Chapter 18 Old House

Neil stopped behind the bushes in a hidden area, seeing few cars passing in front of him on the street.

'Although I have passed the first phase successfully, next I have to avoid the sight of everyone and spend the night in a secure place; also claim the bounty tomorrow morning before anything else happens.'

Neil thought to himself and then activated the Observer.

"Initiate the parallel command, find a secure place in order to stay anonymous, also find new clothes, eat and sleep, and spend the night."

Neil commanded, feeling extreme hunger and coldness spreading through his body; he wasn't aware of it before because of excitement and thrill.

After his excitement reduced, the side effects of antidotes and drugs started affecting his body.

[Initiating unlimited parallel simulation]

[After parallel simulation, you found three places to securely spend the night: a hotel room in the left direction, an old empty house in the front at the edge of the street, and a small shelter for the poor and needy on the right direction.]

'Hotel isn't a good idea; the cameras inside will capture my face. Also, shelter is located inside the hospital premises just beside the police station; there is no need to go there; only this old empty house is the best option.'

Neil thought to himself, looking at the map of three routes on the projection. He then selected the straight route, and the projection zoomed in front of him, showing the planning route toward the old house.

Neil followed the projection and left the bushes exactly 48 seconds later.

After reaching the other side of the street, he hid his figure by standing closely near the wall.

At the same moment, a few vehicles passed on the street behind him.

Then he moved forward, walking narrowly with the wall, crossing a few houses.

After a while,

Neil stopped beside an old wall and rusty iron gate with chain on the other edge of the street.

'Probably this house has been locked for a few years; the chain and lock are rusted to extremes, indicating that it won't be a problem for me to secretly live inside.'

Neil thought to himself and then glanced at the pipe in the corner. He climbed up using it, then crossed the tall wall and jumped and landed on the other side.

'Ouch, damn, this wall is extremely tall,' Neil thought, feeling the painful current pulses passing in his legs, almost making them numb.

Looking around, he took a deep breath and walked toward the door, seeing the lock of the door, which is an old-age key lock.

'It's troublesome; I have to find a way to open this door forcefully or find other ways to invade this house. I don't have my killer tools yet, so I can only use the simulation and find a way forward.'

Neil thought to himself, and then he initiated the parallel simulation.

"Search the area for possible items to open the door lock forcefully without making a sound," Neil commanded thoughtfully.

[Initiating the unlimited parallel simulation]

[After parallel simulation, you found an old key under the middle pot on the left.]

Neil's eyes lit up, and he muttered, "I am really lucky; I just wanted to find small iron pieces to open the door, yet it gave me the key; probably the owner forgot it and took other keys with him."

He glanced at the pots on the right and left sides of the door under the shade, then walked toward the middle pot on the left side and tilted it, seeing the old rusty key and worms.

He picked the key up and rubbed it clean with the robe on his body.

'It's really rusty; will it still work or not? I hope it does,' Neil thought while rubbed clean the key a little, seeing there is still a thick rust layer on it.

He glanced around and then rubbed it with the corner of the doorstep in order to clean the rust layer away.

After a while, seeing the rust layer disappear, he inserted the orange key in the door hole and rotated it.

'It worked,'

Neil thought to himself; his eyes lit up hearing the lock clicking sound.

He opened the door after rotating the round handle and walked inside, pushing open the door barely.

'Furnished,' Neil thought, looking at the white clothes covering all furniture and tables and chairs.

He walked toward the kitchen, seeing the refrigerator. Opening it, he shook his head in disappointment; it was empty.

'I thought there may be some water bottles inside; I am a little thirsty,' Neil thought to himself and then closed the fridge, opened the tap, and seeing no water flow out, he shook his head, then walked toward the room.

"Oh, old fashion clothes probably belong to some old man; anyway, few among them don't look bad."

Neil muttered playfully, looking at the collection of clothes in the wardrobe—open pants and loose shirts with straight patterns.

He removed his robe and put it inside the unlimited storage space.

'I shouldn't remove these gloves and socks for now,' Neil thought to himself, looking at his gloves and socks; they are protecting his traces.

Neil then grabbed a plain white loose shirt and a gray pant, which is a little narrow from all other pants.

After wearing them, Neil was speechless, seeing his hands hidden below the cuffs. Also, the pant is extremely loose.

Neil then folded the sleeves and tightened the pants using a belt; he also folded the pants from the bottom.

"I have to quickly buy new clothes and store them inside unlimited storage in order to avoid such a situation again."

Neil muttered, looking at himself in the mirror. He looks like a balloon man right now.

"Next, let's find out the information about the owner of this house, then I will go outside and eat something," Neil muttered thoughtfully.

"Initiate unlimited parallel simulations; search the whole house for information," Neil commanded calmly.
