Life in a dungeon

A dungeon although dangerous, was relatively safe if one were strong enough to deal with the monsters in the dungeon.

Being at the great human level, an F-rank dungeon was never going going to be a problem for the married couple who had ventured into such a situation in order to preserve the life and happiness of their beloved son.

The problem however was, if the Baron and his subordinates chose to clear the dungeon, the couple they had a very high chance of dying as following the clearance if a dungeon, the dungeon would collapse, destroying everything inside the Dungeon.

"What if they attempt to clear the dungeon. It wouldn't be a difficult hurdle for the Baron at all, he is a superhuman" Alex asked Maya who seemed a bit too calm for their current situation.

He was however ignored by his spouse.

'Argh women' he thought I'm frustration.

She surveyed the dungeon as her eyes turned bright blue with weird patterns inscribed in them.

This was an indication that she had activated her ability. The 'eyes of nature', an innate ability exclusive to only Maya that allowed her to see mana in it's raw and purest form.

When this ability is active, not a single shred of mana could escape her field of sight.

Even assassins who used the ability of stealth couldn't evade her senses, as stealth required mana in order to be activated. It was an ability that could be very deadly if. One could utilize it to it's full potential.

As powerful and useful as this ability was, Maya could not make use of it to it's fullest extent as she lacked the necessary mana reserves to do so.

The ability was quite taxing on her,as keeping it for even a minute nearly exhausted her entire mana.

Surveying the dungeon with her eyes, she smiled.

"Found it" she said and ran forward in a random direction, signalling Alex to keep up with her.

"That's a waterfall" Alex said with clear annoyance in his tone upon arriving at the place his wife had led him to.

"You are thirsty?" Alex asked

Maya was acting weird today and that gave him a huge uneasy feeling. They were trapped in a dungeon after all.

"Hehe" Zenel giggled as he woke up from his slumber. His blue eyes looking at the waterfall with a happy expression.

'Is he using Maya's ability' Alex thought. "No that's not possible" You have to be at least six years old in order to use an innate ability. With this in mind, he shrugged of all hopes of Zenel using an innate ability. As much of a monster Zenel was, using an innate ability two days after your birth was simply impossible, or so he thought.

And innate abilities also appear once in almost every generation.

Meanwhile, Maya simply gathered mana in her hand and drew a symbol on the waterfall.

"Maya , what the heck are you do-" Alex stopped talking. The waterfall parted as a huge cave filled with mana crystals revealed itself.

"This is something I realized on my own after going through a lot of dungeons. Every dungeon has something similar to this." Maya said in an exhausted tone, her ability was really straining to her.

Picking Zenel from Alex's embrace, she place him on one of the many mana crystals.

"Your turn now" Maya faced Alex who simply nodded with a knowing expression.

Placing both of his arms on the ground, he channelled his mana through the earth creating three flower beds using his ability to control earth.

He created chairs, and other basic household livelihood items.

After two hours of all this hardwork, Alex groaned in exhaustion.

Maya giggled seeing her husband in such a state.

"Hehehe" Zenel laughed as well replying to his mother's laugh.

"Have some rest, I'm going out for some hunting" Maya said as she stepped out of the cave, leaving the father and son duo in the dungeon.

"I'm so tired " Alex sighed. A small frown appeared on the cute baby's face. "Daddy is okay" Alex said with a small laugh looking at Zenel's expression. His laughing expression morphed into shock as a huge stream of mana left Zenel's body and entered his body.

He felt as if he had just had a breakthrough, his mana was recovered and any wound on his body had healed.

'This doesn't quite feel like mana' he said but quickly dismissed this thought as well.

"I can't wait for your growth" Alex tickled the belly of the sleeping Zenel.

Meanwhile,

"What do you mean you can't find their energy trace" A blue haired man said with a silent voice.

To others, it might seem like a normal conversation however, the baron, who was under the aura of the strongest human in the world, coughed out huge amounts of blood.

"Lord Kaverl, it seems they either found a way to erase their mana or they've been killed by a monster" The Baron said amidst coughs of blood as a result of the aura he was facing.

"What was the level of power of the two?" Kaverl asked lightly.

"They were at the great human level"

There's no way great human level humans will be killed in an F-rank dungeon. No matter what happens don't clear that dungeon." Kaverl said.

"I can feel they're alive" Kaverl smirked and withdrew his aura from the poor man.

I'll be checking in on this dungeon personally once every short while, make sure that you do your best to guarantee the child's survival. Kaverl stood up and prepared to leave.

"Oh and us punishment for your failure" Kaverl released a blue aura that rampaged the whole town destroying everything it came across, turning the entire city into a wasteland of lava.

Humans, animals, beasts, property nothing was spared from the blue aura of Kaverl who destroyed everything without a single change in his expression.

The once bustling city of Ambrosia was turned into a place even those with the coldest if hearts wouldn't be able to bear, all as a result of the aura of the "strongest" human.

The Baron who was protected from this situation by Kaverl himself shuddered in fear.

"You are no longer a Baron. You are the guardian of an F-rank dungeon, Morrison de Kanher" Kaverl said sarcastically.

"You will pay for this" The Baron, turned Guardian swore as he promised to make the small family pay for what had happened here.
