Chapter 27: Never Betray You

Ruby's POV

My first to third weeks of college had went absolutely amazing. I love most of my classes, Fennie in my English class with me but thankfully I have not been stuck with Fennie constantly who had a senior boyfriend here. Yes, Fennie and I had become great friends since my first year but now she will enjoyed more of her days with Jasper.

On the fourth day of my third week after school, something happened that I didn't expect. I was having my little panic attack, I finally saw Marcus standing at the entrance, leaning back on the Mercedes sport. My other classmates were bewildered when they saw his incredibly handsome face and tall masculine figure.

'How the hell did he found out my college. What's he doing here? What am I going to do. Even my parents were not informed where I studied. Only Aunt Geneva knew, who promise to keep it secret. Should I call Lucas?' So I text him instead.

I decided to ignore Marcus as we've been long separated. But the worse scenario, I have to walk pass him at the entrance to get into my car. I cleared my throat a little before stepping forward slowly. He's been a pain in my heart. 'Should I have to talk to him?'

Then, I walked toward him. "What do you want?" He leaned against his car, crossing his arms. "Can I talk to you?"

"About what?" I replied. "I'm not sure if I even want to talk to you."

Fennie and Jasper were staring at me. They just walked out from our school, saw Marcus and me chatting. Furthermore, those students around were also staring at us like with curiosity in their eyes.

He's not the knight in shining armor that I've wanted anymore. This man that was standing infront of me used to be my world, my everything. But right now, he was like a stranger to me.

"Ruby, can you come back to me. I love you and I will never betray you, ever again." He said. "And how long are you going to keep running away from me?" He drawled in an icy tone. "You should already know that I don't give up that easily."

What kind of game was he playing at? "What." She snapped between tight lips. "You think that I'll still end up with you after your betrayal. Even after million times you're begged, I won't?"

He took a stepped forward and Ruby's hand fell to her side. Her head was level to his white silky shirt and she raised her head to meet his gaze. Him, being close made her feeling uneasy.

"Woah, I guess congratulations are in order." Marcus chipped causing the veins in Ruby's neck to jerk. In another four days, would be their engagement anniversary. He didn't purposely need to remind her about it. She had lived and relieved every last one of them without him and what with this sudden reminder. Is this making him feel insignificant.

Her mind flitted back to when they are together. Life with Marcus was blissful and she had been very happy, secure in his love for her. Right now, right this moment, there was nothing between them.. its still hurt just thinking about it, so why bother talking about something that you just want to forget?

He smiled down at her. "You are mine." He said coldly. "You can run all you like but I'm never letting go of something that belongs to me." Ruby's shoulders tensed. His? Like she was his property? In what world was he leaving in? It made her furious to think that he could just order her around like dog.

Her hands were now trembling. "I am not yours." She said angrily. "I belong to no one but myself. It was you who did this, I gave you my love, my heart... I gave you all of me but you chose to throw it away."

Fennie and the rest were still watching their commotions. She wanted to help but was stopped by Jasper. "Its lover fights. Let them settle themselves." Ruby didn't even realized that they had a big crowd, watching and whispering about them.

He still couldn't hide the fact that he was pissed off by her answers. "I'm here because I want to see how we can mend our relationships... Follow me!" He then grabbed my hand and dragged me to the passenger seat. "I love you!" He chuckled as he said.

"Why are you laughing?" Marcus asked. "Nothing." I told him. "Continue watching your acts." She snapped, knocking his hands aways from her bare skin. "You're a bastard! Stop trying to hide behind your mistakes. Marc.. not once but twice. I was trying to forgive you but why you... Don't think I never knew. If you can't keep it in your pants for one minute then that's your problem. Don't come hunting for me."

Her heart was racing and her palms damp as she fumed with anger. "Now can you get the hell out of here!" The one time she allowed herself to be vulnerable, she got ripped apart. Never again! Thinking of what she had been through with her life.

"There will NEVER be an us again!" She said once she got hold of her breath. Marcus brawled, stomping over to the driver seat. "I will be back." He said before driving away.
