in magic, and I figured that if Blake was taught by someone who was close to him in age, he would be more comfotable," the duke said, a slight pot was visible as he stared at his dinner, looking somewhat dejected.

"I'll see how he does. I'll tell you if I don't like him, father," Blake said.

Almost immediately, the duke brightened up, looking as if he as a puppy seeing his owner after a long day. Blake had to suppress a smile from appearing on his face as he looked down at his food and shoved a piece of bread into his mouth.
