Kuzan slouched on his chair as he held up a piece of paper. He read the contents of the paper, carefully examining each word. It informed about a secret deal of artificial human creation—one between Germa, Vagapunk, Doflamingo and a last unknown party. Kuzan realised the main feature of the paper was its talk about what the unknown party was going to use the subjects for—and speculation that Roche, a pirate within a subordinate crew of his, was genetically mutated.

There was no obvious, so Doflamingo likely wouldn't face charges for this—especially considering the secrets he knows. The theories concluded, and Kuzan noted that many of them inferred from nothing. The final piece of information, though, made a particularly unsettling observation. 'It is believed that the current genetically modified humans are prototypes, imperfect and incomplete versions of the wanted invention'.

Kuzan put the paper down, eyeing the surroundings outside a nearby window from where the light seeped within.

"Damn scientists.."

The two marines stood side by side, their heads spinning as the gunfire continued. After a bloody struggle, they had just barely emerged victorious, and now they had to defend an entire island. 'I better be paid extra for this'.

"Koma, I can stop your bleeding for about 15 minutes." Vin said, sternly. "You reckon you can take them all out?"

The Rear Admiral grinned. "You can count on it, Vin-chan!" Vin touched the Rear Admiral's major wounds. He closed his eyes and saw the blood vessels. 'Mold'. He reached within and molded them back to normal, stopping the bleeding. While Koma was curious about the intricacies of his Devil Fruit, though he figured it'd be better to leave that for later.

Although his bleeding was stopped, his fatigue and other injuries remained. Although, this would certainly make it easier. Vin passed out in the clearing, the moonlight being the only thing to illuminate his body. The Rear Admiral stepped toward the town.

"Well! Let's begin!"

Vin awoke to the same surroundings, little difference in the environment. However, the marble building was far more wore down, its walls scraped and burnt. He got up and trudged toward the town, feeling a terrible pain in his head. 'I haven't fully recovered..'

In the centre of the market where all the narrow streets connected, Vin could make out Koma's silhouette. However, by him, was at least a few hundred men, all bloody and unconcious. The Rear Admiral seemed to be the only one still awake.

"Vin-chan!!!" He yelled as he turned back to Vin's location. As he tried to rush toward the boy, his body essentially stopped and he fell down toward the concrete floor. "Ow.."

"We need to go.." The boy stated, breathing heavily as he placed his hand on his face and exhaled loudly.

"One issue. The boat's destroyed." Koma replied in a non-chalant manner, as though he was aware of the situation but simply didn't mind it. More accurrately, a possible situation—though Vin was here.

"Okay, I'll mold it back in half an hour. Let's go."

As soon as they were on the ship, Vin proceeded to mold each broken piece of the ship individually, recreating the galleon it once was. It was certainly a tedious job—especially since Vin had to take numerous breaks as his energy faded away—but it had to be done.

As soon as the reconstruction was complete, Vin went to sleep again.

Vin awoke, now on the ship. He checked his surroundings and realised Koma had somehow sailed with an entire ship by himself. Impressive as it was, he was somewhat glad he had arrived back to safety. One thing was certain, though, he needed medical help. And quick.

"Wakey wakey, we need to get you to medical!" The Rear Admiral's face popped into a view as Vin squinted his eyes at the sun. He stood up and followed the marine to a medical room, where his wounds were treated.

"Try not to move too much," the nurse told him. He nodded and attempted to leave the room, but the door was swung open before he could do so.

"I told the higher-ups about the mission," Koma said. "They said this likely confirmed a theory of theirs. In which case, we probably made a Shichibukai, an unknown powerful party and Germa hostile towards this entire section—that's the worst case scenario, but it could just be toward us two."

Vin was a bit confused about what all the names meant, but shrugged it off. 'Surely something important'. "How would they know about it?" Vin inquired.

"Doflamingo has a lot of dirt on the government and marines," Koma replied. "Additonally, he's done and—after recent events—likely still doing evil shit."

"So the worst case scenario they send someone to kill us?" The boy continued.

"Uh, yeah. Probably. Not gonna be that easy though," the Rear Admiral followed. "If that Roche guy was an actual modified human—and we beat him—the parties involved are probably gonna have a hard time sending someone stronger. Of course, if they don't go themselves."

'Modified human??' The boy thought. He was out of the loop, it seemed, but kept his questions to himself.

"But wouldn't that insinuate that they don't have anyone stronger to send after us?" He asked.

"You're right, to some extent, I guess. There's nothing to say they don't have any more of those creatures lurking. The only reason I made the assumption they don't in the first place is because I reckon the process to creating them is difficult. However, we should be prepared for the scenario that they do send them after us," Koma stopped for a moment. "Seemed they were quite weak though, at least in the grand scheme of things. Taking one of them on in a fair 1 on 1 would be easy for me. The issue is you. They're completely out of your league right now."

"So you're insinuating I should get stronger?"

"Precisely." Koma answered. "Besides, all the higher ups of Navy H.Q has been notified. Though they don't seem to be taking any proper action, they'll keep a closer look on things. Killing us off won't be that easy—in their eyes, an attack on us would, I assume, be a strange investment. One you'd only go through with if you really held a grudge. So we're fine I think."

"We continue as though nothing happened, then?" Vin inquired.

"Yeah. We have a couple more missions."

"That being?"

"We're going after a guy called Trafalgar Law."
