"Don't sulk. I swear I will go there as fast as I can." Lili patted Lei again, waiting for his flight.
"Why did you have to promise him to do it? He is a jerk!" Lei really sulked because Lili had accepted another order that would take a few days to finish.
"Well, I promised him I would make him something when he has a new girlfriend. I can't simply say no now when he apologized and actually begged me to make her a choker," she said and gave a peck on Lei's lips.
"You need to write to me every time you go somewhere, and when you come back. Otherwise, I would be really worried about you," Lei hugged her like a child and even though they called in his flight, he wasn't letting go.
"Yes, I promise. I'm going to be in Hong Kong soon… Prepare a room for me. Now, you go and take care of the team before they kill themselves again," she said and patted Lei's back, hoping he would let go. And he really did, reluctantly, but he let Lili go and grabbed his bag.
"I love you," he said and waited for the answer. Lili chuckled and gave him another peck on his cheek.
"I love you too, now you go…" It wasn't as if she did want him to go, but Dylan's calls were getting more frequent and that was only Zhu long. The calls from the gaming company were even more frequent.
Lei waved to her the last time before walking away. Lili laughed when she saw him look back twice and then finally disappear behind the corner.
Using the opportunity that Prague was a lot bigger than her hometown, Lili visited a haberdashery and almost fainted when she saw all those small parts she used, the fabrics and laces.
She had an idea of what should the choker look like, but she hadn't talked about the details with Adam, so having just a general idea and knowing what she could buy back in her town, she bought a few pieces of fabric, some Swarovski crystals and some things that she might have liked for herself.
Okay, she would admit it… While she was looking for inspiration on chokers, she found a particular harness that Lei would definitely like, so Lili was determined to make it and surprise Lei with it.
After that, she drove directly to Brno. It was the worst ride ever, but that was each ride on the highway to Brno, so waiting four hours in a traffic jam was nothing out of the ordinary.
Actually, Lili remembered that one time when she was like eight or so and she went to Pague with her father and they ended up waiting for ten hours just because a lot of snow had fallen that day. So compared to that, four hours wasn't that much.
But still. Lili arrived in Brno when it was already dark. Glad she was supposed to meet Adam in a public place, he found the cafe and waited there. Well, she was so hungry that she didn't wait for Adam and just ordered something light and ate.
Adam arrived late, he said, because he had unexpected surgery, but Lili didn't care. It was a nice excuse, but in all honesty, she was glad he came late.
"So what's your idea? And where is your girlfriend? I thought you wanted a custom-made one.." Lili looked around, confused.
"Yes, well, she has a birth to attend to, so she couldn't come. But if I may…" Adam took out a piece of fabric and showed it to Lili.
"May I show you?" he gestured towards her neck. Lili was a tiny bit uncomfortable, especially because the neck was her sensitive area. And Adam wasn't Lei. But she reluctantly nodded.
Adam draped the fabric around her neck and smiled. Nodding approvingly, he withdrew his hands.
"You can measure it with your neck. She had the same measurements as you have," he said and showed the mark on the fabric. It was a bit weird for Lili, but she nodded and took out her sketchbook.
Lili made several nodes, some drawing, discussing style, fabric, and closing. Just everything you could think of. When they finished, she looked at the paper and frowned.
"It will take me a few days… Like two or three. I will start tomorrow and I need to find or make the closing you want myself. I have the magnetic parts, but not the security lock. Should I send it to you when I'm done?" Adam shook his head and smiled at her.
"I want you to give it to Helena yourself. She is dying to meet you. And she promised that she is definitely going to be here the next time." Lili nodded, not getting where this was coming from, but she didn't want to offend Adam.
Her phone rang, and Lili excused herself and read it. It was actually two messages. One came before when she was in full swing of discussing the choker and that one was from Lucy.
The other was from Lei, asking if she was already home or still on her way. Lili chuckled when she read that one. It was really cute how worried he was about her, as if he wasn't the one flying in an iron bird who knows how high from the ground.
"Is that your fiancée?" Adam was watching her with a frown on his face.
"Where is he?" he asked. Lili answered Lei and then put the phone aside, paying attention to Adam once again. But she couldn't help it when she talked about Lei. Her face was totally shining, her eyes sparkling.
"He had to fly back to Hong Kong. The companies can't work without him. But I will follow him once I'm done with your order," she exclaimed, excited about the flight. She grabbed her phone once more and looked at the calendar, making notes about the choker. When she saw the date, Lili actually frowned. Something was amiss.
She excused herself from Adam once she confirmed the day of their next meeting, and then she looked at the calendar again.
That something that was wrong was her period. It was late. But because Lili was busy, she didn't even notice. Three weeks late…
On her way back, Lili bought two pregnancy tests and almost died waiting for the results. And almost died when she got them.
She was pregnant… on both tests…
